Our first order was their chocolate old fashion (regular od fashion with only chocolate bitters) and know creek. Bartender informed me they didn't have know creek and I made it 2 of the chocolate old fashions. When we got the drinks, it was basically makers mark with a splash of chocolate bitters over ice. I'm a bourbon fan and she made both those "old fashion drinks" in under a minute and they tasted like whiskey on the rocks. Wife hated it and I took her drink. I then ordered for her Titos and cranberry. Bartender said they were out of titos and she settled for Grey goose and cranberry. It was measured properly and very red, so can't complain but come on, you're going to charge us for Grey goose since you're out of titos but can't give it an extra splash? We looked at the menu and ordered the chicken Ceasars with NO chicken (there's a reason I'm making it clear that I said "no chicken") for the wife since shes vegetarian and I ordered their sampler platter. Bartender informed me that their fryer was broken and said I can order burgers and sandwiches, so I settled for chicken and bacon sandwich. A few minutes go by and the Bartender then said that they were out of lettuce and only had arugula salad. My wife then asked for the tomato soup since shes vegetarian and we were then told that the soup is no longer available and that it hasn't been removed from menus. So my wife settles for the arugula salad without chicken and a side cheese pizza. After bringing our food out, it was served in to go plates. I had chips for my side since the fries couldn't be made do to the fryer not working and my wife git her pizza and her chicken Ceasar arugula only salad....with chicken in it. So luckily she could pick the chicken out and we tried topnotch let it ruin our night. While eating, the Bartender was talking with a coworker who was off work and they were talking about how they hate customers who do this and who do that, very unprofessional since we weren't the only ones at the bar that night. During this time I asked for 2 waters and she brought out the 2 waters but didn't take my first empty old fashion glass or my wife's empty cranberry and vodka glass. She didn't even ask if we wanted another one. So we get the bill, $77.94 for the microwaved food, wrong order, bad drinks, etc. Terrible and has now made me cancel my booking for the remaining 2 weeks I'm here.

They have the bar still setup the same on the other side and it doesn't look too different either. I did notice that they have a lot more stuff on their menu from whenever the last time it was that I visited. Pizza is super cheesy and I can definitely appreciate that. I read a lot of other reviews and saw a lot of negative reviews for the chili verde pizza crust and I think they purposely make it thick like that to hold up the sauce. I also want readers to know that LR's is the ORIGINAL for the chili verde pizza. Our "other" local favorite pizza place is super good too, but is NOT the original! ;-)

The manager told me because I did not confirm, they were not sure they were going to hold the table. I apologized that I had not recieved a call, but asked if we could still have the table (I was there on time and could see the large table with the reservation note on it). The manager begrungenly said they would allow us to still dine with them, but they said they would not seat us until more of our party arrived. I asked if we could wait for our party at the bar, but they said they would not because every seat at the bar was taken. So just a heads up, you cannot stand at the bar, you cannot stand around the restaurant, and they do not have a place to sit and wait for your table, you just have to stand outside (I'm sure it has to do with safety or firecodes, I didn't argue, we waited outside until people at the bar left). Once we were seated, the staff was not friendly. Wondering if we should leave or not, I called a friend who works near the building who frequents this place often on what I should do. He told me to go back inside and that the staff would be nice. When I returned, a new server came to our table with a tray of shots and said they would be taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I figured maybe the manager and that other server was just having a bad day, my friend must have called the restaurant and asked his most trusted server to help us, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. I didn't want to risk it another bad experience, so I haven't returned since. A few months ago during the whole Cesar Chavez news broke out, that friend who frequented the place went with another friend to the Botonist and was talking about the news while they were dining. The manager overheard. Later when my friends were getting ready to leave, the manager started becoming upset with my friends and told my guy friend, "I HOPE SOMEBODY R*PES YOU". Stunned, he asked her to repeat herself and she did. My friends left. The chefs and building are wonderful, but obviously something needs to be done about the management and staff with being professional and treating customers with respect. I've worked in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be, but I have always been able to keep my cool around people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal.
