RICH is a true gem that's landed on Pine Ave. This was my first time dining here and instantly knew I'll a repeat guest. The ambiance is warm and inviting, fun colors, and a lil romantic. Our server was tentative and friendly. We had the samosas, chili garlic naan, butter chicken, lamb tikka masala, and jeera rice. The food is absolutely outstanding, authentic Indian flavors that I know I can't recreate at home. Every dish is rich, fresh, and full of depth. Easily the best Indian restaurant in the area. Come on and get your curry on!

Chili Chicken appetizer! Delicious & spicy!

Had an absolutely fantastic 1st experience here yesterday. As an Indian myself (who loves to cook family recipes at home), the flavor and quality of the dishes were the absolute perfect combination of tradition and gourmet cuisine. I have struggled for 30 years to find a good Indian restaurant in America (the Indian food in the UK is superior) but to my surprise this actually topped any of the England restaurants I've been to! The service was amazing, we met the owners and they are so sweet! I will definitely be returning, could not recommend a better Indian restaurant in SoCal! We ordered the chili chicken appetizer (it was incredible, but spicy!) & the paneer tikka masala (creamy & delicious) - I highly recommend both!

RICH couldn't be a more fitting acronym for this new hot Indian restaurant in DTLB. I've passed by a couple times when they weren't open and finally got to try it out. Hubby and I were able to walk in without reservations on a Sunday evening and got seated right away. There are about 12 tables and a few seats at the bar. I'm obsessed with the purple and green chairs with gold trim against the brick accent wall. Romantic dim lighting in the evening and cool Indian hip hop playing to set the vibe. Toran, our server, turned out to be one of the co-owners, along with his brother and father. The father greeted us first, took our order and made some good recs. They have a nice selection of Indian beer, international and California wines as well as lassi, chai and soda. For a small restaurant, they have a mighty menu with all the pakora, tandoori, curry, biryani and naan any heart desires. I wanted to try a little of everything but for just 2 of us, we were limited. Paneer Tikka Masala ($19) triangular paneer cheese slices in a creamy tomato based sauce was rich and smooth. Butter Chicken ($21) the pieces of chicken were marinated in a red sauce before being simmered in the buttery stew of yogurt, tomatoes and spices. Medium level spice, but it still had a sweet aftertaste. I felt the love put into this dish. They went so well with the Jeera Rice ($7) seasoned with ghee and toasted cumin seeds and the incredibly soft and chewy Chili Garlic Naan ($5), which had plenty of garlic and not too much chili. We ordered the Lamb Biryani ($22) to-go and I had to dig in as soon as they brought it to us. Omg this was so addictive! Loved the spices and they put a good amount of lamb in it too. I was literally dancing in my seat and couldn't stop eating until I hit a wall. The plating, dishes, service and ambience were so effortlessly perfect. I love this addition for DTLB and wish this family much success. Metered street parking and 2 hours free in the nearby structures!

Came back, our 2nd visit in a week. Brought a good friend with us. We tried a few different dishes and all were just as amazing as the first trip. The Paneer Biryani is now a favorite. The Butter Chicken is decadent and full of flavor. My wife had the Vindaloo I believe its called, it was quite spicy, she was struggling to eat it but she did. Said it was good but a bit too spicy for her liking. Now she knows Indian spicy is definitely different than any spice shes used to. We didnt have Bubby as our waitress this time, but the nephew helped us. He was quite friendly and checked in on us often. My friend really enjoyed the food and said she looks forward to coming back again. This time we went on a Friday night, it was busy and a bit louder but still enjoyable.

I just did take out for the first time. Cute place interior. Good vibes. I walked in and ordered the Lamb Briyani. Soo flavorful and light, but spicy at medium! I won't go above that grade. They also added (no charge) some of their rice pudding dessert, Kheer. Delish. I love rice pudding and this was a perfect finish to the spicy entree. They do have beer, wine, and champagne offerings but you can bring in a bottle for a reasonable corkage fee ($11). There is metered street parking as well as a garage 1/2 block down with 2 hours of free parking. Unfortunately my phone was having some problems so no pics! I'll be back!

Great addition to Pine street. Authentic and tasty northern Indian fare with all your tandoori favorites and then some. My egg curry was spiced heavily as requested, and I was satisfied. My dining companions enjoyed their tandoori chicken selections. The jeera rice and garlic naan were excellent accompaniments. There's a small selection of traditional Indian desserts and limited wine&beer selection. Quaint interior with very responsive service. I'm looking forward to trying out their soon to be debuted happy hour. Parking garage nearby on 3rd with 1st 2 hours free.

Nice little place, cool decor, tables, seats, dinner ware. Service a little slow because the place was full...that's good! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Samosas and beer to start, Shrimp Curry, Chicken Kudka(?), rice and garlic naan. Ordered very light spice and they delivered and still had gringo heat! Outstanding!

Have eaten there twice and both times were delicious. The apps and curries are flavorful and food comes out quick and hot. Definitely recommend! So glad to have a diversity and new flavors in the neighborhood!!

First time there, its right on Pine and its ambiance it's the perfect spot for date night or a solo lunch. The service was good, they gave us complimentary dessert which my partner loved. The spicy level on our meals were perfect and flavorful. Would have given 5 stars but they did forget an item which then came later. Will be back!

We did takeout, but the vibes seemed nice. Cute new place. We went on a Friday night and every seat was taken, so we figured it was a good sign. Service was fast, efficient, friendly. We ordered a strawberry lassi, malai kofta, butter chicken, and garlic naan. The garlic naan was super good (i feel that's pretty hard to mess up). I tried mango lassi at other places before but never tried a strawberry one so I had to have it. (Very good, refreshing.) malai kofta was very tasty and some of the best I've ever tried, HOWEVER !!! There was NO rice included! I've tried my fair share of Indian food places and they've all come with a free side of basmati rice with an entree! This is the first place I've ever gone to that did not include a side of basmati rice. Butter chicken was also good. We liked that the chicken pieces were cut up small so the center doesn't get all dry. Excellent place and we will be back, but next time, for rice as well!!

Had dinner here. There is street parking. The wait for a table was fast, less than 10 mins. The food was really good. The service was friendly andand fast. The atmosphere was nice. We ordered Fish Pakora, Chilli Shrimp, Saag Paneer, Tandoori Chicken, and Lamb Biryani. We also had dessert Raas Malai and the pistachio Kulfi. The saag paneer we ordered spicy and it came out so good. Had the perfect kick to it. The Kulifi was amazing.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. Try the Baby Gee appletini while you're there. Mezcal, tequila, sake appletini you ask?? Yes. Trust. And get a hot dog. Do it.

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

The gentleman politely said, these ladies were here first please take their order first, which the server did but was not so happy about. To our surprise the server still prepared his drinks first. The gentleman very surprised apologized since he knew we were there before him. With our drinks in hand we found a table with some empty seats. We parked in the multi-story parking garage behind Hamburger Mary's. Secret Island is a little over a block away. You can make reservations on OpenTable. It has a bit of a speakeasy entrance, as it is not plainly marked. Look for the staircase going down with greenery around it and the Secret Island sign downstairs. Go right at the bottom of the stairs and there is a little walkway where you see a very cool tiki display. It you stay there long enough, the lights will flash and you will hear thunder. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.

I've never had a more overcooked piece of fish in my life. When the server asked how our food was I informed her the food was extremely overcooked. She didn't seem to care and there was no offer to find some kind of solution. I wasn't expecting a comped dish or anything special, but a little acknowledgement would have been appreciated. I wouldn't reccomend this place but if you're going to the club there and want food I guess this could be a decent option.

I got the Backyard BBQ burger with tater tots and the Bacon Bleu burger with fries.  Backyard BBQ burger - the onion rings at Sideburns are some of the best in the game, so this was obviously stellar. An indulgent bite and they don't skimp on the bacon or onion rings either. Bacon Bleu burger - this was loaded with bleu cheese! I thought it was awesome, but my friends definitely thought it was a little too much to handle. Definitely order if you love bleu cheese. It was perfectly balanced by the sweet strawberry jam and peppery arugula. If you're looking to cure your hangover before it even starts, head to the Stache. The vibe is chill, with good bartenders and a good movie playing on the projector every night. Food is awesome and served late, which we all know is a rarity around here.

The fries and poutine fries are as good as regular potato fries come. The cheese curds are the best I've ever had. Service: A Their customer service is good. They've messed up a couple of times on our order and they always correct it. When I ordered " The Poutine " she thought I ordered the poutine fries so she let us keep the fries and ordered The Poutine Burger for me. Next time I'll make sure to say " burger " to respect their food costs and bottom line. But maybe we will just order the Poutine fries too because now we know how delicious they are as well. Ambience: B Is chill. Dark and they will put the game on for you. It's a Greenbay Packer bar hence the B rating instead of A since we're Detroit Lions fans ;D
