    Paneer archari

You definitely have to make reservations as we walked in at an earlier time and told us we had to wait for our reservations time even though restaurant was semi empty. They do charge when you make reservations but make sure you tell them at the end of your meal as they forgot to refund our money. Besides that incident the service was overall great. Food for me was okay, I have had better indian food. The pani poppers was not worth it. They do give you 3 different flavors of water and it wasn't great. Ordered potato kulcha it was okay need to be crispy and had no flavors at all. The paneer archai was okay. The green chutney that it came with made it taste definitely better! The dum vegetable briyani was good as it does time with paneer inside which was nice suprise. The Rita however lacked flavored. None of the food was spicy or just didnt have that indian flavoring. The presentation was great! I just think it lacked alot of flavors in the food. The mint drink we ordered was all soda and lemon. Overall it was an okay restaurant nothing amazing.

Will definitely be coming back! Ordered the butter chicken pot pie and chai martini and both were amazing! I would come back again just for the pot pie. Restaurant is modern and clean, and our server was just the sweetest and friendlier person ever.

Indian street food and regular items in an upscale hip lounge atmosphere Food is very fresh and plated nicely Ingredients are very fresh Instagram worthy Love the crisp texture and flavorful aromas Definitely will be back

The chef is very innovative and the food tastes great, but I believe my credit card was charged to someone else's bill. I believe it's an honest mistake, but it's still a little annoying.

    Delicious Indian dinner!

My first experience at Cali Chilli was for a Yelp Elite Event a couple weeks ago, and since then I kept thinking about that phenomenal butter chicken pot pie. I came back and brought a good friend for his bday dinner. Walked in on Sunday night without a reso and they were busy but they kindly sat us at the bar (full menu available at the bar). We ordered the potato kulcha- spiced potatoes tucked inside of Indian bread, tandoori chicken - super tender/flavorful and juicy, the butter chix pot pie I couldn't get out of my head, dum biryani with chicken- this rice dish had quite a kick but was really good especially eaten with the piping hot bread topping the dish, and garlic and chive naan. Everything was freshly prepared and so delicious. Nil who had been my server for the YEE was our server again and he is so friendly, attentive, and engaging. My friend absolutely loved the food and was happy to discover CC also has a larger location in Downtown LA. Two for two great meals at Cali Chilli. Will be back again soon to bring my family and more friends. Thank you CC for the amazing food and wonderful hospitality!

Indian fusion restaurant with high ceilings and pretty good food. Went for a weekday lunch. Street parking was plenty. Waiter sat us immediately. There was a lunch special of the day where you get a salad, appetizer of the day (veg option was paneer achari), main of the day (veg option kadai paneer), rice and garlic naan. Opted for the veg options since it's lent - along with the pani puri poppers. The pani puri poppers were really good - the mango & passionfruit sauce was amazing, as was the mint one. It took quite a bit of time from then to get our main meals, but were really good once they came. The flavors were legit and there was a lot of paneer. The garlic naan was also good - not as greasy as your typical garlic naan. Would come back to try the meat options (my friend who came had the chicken and thought it was really good), but keep in mind the service was really really slow (took 1.5 hrs for lunch). Seemed like there was only 1 person doing everything, and probably would be hard fitting in a typical workday lunch hour.

    Pani Puri Poppers and falooda

Heads up: GET A RESERVATION Although spacious, it was quite pack on a Sunday night. Luckily I was by myself so I didn't have to wait long. The falooda was interesting and was basically a dessert as described on the menu. The pani puri poppers were unique and was told by the manager you gotta eat them in one bite otherwise it will spill which made sense. My favorite was the pot pie. Generous lamb meat portions and they were chunky and soft. It shows that it was cooked for a long time so I would definitely get it again but will order naan instead of rice(naan was going to take 20 min I was told). Excited to come back next time!

The ambiance here feels luxurious yet relaxed, I loved it. Such a cute bar. The service was fantastic; even the owner came by and was very present. The food was incredibly flavorful. We tried the Dahi Sev Puri -- 10/10. We also had the Pani Puri Poppers--so good, truly an experience. For mains, we tried the Chicken Vindaloo and the Butter Chicken Pot Pie--10/10 for both.

I love Cali Chilli and left a glowing review for their location in Downtown Los Angeles a couple of months back. I decided to dine at my local Long Beach location and booked a reservation. Unfortunately, I was turned away as I was told the kitchen was closed. This was disappointing. I highly recommend that this is addressed on the backend of the website's reservation tool, aligning the available times to dine with the kitchen's availability. I would recommend not allowing reservations within 30 minutes of the kitchen closing.

Michelin Star Chef they said... Alright let's see what the hype is about, Came here to celebrate my birthday as I have been wanting to try it out for quite some time. I avoided the spot because I don't really like places that don't have their own parking lot, but luckily parking was actually easy to find mid week afternoon. From the outside you would never expect what the interior looks like, modern, high ceilings, with a dark mysterious atmosphere, I enjoyed it. If you like sports, there's so many giant tvs to watch from. We made a reservation so we were seated immediately. Not sure if its an always thing, but there was only 1 server taking care of everyone, in which she was nice but she did forget one of our dishes, which was the mainnn thing I wanted to try, the butter chicken pot pie! Which also takes some time to bake up! She was nice about it though, and we weren't in a rush so we waited. Let me tell yall, the butter chicken (Cali Chili) pot pie was definitely worth the wait, it was the best thing we had and I would go back just for that. The next dish I would pair that with is the Dum Biryani, this was massive and I enjoyed the spices in it, very flavorful. These 2 alone and you're set. That's all you need. The other things we tried that were pretty good as well were the beef short ribs (it was tender and the sauce was good, but small portion), Tellicherry shrimp (this was interesting, shrimp and grits, the grits were super watery when we first got it, best to let it sit a bit and it gets thicker, the shrimp was good),classic burrata saag paneer (the flavor combo on this wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad), garlic and chive naan (good, not amazing), and the pani puri (my least favorite, it was a fun concept but messy to eat and I was surprised it was cold). Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I will be back for the butter chicken pot pie! Happy eats, loves! ^_^

This place is unassumingly located next to my go to nail place so we decided to try it out. It is a small place but doesn't feel crowded. There is a large bar which is nice and stocked if you want to hang out with friends. We sat next to the front window so it was nice and semi private however I think this made for slow service. It took a while to get our order in as well as our food. The pani puri poppers were fresh and delish - 3 different flavors. The rice needed to be ordered separately as none of the dishes came with it as well as the garlic naan. The burrata paneer was so good with a hint of heat. The eggplant lasagna was the best with so much flavor. Even if you aren't an eggplant fan try this dish and you might be converted. The chicken wings were also solid but a small portion. The chicken tikka was a bit on the dry side and the sauce that came with it was not very good. The mango lassis were so good but we had to wait until the end of the meal to get it. For the Christmas birthday gal they brought a small kulfi which she liked. The food is good and we definitely want to try other things on the menu next time. However, the service was definitely lacking and slow for not being busy.

This is a beautiful restaurant I have been here once before and decided to come back with my sister for late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The place was mostly empty except for two guys at a table and a woman at the bar. We both wanted to try the Cali chili pot pie. We ordered this with garlic naan, no need for rice. The pastry crust on top was perfectly toasted and complemented the butter chicken on the inside. This was a creative way to present the dish. We both had leftovers which we enjoyed even more the next day.

What a gem of a find! Cali chilli in Long Beach is delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is upscale, modern and beautiful with good ambience music. The service is friendly and most importantly, the drinks and food is delicious! I had the tamarind martini the flavor is so good never quite had something like that. Tried the dahi sev puri and the puri poppers ooo they are both so good. I loved the Davi sev puri Soo good! For entree I got the chicken vindaloo and butter chicken Cali pot pie with rice and garlic naan. Everything was so good if you're a fan of Indian food this is it! Loved my experience here!

My go to order is still the chicken and gyro platter combo, mixed with barbecue and white sauce. It is seriously amazing and the gyro is still one of my favorites anywhere. The portions are solid and the flavors always hit. The only downside is the fries used to be better, I really miss the seasoning they had before. They are still fine and we keep ordering them, but I do wish they had a bit more flavor like they used to. Another small bummer is that there tends to be a noticeable homeless presence outside near the Starbucks, which has become pretty normal for the area. That said, they generally do not seem dangerous, which I do appreciate. Overall, this remains one of our go to spots. The food is still great, the service has always been good, and it continues to be a place we are happy to return to.

Everything was going normally until I got to the sauce options at the end. The employee asked if I wanted barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I didn't hear her clearly at first and said "mild," and she responded in an irritated tone that it was either barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I told her I had never seen the barbecue sauce before and asked what it looked like. She repeatedly just said "it looks like barbecue sauce" instead of simply showing it to me or explaining it. I even asked if she could show me the sauce, and she still responded dismissively and seemed annoyed that I was asking basic questions before deciding what I wanted on my food. What made the interaction worse was that there wasn't even a line or rush happening at the time. I wasn't trying to hold anything up -- I just wanted to know what I was ordering. The receipt listed the employee name as "Estuardo," although the employee helping me was a woman, so the register name may not match the actual employee. I'm leaving this review as constructive feedback because a little patience and friendliness goes a long way with customers.

It's gotten a lot more popular since then, with some great additions to the menu (a lot of vegan options) and social advertising. So when I was walking back home from a delicious (but not filling) lunch, decided to stop in to 'top off'. It had a great dish along with very good banchans (but also a bland rendition of a classic Korean dish). It was busy on a mid Saturday afternoon, with their dedicated backyard parking lot pretty full. They now have outdoor seating where they've set-up korean 'grill-your-own' bbq tables. There's a clear 'Please wait to be seated' sign at the front, but no dedicated hostess station, so one has to wait till a server happens to come by. I was told I could choose a booth. There are no printed menus, instead needing to depend on their website. I had a craving for kimchi jjigae ($18.99), and noticed mackerel ($9.99) so got that as well. The jjigae comes with banchan, and those came early. They really upped their game here, with 7 different ones that looked (and tasted) great. Today, they had a daikon and carrot pickled salad (solid, would go great with fried chicken), stir-fried mushrooms (would go great in a bibimbap), marinated fish cakes (a personal favorite, and their version was solid), soybean sprout side dish (have grown to appreciate this as I've gotten older), napa kimchi (pretty strongly sour), cucumber kimchi (strongly favored by still maintaining crunchiness), and a decent macaroni salad (think I tasted a bit of potato in there, Hawaiian-style). This is a super good deal, especially for lunch. The banchan along with the steamed rice (well prepared) comes in bronze looking dishes, indicating a higher level of refinement. I love pike mackerel, having it quite a lot when growing up, and always thought that it (kkongchi) was what mackerel was in Korea. In reality, a more popular mackerel is the Korean mackerel (godeungeo), and this is what is served as an appetizer here: the preparation was a revelation. Two large, generous, boneless filets of mackerel is lightly breaded and fried. It sits on top of a bed of greens with various accompaniments. A generous amount of chili threads make it visually appealing as well. This is an absolute steal at the price, a fine dining dish at this restaurant. And it was great not having to worry about thin bones ruining each bite. I really loved this dish. The dish I thought would be good...was not. Just looking at it, one can tell something's up: the broth was bland without umami, which is the worst sin for this dish. There is a choice of spam (chosen) or pork belly, and its definitely added at the end of cooking since it added nothing to the broth flavor. Maybe the broth is initially prepared vegan-style (no pork or fish seasoning initially)? But if so, why no mushrooms? Anyway...I ate all the chunks in the stew to not waste, but left the rest of the broth alone. Service was attentive to bring the dishes, but then completely non-responsive afterwards. I finally was able to grab another server, who was able to check me out tableside using Toast tablets.

So happy I came here with my friends for my birthday!!!…read more I have seen this place over and over on Yelp because of the reviews, so I really wanted to try it and it didn't disappoint at all! It is very casual, a modest little restaurant on 2nd street, but it's probably the most authentic food you'll find on 2nd street as well. Everything was so incredibly flavorful and delicious. We started with the Galata mixed appetizer, so good!! It comes with A LOT! I loved all of the dips and the dolmas and babagonoush were excellent (which are always two of my favorite dishes). We got the beef and lamb doner which was to die for. Honestly. Great meat, seasoning was on point. I loved it. 10/10 We also ordered this chicken dish from a clay pot that was soooo good. Amazing depth of flavor too. 9.5/10 The waitress recommended the last skewer and it was delicious. Would definitely order again 10/10z We finished with pomegranate tea which everyone loved. It truly was a delicious dinner. I will bring more and more people here to enjoy the beautiful food. Everyone was absolutely so nice to us, I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

I…read morehad noticed some quality and consistency issues over the past few years, but my recent visits have all been excellent, so it genuinely feels like they've turned things around and earned their 5 stars again. I've tried almost everything on the menu over the years, from orange chicken to the short ribs, and most dishes are delicious. The portions are huge and perfect for sharing family-style, especially with larger groups. They've always handled big parties well, though I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time since they can get busy. The ambiance is probably the one area that could use some improvement, but the food and portions more than make up for it. If it's your first time, I'd recommend the chicken corn soup, sweet and sour chicken, green onion paratha, and Mongolian beef.

We were seated and ordered lamb and shrimp. We each ate some lamb and shrimp. A bowl of white rice was also served. I thought that the shrimp was satisfactory and the lamb was good. We were not able to eat all that was served so we took the uneaten portions home in "to go" containers. Men's washroom was satisfactory and paper towels were available... good. The ambient noise level was VERY high which made it extremely difficult to carry on a conversation so I am going to ding this establishment one point. I noticed that at least some of the men who worked at this establishment failed to tuck their shirts in. I consider that to be highly unprofessional so I am dinging this establishment one point for that reason. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school this establishment would be in there solid with a C.

The service was quick, and the menu was easy to order from. The only downside is that parking can be a little difficult to find, but there is street parking and nearby parking lots around the restaurant. I also loved the wall art and overall vibe. Highly recommend checking this place out! We ordered: * Canned Watermelon Frusecha from the fridge - $3.99 * Quesarito Burrito with asada - $19.99 * Added Flamin' Hot Cheetos, nacho cheese, and dusting for an extra $3.99 * Hot Cheetos Balls with sour cream - $20.99

I grabbed the Chicken Tikka Burrito to go to try something new and it landed right in the middle for me. The flavors weren't bad, but they weren't hitting the way I expected either and the whole thing was just way too rice heavy. It felt like the chicken and other fillings got lost in a giant brick of rice, so every bite tasted more like a rice burrito with a little chicken, instead of a balanced flavorful wrap. Not inedible by any means just not something I'd run back for. That said, I don't want this one miss to overshadow what Fatima's does well. I've tried a lot of different items here over time and I always appreciate that they prepare everything fresh and use quality ingredients. Their beef and chicken shawarma tacos are legit good, and that Lebamex sauce is straight up addictive easily one of my favorite things on the menu. Overall this visit was a solid 3 star experience not terrible, not amazing, just okay. I'll definitely be back for my usual shawarma tacos and Lebamex sauce fix

There wasn't quite as much meat as I expected either. The salad was very well done with cucumbers, tomatoes, and radishes (I didn't want the onions). We saw that Saffron was a good choice, so we made the move. Okay, Pine avenue in Long Beach has experienced some empty locations. This spot is located behind Chipotle where the movie theater used to be. Although it's nestled in the back of a couple of other restaurants, Saffron is easily displayed. I decided on the chicken skewer meal. That will run you about $20. The meat was tender, the hummus was delicious and homemade, the garlic sauce was exquisite, and the rice clearly had saffron in it. The pita bread that they served with the meal was definitely homemade and delicious. All in all it was a $20 well spent. If you're in downtown Long Beach on Pine avenue, I highly recommend going to Saffron for some excellent Mediterranean fare. Give them a try. You will be happy you did.

Thunderbolt Pizza in Long Beach has become my go-to pizzeria. After trying a wide range of their…read moremenu, two dishes stand out above the rest: the Pizza Margherita and the Garlic Knots. Pizza Margherita - 5/5. This is a perfect example of the care and craft that go into their food. The crust strikes a rare balance - it has that signature leopard-spotted char and slight floppiness you'd expect from a Neapolitan-style pizza, but also delivers the chewiness and airy structure of a great New York-style slice. It never tips too far into being overly crispy or dry. What really sets it apart, though, is the sauce. While many pizzerias treat sauce as an afterthought, Thunderbolt clearly does not. Their tomato sauce is rich, vibrant, and juicy, with a depth of flavor that avoids being overly acidic, salty, or tannic. It enhances the pizza beautifully without overshadowing the dough, which is exactly how it should be. Garlic Knots - 5/5. - Easily some of the best I've had anywhere in LA. These are essentially bread rolls with a super chewy interior and a thin, lightly crusty exterior, served alongside their excellent marinara sauce. They're incredibly satisfying and consistently a crowd favorite. I've brought visitors from Japan, Germany, and New York, and every single one of them couldn't stop talking about these knots. My only small critique is that I wish they had used fresh garlic instead of canned, which would have taken them to an even higher level. Still, even as they are, they're outstanding. Overall, Thunderbolt Pizza delivers thoughtful, high-quality food that stands out in a crowded pizza scene. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to--not just because it's good, but because it's consistently memorable.
