Calders Coffee Cafe is a fabulous little spot right on main street. I went for a totally different drink--Highlands Mist Latte. It was like a London Fog with Lavender but I subbed black tea for Earl Grey since EG sometimes isn't always gluten free -- it was delicious. Hubs just had his usual vanilla latte which he enjoyed. Coffee is bitter. We were hoping that the coffee is better now. We think it is the same coffee as the last coffee shop there. Maybe the same owner, just changed the name? Who knows. We need a better coffee shop in town. Sad.... read more

A great little coffee shop/ cafe in highlands. Very convenient location near the shops. I always get a chai latte with lavender. Every time I visit Highlands I go to Calders. 10/10 would recommend for those who drink Starbucks and dunkin back home and need there coffee on vacation. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. The two people working seemed annoyed by us coming in, they weren't friendly or inviting at all. It was the middle of the afternoon. The latte I got was absolutely terrible. The coffee was burnt and also had a cardboard taste, I'm assuming from the cup. I couldn't even drink the $6 coffee I purchased and part of me wanted to return for a refund but we were on a time crunch. DON'T RECOMMEND. read more

Pretty decent caramel macchiato but it did have a pretty high price tag, about 6 with tax for a medium!

The service and overall feel was very nice. My family and I were hoping to be able to sit down and enjoy a little breakfast, however, there were at least 4 different people sitting alone at 3-people tables, creating no space for my family to sit down and eat. The free wifi is helpful, but it brings in people that do schoolwork and sit at tables for hours on end taking up space for paying families. Cute place, but little things could be fixed to keep people coming back. read more

Just a fair place. Originally from NY and they are so far removed from a good NY Bagel. They don't have many choices either. Coffee cake was average and unless you get them toasted the bagels are cold. They also charge for butter. There aren't many places around so I guess this place has to suffice. Would have given them only 1 star but I guess for the staff I'll give them an extra one. read more

Nice atmosphere, good coffee. There are many options and many flavors. I love lavender coffee, so I knew I had to get it! My coffee was made quickly, and it tasted pretty good! The only thing I would say is that the coffee is pretty bitter, so if that's not your thing, you probably won't enjoy it as much! I love bitter coffee so I was very happy, but my mom added a few sugar packets. Overall it was a pleasant experience, I will come back if I'm in the area! read more

Wonderful experience! We used the Joe app, which made ordering and pickup a breeze. Our delicious cappuccino, cafe latte, and bagels were ready within minutes and ready for us to collect in a designated cubby for app/mobile orders. The staff is super nice and professional. Calders seems like a thoughtfully-run place, something that's especially important in the Covid-19 era. Everyone -- customers and staff included -- wore masks. There was clear signage and demarcation to promote social distancing, a hand sanitizing station, and a plexiglass divider between the staff and customers. All the stars! read more

This is the only coffee shop in highlands and they've really let that get to their heads and clearly they've just stopped trying. Highlands is centered on hospitality and the employees at Calder's have no understanding of what that word means. I lived in highlands for 7 months and every single time I came in, employees were rude and just seemed like they hated their lives. The coffee is also very over-priced and kind of bland. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 0, was because 1. They do have a cute mountain-y feel inside and that might be fun for the first or second time visiting; and 2. Their breakfast sandwiches are actually pretty good. All in all, I really wish Calder's was better. The best coffee AND service you can get in highlands would be at Mountain Fresh Grocery right down the street. read more

This is a nice coffee shop. Rough wood floors, comfortable arm chairs, nice tables and chairs. They have a full compliment of coffee drinks and tea as well as beer, wine and cider. Their food ranges from oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches (microwaved), bagels to coffee cake, scones and cookies. There is more space in the rear of the shop so plenty of room. read more

Cute coffee shop in Highlands area. Stayed at OEI for work and sadly we were in the annex which does not serve food or has an onsite restaurant so I found myself here everyday for tea/breakfast. The staff is friendly and you feel you are at a cute hometown coffee shop. Adorable. read more

Very good coffee, very rude service. Stopped in this morning and the girl taking the order seemed upset and didn't smile, didn't say thank you, swiped my card and turned the screen for me to sign and quickly walked away. Once the order was ready my name was called and a different girl put the coffee out and tossed the bag a food on the counter and walked away with no "thank you", "thanks" or anything at all. Everyone seemed mad except for one other girl that did seem a little friendlier than the rest. They all seemed upset that customers were in the store. read more

Love local coffee & tea shops & was excited when I saw my favorite tea brand & line of syrups. A medium earl grey tea with steamed half & half was $5. The staff were both on their phones, put the drink on the counter & didn't say, "here you go, thank you, etc" and kept their heads in their phones. I asked if my drink was ready as I didn't see it & am new to the store. They said "it's right there" with heads still in phones. Disappointed. read more

My friend and i purchased our coffee and sandwiches and sat across the streeet in a little "square" area with outside tables & chairs...they are very good about observing Covid restrictions and yet providing great service. read more

So sad to write this review but it's definitely necessary at this point. We are regulars and every time our experience has gotten worse since the new owners. Today we went in to grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich. We waiting 25 minutes for our breakfast sandwiches. I had to ask for them & when I did they said they lost our ticket and didn't know who's they were so they had to remake them. On top of that, the coffee today was discussing it tasted like trash. No flavor and the milk tasted off. It was so bad we dumped the coffee they made out and asked for a drip coffee hoping that would be better. Regardless please fix this as we are very disappointed and use to love Bucks. Never had a bad experience and if we did they would always make it right. We will not be going back. read more

Was in town this past weekend for a nice fall getaway... woke up Monday morning excited to get a nice cup of coffee and walk around the beautiful, cute town area... my husband and I both ordered a coffee and a breakfast sandwich... after about 15 minutes of eating and ready to head out of the restaurant, I asked the female barista making the drinks if she wouldn't mind to please heat my coffee up... I was met with an extremely rude, disrespectful, sharp, loud tone and reply of, "heat it up?! I just made it!"... I was very taken back by her abrasiveness and rudeness... I said, "no, it's been about 15 minutes and I would greatly appreciate it if you would do so"... again, more tone, sarcasm and extreme rudeness in front of a line of customers saying to me, "I can see the steam coming out of it!"... WOW! can not believe this is how y'all conduct customer service... many, many friends of ours travel to the Highlands to vacation... I will be sure to let them know how y'all treat your customers... such a shame. read more
