We were road tripping through Oregon and our travels brought us to this little gem of an eatery in central Albany. We were not expecting the food to be so good, but it was! Everything about this place is cool, hospitable, warm and inviting. My oldest kid had a chili dog, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the shepherd's pie and a kids charcuterie board. Both were chef's kiss. The Squeaky Cork houses a full bar, and the spirit selection was quite impressive (particularly the Scotch). The wait staff and bartender were so pleasant and accommodating. No pretension, just good vibes. We appreciated the coloring books and crayons for our little ones as did the more grown-up fare on the kids menu. As a finale to a fun dining experience, the check was brought to us in a Scottish vintage hardcover book, pretty sweet! This eatery was definitely a highlight of our travels. It embodies a community pub vibe, that's for sure.

This place is so adorable! The decor is cute and the bar is cozy. We sat outside during the summer and enjoyed the weather with our flight and food. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. This is a must try when in Albany.

This place is truly a gem in albany. Great cocktails, great customer service, and their honey mustard with the soft pretzel is one of the best foods i've ever had. I've been here lots of times and it's always are go to for date nights. Brought a friend from out of town and we ended up ordering another soft pretzel after our first was demolished and the kitchen hooked us up with the honey mustard.

My favorite grilled cheese and tomato soup combo! Nice firehouse theme with nice workers. Book receipts are such a cute little touch!

Another little hidden gem in downtown Albany! We wondered into The Squeaky Cork a week ago after there was a power outage in our neighborhood and we were hungry! It was packed but there was room at the bar to sit. We were greeted immediately upon entering with friendly smiles. I asked the wonderful lady behind the bar what she recommended on their signature drink menu and she said their "Dewdropper" was one of their best from the recent Mixology event held downtown. I'm a gin lover so I was sold and the drink did not disappoint! So much flavor! My friend had the "Ginger Peach" and absolutely loved it. I ordered the "Salty Kilty Dog" to eat and it was soooo good! Some of the best comfort food I've had in a while. You just can't go wrong with potato chips loaded with some of the best tasting chili, smoked sausage and cheddar. The staff were just amazing and the service was excellent! We've been back a second time already because the drinks and food were just that great. If there's no seating when you first arrive, we promise, it's worth the wait. There's a reason they're packed out!

I love this little spot. Welcoming and cozy, and the service is so personal and sweet! The food is absolutely delicious and I thought the prices were fair. We've had the charcuterie board, the chili dog, grilled cheese and tomato soup and my favorite has to be the soft pretzel I asked what sweet mustard they use bc I could drink it and they make it in house! If only they'd bottle it the drink selection is amazing, along with local beers and wines. It really is a gem, a spot I'd more expect in Portland, nestled right in downtown Albany. You can tell the owners love the place and the community and this comes across in everything they do. Can't wait to go back!

Drinks and food were very good. The tomato soup with grilled cheese was amazing. Service was great and we were seated as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was so cute! Definitely will be going back!

Came here for a date night to try this place out. I found the inside was still very similar to how Three Sheets left it, including the police patches on the wall (super cool). Overall, dimly lit ambiance, it was perfect. We ordered a flight of whiskey, the whiskey hotel charcuterie and the pretzel. Everything was amazing. Who would have thought BBQ sauce and pretzels were a match made in heaven?! The board was giant and well worth the cost. Between that and the pretzel, we didn't end up getting anything else (though the entree La looked amazing). One gripe I had was the wait staff. Most all of them were VERY young and didn't appear to have much experience. One thing I noticed is I think they sort of ran out of room, and it was sort of dying down. I watched a lot of the staff carry food up to next to the bar at a little staging area. They nibbled and collected in this one area by the patches, talked on their phones and overall, sort of got caught up hanging out there a lot. It was to the point where we had empty glasses and no utensils until asked. Other gripe was the drinks came out sort of, as they are, and don't have any sort of gimmicky pizzazz to them. I sort of expected to see this when I saw they essentially specialize in this. Either way, this place was amazing, and we plan to return. Maybe sooner than later! Thank you!

Great atmosphere, food and drinks. I had the Shepherds Pie. Delicious! Great selection of Whiskey, Bourbon, and Scotch. Plus others. I would consider this the best little bar in town.

Such a cool place for dinner and a glass of whiskey! Very nice ambiance - lots of stuff to look at on the walls, nice and cozy too. And I have never seen such a selection of Scottish whiskey (there is wine and a list of signature drinks as well). I ordered Shepherds Pie - boy oh boy was it to DIE for! Another in our party got Bangers and Mash and loved it, and still someone else got the Mac & cheese and said that was ALSO fantastic! All the food and drinks were great, the service was good - we have nothing but good things to say about this place! (Except maybe could you bring it to San Diego so we don't have to fly all the way here next time?!)

Very festive! They put a lot of lovely Christmas decor. Check it out!

Solid 5 stars. It's one perfect place I haven't experienced for a long time! Surprised spirits selection. Christmas ambiance is magical. Hidden gem of Albany. Please don't change a thing. Need to drive down from Portland more often.

The wall-o-whiskey! Lots of Irish, as well as Scotch, Welsh, and Japanese whiskeys, plus other non-whiskey bottles as well.

We got there to late in the evening for food service, but we were still able to order a couple of amazing desserts. My friend had a raspberry swirl cheesecake with lemon curd, and I had the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Both desserts were fabulous, and we had a great time talking to the owner/bartender about the huge selection of whiskies and other bottles on display behind the bar. We will definitely go there again--can't wait to try the bangers & mash and shepherds pie!

First we arrived 20-30min prior to our reservation. The lady at the front was sooo friendly I was taken back! We asked if we could sit at the bar and get a drink. Of course she said yes. The bar is super cute and I love the hours off-set the restaurant hours so you can enjoy drinks prior to and after dinner. The bar tender was super friendly and you can see he enjoyed his job. The drinks were really good! Our friendly greater came to get us promptly when our table was ready. The table was ready with fresh baked bread and butter. Our waiter was Jessie; what a gem! He was so friendly and helped us with the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We started off with the bar fries (Jessie's recommendation) wow! They were amazing not super heavy and a perfect starter. I had the special which was a NY steak, with Hatch Chili polenta. My steak was perfection and the polenta was delicious. I loved the gravy as well. Superb blend of flavors. We ended the night with the flourless chocolate cake and espresso martini. Fabulous food and honestly some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered.

The tomato appetizer that everyone seemed to rave about was ho hum and several of the sliced tomatoes were already mealy. We left it half uneaten. Entrees were another problem. The steak was over-marinated, so it became mushy even though apparently grill marks were attempted. The fish was poached, which can be good, but it arrived cold & was un-appetizing. It came with seasonal succotash underneath the fish but that was grayish, lumpy & also cold, so it was scraped to the side. Most was left uneaten & when offered to have it boxed up, we declined. I know there are not a lot of options in Albany for "fine dining" but this place is not worth the prices they charge.

I asked if they needed my name and was told by the hostess "no." I thought it was a little weird, but went with it. My coworker arrived first and he said reservations for 5. They asked him for a name! Haha, he said they looked at him like he was crazy. So that was weird. Otherwise, once we all arrived, the service was very friendly and attentive. Ambiance - it was open and had a mix of high top tables, low top, and bar seating. When it's busy, it's quite noisy. Not a place you can really carry a long conversation. I did notice there was a loft area that looks like a private party/gathering could be held. Once everyone left after the lunch rush, it was much quieter. Food - Yum! We started with the lemon pepper wings, which were recommended by our wait staff. The worst thing with wings are when they are dry and jerky like. This was not the case at Loafers. The wings were piping hot when they came out. Too hot to eat immediately. Once you got into the meat of the wings, it was moist. The lemon pepper flavor was great. Citrusy and peppery, not too salty. The wings came with baby carrots and celery sticks. I got the Buddha bowl which includes Rice, carrots, purple cabbage, avocado, sesame seeds, micro cilantro, mung bean sprouts, watermelon radish & peanut sauce and added seared ahi. I requested no rice and the waitress said it would be nothing if I don't get the rice, so she suggested getting salad. The bowl was massive. I'm not sure I needed the salad. It was really filling and the tuna was delicious. I felt the peanut sauce was a bit salty so I barely used it. Tuna has a pepper crust, so it was also flavorful. Overall, happy with our experience there for our team lunch.
