Amaravati is a cozy little spot a strip mall in Los Alamitos. I woke up on Memorial Day craving a dosa. Little India is usually closed on Mondays so I looked on Yelp, and this was the closest place suggested to the pad. I wasn't disappointed at all. The masala dosa was crispy, the chutneys were fire, and the sambar was hearty. (Today I only came for those, but I'll come another day to try their North Indian food.) Between the great food, the marigold garlands, beautiful mural wallpaper, and the absolutely unreasonable amount of south Asian eye candy --including the handsome bespectacled waiter who looked a little bit like Ranbir IYKYK (I was having trouble ordering, he was so cute,) the cricket hotties in sunglasses on the cricket broadcast, and the absolute smokeshow picking up his order at the counter, I will definitely be back. I felt like at this point in time the restaurant was basically flirting with me. I also wish I had taken more pictures of this cute restaurant, but I was too busy being a creeper. I ended my delicious meal with piping hot chai and also equally warm, fresh gulab jamun and accidentally created a dessert science experiment by pouring warm gulab jamun syrup into the chai to sweeten it, and it was the best decision ever. Good restaurant for everyone, but for South Asians, it's a comforting diaspora space where you actually want to linger for a while instead of just eating and rushing out.

Came here on a whim and was not disappointed. The restaurant was almost empty so we may have had more attention than if it was busy. Our server was pleasant and helpful. I don't really eat spicy food and she showed genuine care. The samoas were a little spicy for me with the tamarind sauce on them but the flavor was wonderful. The palak paneer was fantastic and zero heat spice. The chicken tikka masala was a little too spicy for me at the mildest level but I understood that would be possible because of the everyday spices in the dish. The garlic naan was also delish! We will be returning.

Ordered from restaurant again. The chicken tikka masala was extremely dry, but the paneer butter masala was delicious as the texture and flavor hit the spot. 10/10 for the paneer and would recommend.

Ordered for takeout over the phone for NYE. Though I was told it would take about 15 minutes, I waited a bit longer for my items: - Chicken Tikka Masala (spicy): Though the chicken was a tad bit dry, this curry was exactly what I was craving. Savory and spicy with surprising bits of pepper, this dish was a very welcomed contrast to the version from India House in Buena Park that I found sweet for some reason. - Garlic Naan: Light, airy, and a nice complement to the curry. - Samosas: Probably the best item I ordered. Aromatic, crispy exterior with delicious potatoes and vegetables inside. I'm sad I requested only 1 order of it. Though 1 order comes with 2 pieces, it was so delicious that I was craving more after it was eaten. I definitely see myself ordering from here again.

Food is not that great. Tandoori chicken is too salty. One thing I am not happy about my son ate the carrot desert. He found a piece of metal inside. See the picture. The garlic Nan is not fried enough, it has no flavor. My son said he would not go back.

I was craving for some dosas and idlis so thought of checking this place out, because an Indian had highly recommended it. This place is nice and spacious, staff are polite and courteous but the food was quite disappointing. We ordered a few South Indian items - Plain Vada, Masala Dosa, Paper Dosa and Plain Idli. The vada and dosas were very greasy. The idlis were not really soft (although I am not much experienced, I still make better idlis and dosas at home!). Only the chutneys and sambar were tasty and good. I can't speak for the North Indian food, because we didn't try them. Definitely not going back for a South Indian food experience for sure. I really wished to write a good review before visiting this place because of how highly someone spoke of it, but this place failed us food wise. :(

This restaurant is brand new! This location has had some trouble filling some decent restaurants so I hope this one sticks. Upon walking in the decor is very simple nothing fancy. Portions are incredibly generous, which I love. We had an only ordered three things and had more than enough for an extra meal for the next day. Prices are reasonable, and the flavor profile was nice. I really enjoyed the meal. Service was excellent. We walked in on a 9 PM and they are one of the few to be open past nine in Los Alamitos so I appreciate that. Would definitely come back and try other things !

Well, I was excited when this place first opened as I love Indian food and I couldn't wait to try this new spot. I went to the restaurant to order for takeout so that way I could check out the menu in person and see what they recommended. Now the restaurant is pretty bland inside and I get it,They're new so let's give them some time to maybe add some life to this spot. Now here's the reason for the two star review. I came in on Friday night and it was not too busy inside. I was told it to be a 45 minute wait and I was fine with that but let me tell you that all changed. I ended up waiting 1 1/2 hours for my to go order . That's not an exaggeration that's not a made up number that's the truth. The food itself was not bad at all but it's hard to really enjoy food when you set out at 5:45 and by the time you get home with the food it's 745. I don't care how good it is. It's just not worth the wait . The person in charge I'm assuming it's the owner was all over the place, taking orders, being a waiter, answering phones, and checking on stuff also. Now I know some people are gonna say it's new and it takes time to get used to some stuff, but they really need more staff because they're falling far behind. Like I said, the food was pretty good, I got multiple dishes and I will post pics and it was all decent, but there was a lack of chicken in mostly all the dishes, some stuff was cooked faster than others so by the time it was all done somewhere hot and somewhere cold and that's a no go. If you've got a bunch of time to waste go check this place out see for yourself what waiting for an hour and a half feels like .

I came with my BFF to celebrate her upcoming birthday. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of dosas they had and we both liked the vegetable spring dosa. It was giant! We also got the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer and garden naan. There was enough for our lunch and enough to take home for two more lunches. They server will offer you different spice levels for certain dishes. They also have a lunch buffet, but we were being calorie conscious. Excellent food, nice decor, great service and value - I would definitely come back here.

Returned for the lunch buffet and the entrees were excellent, though obviously not as fresh as dinner items made-to-order. I did wish they had some of the items found at other Indian lunch buffets, such as raita, samosas, and fruit, but overall it was tasty and a good value. The butter naan included with the buffet was also good, though the garlic naan I had previously was even better.

never driving to Long Beach to get Indian food. This place beats all of them! the garlic naan was like glazed with garlic oil or truffe oil. it was slappin! I left full and will definitely be back to try more from their menu. this place is a hidden gem. i came on a Thursday night and they werent crowded like the other restaurant on los al. Service was excellent.

Wow, this is the place you have been searching for, when it comes to delicious Indian cuisine. I rate Armaravati Cuisine tied for the best, I have ever tasted. The service was politely outstanding. A nice clean quality restaurant. In addition they have a beverage bar. The high quality starts as soon as you open the door, the aromatic spices reach you and you start to smile. Seating is spacious for a small place. Did I mention it was extremely clean and the people serving are so nice. My photos of the buffet.

This restaurant is located in the corner of a small plaza. Upon walking in we were surprised by the warm ambiance of the restaurant with festive lighting and welcoming staff. We were seated immediately and our server provided us with recommendations. Although the menu was overwhelming at first, every item recommended to us was delicious and we will be back for more. We ordered the palak paneer, chicken biryani, and dosa. Everything was fresh, portions were large and reasonably priced, we had enough for two meals. Food: 9.5/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Overall: 9.2/10

The butter chicken is my favorite, I know it's the most basic b Indian food but everything I've tried has been awesome. Sangeetha's cooking has made me ok with trying some vegetarian food when I thought I'd never like any non meat-centric dish. Swing by, try something new or enjoy something old. Relevant - it's not super spicy, but that's ok to me, it's more accessible to people that might be turned off by excessive spice - I have some scorpion pepper powder that I add to bring the heat, and it doesn't hurt the flavor that I've come to love. They're not open Mondays, but hey - she deserves time off! A suggestion if I may - grab an extra bowl of butter chicken alongside whatever else you get, and throw a fried egg or two on top the next morning for breakfast. DOES NOT HAVE BANANAS! As a professional simian that is of note, but not a negative ;) There are random snacks I've never seen before, I've tried a few and have been happy with what I've sampled. The bottles of mango lassi are super tasty and for me, it helps my heartburn.

I don't think three stars is bad. So just to restate. The food is not bad. But I'm not going to take this review down because I don't feel like it's appropriate for the owner to message you privately with an attitude and try to strong-arm you into taking down the review. I have left plenty of reviews about restaurants in Little India, and not once as anybody messaged me with the tone that you have used with me. So I'm leaving it up. Live and learn. It wasn't bad but your approach to dealing with your customers is. I don't think that Yelp has the option of messaging people so you can come at them with a shitty attitude and strong-arm them into trying to change their review. You're honestly just making yourself look worse.

AMRITSARI KULCHA First time trying this type of flat bread. It is a North Indian stuffed flat bread. Originated from Amritsar, Punjab. It is a favorite street food. This is usually eaten with Chole, a spicy chickpea curry. The amitsari kulcha had mostly mashed potatoes and some paneer cheese. Various herbs in it, lots of herbs in it. It took me a bit to adjust to the herbacious flavors. This was reheated in the toaster oven until slightly crispy and it was delicious! You must reheat before you eat! This went really well with the Punjabi Butter Chicken I ordered. SAMOSA Flaky dough stuffed with spiced potatoes and peas. Delicious and this was my second time ordering it! I think this will be my go to place for potato samosas! And yes, reheat in toaster oven before consumption! PUNJABI BUTTER CHICKEN A popular Indian dish originating in Punjab. Tender chicken pieces in tomato-based sauce with butter and cream. Chicken marinated in spiced yogurt mix and cooked in a tandoor and grilled. The chicken has different pieces, such as legs, thighs and breast meat. All have bones in them. But there were about 4-5 pieces of chicken. They ask for your preference of spice levels, so I got medium spice. It was spicy! Spice lingers on your tongue and in your stomach too! Made my own basmati rice at home, so did not order it, but you definitely need the basmati rice to soak up all the flavors of the butter chicken! So delicious to eat with the aromatic, sweet basmati rice! This was also delicious with flat bread, but I absolutely loved it with basmati rice. NAAN (PLAIN) Wanted naan, so I ordered it plain. This was not oily and you can taste the ghee. The naan wasn't even in thickness. Parts of the naan that were thinner were crispy and thicker were fluffy and soft. It had very little herbs, so it had a clean, ghee flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE Staff who took my order over the phone was kind, patient and spoke clearly and slowly. He made sure that my order was correct. All my orders were received and well packaged with saran wrap to ensure the food stays hot and does not spill. They even added utensils too, which I appreciate. My food was not fully prepared at the set time, however, they gave me a courtesy call to let me know. But I let them know it wasn't a big deal because I was also running late. Lol. Location is far from where I live, but if I am in the area, I am definitely returning! Delicious food, good service all around! A very happy customer! Cannot wait to try new dishes in the near future!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great food in a pleasant atmosphere…read more The hubby and I came to meet up with another couple for a weekend lunch. When we got there at 11:30 it was quite empty, but by the time we left it was nearly full--a popular spot, and we could see why. We were rather pleasantly surprised at how upscale it looked in here--all cloth napkins, white tablecloths, and a recently renovated-looking interior with lots of dark wood. There were lots of options on their lunch special menu, which they even have on the weekends, and even more on their regular menu. I had the paneer tikka masala lunch special and the hubby had the saag paneer lunch special. All the lunch specials come with rice, salad greens, lentil soup, naan, a mini samosa (on attractive metal serving ware), along with self serve coffee and chai. At $16.95 as of this writing, we thought it was a great deal. The hubby and I shared our food and thought it was very good overall. I thought the saag was a touch too salty but it didn't mean I hated it. They do serve alcohol here, although we didn't imbibe on our visit. As for parking, they have a small front parking lot and a larger back lot (which we weren't aware of until our friends told us). If you want good Indian food with very attentive service in a slightly upscale setting, this is a good choice.

If someone asks where to go for South Asian food, I always suggest The India Restaurant. The food…read moreis great, the service is friendly, and the restaurant is cozy. Diving into the details - the restaurant decor is quite formal and has always been kind of surprising to be given that I often come for casual meals. The staff are well dressed in white button ups and always very polite so it's good vibes all around. If you know me, I'm nothing if not predictable. I always get the butter chicken and unapologetically so. IT IS SO GOOD. I refuse to be shamed into trying other things and if that makes me basic, so be it. In case you haven't guessed, I'm also always getting their garlic naan as well. I've tried other dishes before but nothing beats the chicken. One thing I will say is the spiciness fluctuates every time even though I always ask for medium so do with that what you will.

Don't hesitate to eat here…read more Great Thai restaurant hidden in a roadside complex where all the businesses look the same. There's even a hidden 7-eleven in there. On my way to my hotel, looking for a dinner spot, the name caught my eye. I decided to double back and was the best decision I had made all day. Single dining room restaurant with friendly polite young staff. One double-sided menu makes it easy for ordering. This evening, I ordered Thai Iced Tea, Massaman short rib curry, and the coconut rabbit dumplings. The coconut rabbit dumplings were over the top good! Uniquely prepared fried dumplings filled with ground seasoned meat and skewered on a tiny wooden pick with cucumber, papaya or mango, pepper relish was amazing. This is reason enough to dine here! The Thai iced tea was perfect. The Massaman curry was done right and with short rib meat was absolutely delicious. I think I would try it with pork next time. But if there is a next time, I probably would try their green curry. It was a tough choice. But I didn't regret my decision. This was my first visit, but not my last.

Good Thai Food, Service Could Be More Attentive…read more Visited: August 4, 2026 Location: Coconut Rabbit Thai Bistro, 4280 Katella Ave., Los Alamitos, CA 90720 We recently had dinner at Coconut Rabbit Thai Bistro and overall had a decent experience. The Pad Thai with chicken ($17) was one of the better dishes we tried--good flavor and nicely prepared. The cream cheese wontons ($11) were also very good and probably one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the coconut dumplings ($14), spicy edamame ($7), pineapple fried rice ($19), garlic pepper beef ($19), and pumpkin curry with shrimp ($22). Everything else was okay, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. We also had two Thai iced teas ($12 total). The biggest drawback was the service. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely not very attentive. We would have appreciated the server checking on the table more often, especially during the meal. Our total was $121 before tax, plus $11.19 tax, bringing the bill to $132.19 before tip. Overall, I'd give Coconut Rabbit 3.5 stars. The Pad Thai and cream cheese wontons were the standouts, while the rest of the food was average. With more attentive service and a little more consistency across the dishes, this could easily be a four-star experience.
