Delicious fusion Chinese food. Plenty of vegetarian options. They can make it healthy if you request less oil. Been coming here for years and always tasty. Servers is very sweet and the ambience as family friendly.

Nomad is the best local Chinese Food! We ordered to go frequently and occasionally we dine in. Take out orders travel well, packed to keep the food piping hot! Leftovers reheated very well (take out ir dine in). The quanities are very generous and we usually get several meals out of one order! This visit we dined in. We ordered some of our favorites as it was only two if us dining. Their Hot & Sour Soup is the best in town! Mongolian Beef and Honey Walnut Shrimp are two main dishes we again. Both were excellent! House Fried Rice (includes shrimp, chickenn and beef) is a great choice! Service is always friendly and amazingly fast! Food is freshly prepared. Our server was Mary and she checked on us often. We come here at least a few times a month, definitely coming back soon!

Todat is Valentines Day! I have been sleeping on this establishment for years. I did not know there was a chinese food restaurant in this area. This place is hidden! The only way I found this restaurant was through youtube. There was an old Asian couple that gave this place high praises in their YouTube review. Kudos to that couple for doing so! This is the only reason why I wanted to check this place out myself. Entered this establishment and was greeted by the host. She sat us down next to the glass windows. Asked what we wanted to order for drinks, I stated a Coke and some water. Minutes passed, received our beverages. Water tasted good! Ordered from the Lunch Special menu which was only $15. That is a great deal! It comes with soup, entree and your choice of rice (white rice or brown rice with egg). This Lunch Special starts at the time of opening to 3pm. 7 days a week! Excluding federal holidays. Entrees ordered was snowpea chicken and some beef peppers. The taste and presentation did not dissapoint. They serve you alot of food for being a Lunch Special. The quality is fresh! Overall all I was impressed pertaining to quantity and quality. The ambiance does not have fancy decor or tables/chairs. The place was old school. I felt like I was in the 80s. Lots of parking. Big Kudos to Mary for being so nice. She was busy but still manages to be patient. The only thing that was missing and would like to see is for this place giving free tea out of courtesy. That would be a nice complimentary add to customers. Thumbs up to this chinese restaurant!

Every time I come here, the food is delicious, served hot and fresh, and the restaurant is fully packed with every table taken. Plenty of parking outside and plenty of options on the menu for everyone. Highly recommend this spot for large family gatherings as the food is family style.

Ambiance: it's a family style restaurant with spacious indoor and outdoor dining area, and located in the shared plaza with ample parking available Service: very friendly staff although a bit slow, once you receive the bill, you need to pay at the counter Food: variety choices on their menu, proteins including beef, lamb, chicken, and shrimp Hot & Sour Soup - **** chicken, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tofu, egg, spicy and sour, recommend NOMAD Short Ribs - *** marinated short ribs, wok-tossed with roasted garlic, scallions, dry red chilies, meat tasted old and a bit dry Kung Pao Three Flavors - **** shrimp, chicken, beef, roasted peanuts, scallions, dry red chili, in a kung pao sauce, rich in flavors, recommend Egg Fried Rice - **** steamed rice stir fried with egg, fresh scallions, soy seasoning, recommend Brown Rice - *** average Price: generous portions and reasonable prices for their decent quality, expect $25 per person for a full filing meal

This is a big place with a lot of seating. Some close friends told us about this place, and I made it high time for us to come in for a visit. This place serves traditional Chinese but doesn't have pork. Why you ask? This restaurant is a Chinese Islamic restaurant. They have Arabic artwork and it really works well with everything on the walls. Before I get to the food, I wanted to write about the help. A waitress named Mary came by and sat with us, helping us out figure out what combination of dishes we should have. She was a nicest, most personable person I have ever met. She looked after us from beginning to end. Since my partner wanted the Jalapeño shrimp, we got veggie fried rice, broccoli beef, and chicken chow mein. Before that, she wanted a pair of veggie egg rolls that came with a dip and she really enjoyed them. The food came out, but I waited for everything to come out. It was an amazing array of food that we took into the next day. Everything was great. Chewy and crunchy broccoli, flavorful chow mein, and soft rice. Pricewise, it was just right and i gave this place a great tip . I will definitely come back, and it's nice to know I can move away from express Chinese food for some time now.

Average Chinese Food. The Wonton Soup was decent. It has a dark broth. It was like a War Wonton because it had a bunch of different things in it. The dumplings had nearly nothing inside of them, more like a clump of noodle. The General Tso's Chicken was alright. The Mongolian Beef was a bit sinuey. If we came back we'd all for the Filet Mignon with the Mongolian sauce.

    Plate of shrimp. Walnut shrimp.

I visited this establishment with my mother for evening rations. This was my mother's second visit but my first visit. My mother was happier with this establishment than I was. We were seated and ordered lamb and shrimp. We each ate some lamb and shrimp. A bowl of white rice was also served. I thought that the shrimp was satisfactory and the lamb was good. We were not able to eat all that was served so we took the uneaten portions home in "to go" containers. Men's washroom was satisfactory and paper towels were available... good. The ambient noise level was VERY high which made it extremely difficult to carry on a conversation so I am going to ding this establishment one point. I noticed that at least some of the men who worked at this establishment failed to tuck their shirts in. I consider that to be highly unprofessional so I am dinging this establishment one point for that reason. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school this establishment would be in there solid with a C.

Long Beach: Easy parking in this sizable attractive restaurant with an extensive menu of flavorsome Chinese food using the freshest of ingredients. I recommend eating here with a herd so you can try more dishes. It was just two of us so it was hard to narrow it down without reinforcements. Caramelized Black Pepper Chicken: So tender with a sauce that was drinkable. We tried. It was a toss up between that and the Filet Mignon. Next time we will go in beef mode. We both took home plenty of leftovers. Scallion pancakes: Four massive pieces of deliciousness. Oily on the fingers/worth it. I recommend a minimum of four people or it's going to follow you home as well. Service was immediate and personable. The food came out timely and piping hot. We were there around 8 PM on a Monday so it was fairly quiet. For the size of this restaurant, I could see it getting very busy and loud/Still worth it. It seemed as though we were the only ones who did not order the sesame flatbread. Yes, I do visual food cruises incognito. Again, we'll just have to bring hungry reinforcements next time. No alcohol, but no shortage of places for beer and spirits nearby. BevMo is a neighbor.

I have been wanting to try this place for some time. My first impression is not good. It feels dirty. Not comfortable at all, tables with a cheap vinyl cover. Condiments in the tables have a slimy film on them obviously not cleaned in some time. We should have left but thought the food may be different. We ordered Braised Shrimp (average), Cashew chicken (fast food quality) and Combo Fried Rice (Gross). There were pieces of beef in the rice that were dried out and had a bad taste as if food stored in a freezer the quickly thawed. Overall it was a huge disappointment. Gross, dirty. And they come to your table in hurry making us feel like we need to hurray and get out so that can seat others and make more money. Very Bad!! Look at the "inside" photos on yelp. That will explain

Came here for dinner around 8:45pm last Friday since my friends and I were working on a project nearby. Surprisingly they still let us dine in and the restaurant still remained open with other new customers coming in as we were eating. We were immediately seated and the server was really kind. We were a group of 5 and I definitely did not expect the portion sizes... they were HUGE! It's hard to tell in my pictures but trust me! All of the food was so delicious and flavorful, it's hard to choose a favorite. Everything came out to be steaming hot. It was roughly $20 per dish but the price is WORTH it considering it was very much shareable family style. We had leftovers for 2 days! Definitely would come back here again!!

Nomad Asian Bistro is by far one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Although I feel that it verges on Indo Chinese. I've been a regular there since at least 2017. It is located near PCH and Second Street in Long Beach, a couple hundred feet from BevMo, in the Same Plaza. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. It is a Mother-Daughter owned restaurant and was established in 2013. Jamilla Ma, the mother has an extensive experience in Asian cooking and a passion for combining classic flavors with contemporary techniques. They offer Asian cuisine with influences from China's Hui culture and a focus on fresh, handmade items like their Thin Sesame Flatbread. It is also the only Halal Chinese Restaurant in North America. So, they do not serve pork nor do they offer alcoholic beverages. The quality of their food draws people from all corners of SoCal and beyond. Dinner is always the busiest time and during the month of Ramadan, you can expect to wait an hour or more unless you show up an hour before breaking fast. The restaurant is spacious but yet Cozy. The lighting is comfortable and the earth tones on the walls as well as the simple Chinese decor makes the space very inviting. The setting is casual and family friendly. Noise level is moderate to very loud depending on the day and time. They have a large Tv on the wall with close caption that no one watches. They only serve family style meals. So, it is best to go with 2 or more people or take the family or a group of friends. Otherwise you may have lots of left overs. Every dish is large enough for 2-3 people. On a summer night, I Love sitting on their open air patio that is lit by string lights, while sharing a meal with friends and family under the stars. I could not start by describing the amazing menu. It is extensive and has every Chinese food dish imaginable. Beef, chicken, seafood, vegetarian, rice dishes, hand made noodles and endless combinations and flavors. I'm sure that I'm missing some things. (See pictures for actual full menu) They use the freshest ingredients and everything is made in house. They also have some delicious beverages such as the fresh pressed Ginger ale and their seasonal Peach Ice tea. The List goes on. Some of My favorite items on the Menu are the Hot and sour soup which is full of mushrooms, The orange chicken, The Pineapple fried rice with beef chicken and shrimp, The Pepper Mushroom beef and the chili Chicken. Everything is so delicious. The hand made noodles are a must. The service has always been great and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Nomad Asian Bistro for anyone who has not tried them yet. Happy Eating!!!

Everything was going normally until I got to the sauce options at the end. The employee asked if I wanted barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I didn't hear her clearly at first and said "mild," and she responded in an irritated tone that it was either barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I told her I had never seen the barbecue sauce before and asked what it looked like. She repeatedly just said "it looks like barbecue sauce" instead of simply showing it to me or explaining it. I even asked if she could show me the sauce, and she still responded dismissively and seemed annoyed that I was asking basic questions before deciding what I wanted on my food. What made the interaction worse was that there wasn't even a line or rush happening at the time. I wasn't trying to hold anything up -- I just wanted to know what I was ordering. The receipt listed the employee name as "Estuardo," although the employee helping me was a woman, so the register name may not match the actual employee. I'm leaving this review as constructive feedback because a little patience and friendliness goes a long way with customers.

Great to balance out the savory. 2) Pani Puri Poppers: -These are puffed puri bites and we got this half and half with charred chicken and potatoes. Underneath the puffed puri bites were shot glasses filled with mango and coconut, mint and cilantro, and yogurt and ginger dressing dressing. You pour the dressing into the bite and then shove it in your mouth and enjoy! -I've had something similar before at a different Indian restaurant, but I enjoyed it here much more. Dressings weren't overpoweringly sour like I've had at other places. Very refreshing dressings that went great with the protein/carb fillings. Love the crunch of the puff puri. My favorite was the mango coconut. I love the fruity sweetness with the savory. 3) Cali Chilli Pot Pie: -You get to choose your protein and we chose the lamb rogan josh as we got chicken for our other dish. -Comes out SUPER hot. Even towards the end of our meal, the dish was still steaming hot, but it's super unique and delicious. -The pie crust is mostly just the top of the dish and the rest is curry stew and protein below. Super tender lamb meat and flavorful curry. Nice kick, savory depth of flavor and spices. The pie bread part was moist, tender, top was flaky and delicious. A must. 4) Hariyali Chicken Boti Kebab: -This is part of their limited run Long Beach Food Scene Week menu. -It's a Tandoor (clay oven) combo meal made in an authentic tandoor, making the chicken smoky and slightly charred on the outside, and moist, juicy, and tender on the inside. -This dish comes with a choice of carb and salad, so we got the saffron ghee rice with the Cali Chilli Curry Sauce and the Citrus salad. -Delicious mint and yogurt taste to the chicken, both refreshingly sour and creamy, but herbal as well. There's a kick from the green chilies too, making it a great diverse dish of flavors and textures. I don't drink, so I can't really comment on the quality and taste, but the preparation for my boyfriend's drink was super cool. They used fire and poured it here and there. Truly a dinner and a show. The blue of the fire was super neat and great for videos and photos. Thank you for that! Will definitely come again.

The service was quick, and the menu was easy to order from. The only downside is that parking can be a little difficult to find, but there is street parking and nearby parking lots around the restaurant. I also loved the wall art and overall vibe. Highly recommend checking this place out! We ordered: * Canned Watermelon Frusecha from the fridge - $3.99 * Quesarito Burrito with asada - $19.99 * Added Flamin' Hot Cheetos, nacho cheese, and dusting for an extra $3.99 * Hot Cheetos Balls with sour cream - $20.99

There's nothing else that I can say about this place other than the food sucks and the reviews were very misleading. Only thing I will say is that the staff was kind enough to take my order through the phone so that I can grab and go. I will say that my boyfriend did order tacos and he said he enjoyed the shrimp tacos. But this is my Yelp account not his lol but just wanted to put it out there. Also, it seems that the owner of this place really cares about his business because he reached out to me to try to make things right. Love that. Continue to put love and care into your business., I'm sure it was just an off day and possibly I will be willing to try it again in the future.
