i was around the area and was looking for something to eat...the only reason i picked this place over other restaurant was that it offered orange bang. honestly, any place that offers that drink is a winner in my book. i went ahead and ordered a cali burrito. if you don't know what a cali burrito, its like carne asada fries wrapped inside a burrito. its easier to eat and still contains all the flavors. if you eat here, you'll get the chance to try all the three bottle sauces... however, if you take it to go, you will also get the cali sauce. the cali sauce is best described as spicy mayo sauce. i don't know what's in it, but its pretty bomb. as for the burrito, they pack a punch. they really are massive... you get to choose your meats, and for the cali burrito, it was really flavorful. they also have a sauce bar. there's not a lot of seats inside, but they do offer outdoor seating as well. bathrooms are located outside the place and i believe you need a key to get inside. read more

All I have to say is some of the biggest tacos I have ever seen!!! They are so huge that they come in individual plates!! The tortillas are very good which make the taco good but I think It was too overloaded with the carne asada. Don't get me wrong I love carne asada but it was too over powering and kind of dry. The fish taco on the other hand was very good. I enjoyed the sauce that came with it and the shredded cabbage was a nice touch. The chips were very tasty, they had the perfect amount of salt, they might be homemade but I'm not sure. My boyfriend got the Cali burrito that came with fries inside, I took a bite and all I can taste was mostly the fries. I will have to try the burrito next time and maybe share it with someone because its enormous. Usually, when a food item is described as "enough to feed two people" it ends up being just right for me if I'm hungry. And after the Angels game last night, I was really hungry, and looking for a non-fast food option with late-night hours. Yelp led me to Cali Tacos, and the reviews pointed me in the direction of the Angel burrito. Seemed like an obvious choice, coming from an Angel game and the "big enough for 2" reviews. I'm here to confirm it: the Angel burrito is most definitely big enough to feed two people, no exaggeration! Maybe even 3. I only got halfway through it, saved the rest for lunch the next day. And it's not just big in size, it's big on quality and taste too. Possibly the most epic burrito I've ever had. I may have had tastier burritos, but never anything that ranked this high in both quantity and quality. Even at $10, it's a good value. You have your choice of meats which include carne asada, pollo asada, carnitas, or adobada. For both items, I picked the carne asada. Angel Burrito: 4.5/5 The Angel Burrito was huge! It can easily feed 2 stuffed individuals or 3 very satisfied individuals. The burrito was stuffed with carne asada, shrimp, fries, sour cream, guacamole, and Cali sauce. I didn't really taste the guacamole but it was definitely more meat filled which I prefer in burritos. Supreme Fries: 4/5 The Supreme Fries does live to its name of being supreme though! It's a massive amount of fries overloaded with toppings of carne asada (my meat choice), cheese, guacamole, sour cream, pico, and beans. I thought there would have been some type of kick in it but sadly that didn't happen. Instead, what you can use is their green sauce to spice it up. Now that's when the whole combo worked together! Don't forget to get some green sauce and the orange sauce. The green sauce is more of a lime flavor and the orange sauce is more of a chipotle flavor. If you want genuine tasting, gut-busting, Mexican food, fast, then these places will always be there for you. Sadly, the quality at each of these "-bertos" places is VERY uneven. Heck, even the Alberto's joints have vastly different qualities, from location to location. Wouldn't it be great if there was a place with the SAME menu, but MUCH better quality ingredients and service? Well, Cali's Tacos is the answer. It's rare that I can say that I found something comparable to a good San Diego burrito. A burrito, not really Mexican, it just came along, an American fusion if you really think about it, but delicious nonetheless. I got one of their burritos, it was made to perfection!! The flavors inside it were so tasty, I think there was some sour cream, some guac, it was a great wrap, filled with colorful delights. And the most important part, the salsa I loved the amount of heat on it. This is a must try! We called ahead for the rolled tacos and bean burrito around 5:30. We were told it would be 10 to 15 minutes. I arrived and waited in line to pay for the food. The meal was paid for at 5:54 (per receipt print out). I stood and waited for my item number 396 to be called for 30 minutes at when I asked it was ready, Claudia told be it wasn't ready yet. At 6:50 I told her I paid for my food an hour earlier, at that point she looked behind her on at the food on the counter and takes my food. Hands it to me and says "Oh sorry". I've driven past this establishment many times and decided to pay a visit this past Thursday. I was jonesing a burrito so I decided to get the Cali Burrito. When the cashier brought me the burrito I thought it was a mistake. He handed me a tray with one of the biggest burritos I've ever seen accompanied by three squeeze bottles of salsa : roja, verde, and chipotle. I took the first bite and was automatically hooked. I ordered the CaliTaco Carne Asada. The tastiest carne asada fancied my palate. The burrito had french fries, cheese, and beans. It looked like it weighed 3 pounds. I felt like Adam Richman on one of his Man vs. Food's episodes. I liked my first experience so much I went there for lunch today and had their fish taco and carne asada taco. i tried this taco spot for the first time cause a lot of people said its good. i found it to be overhyped. i waited 45 mins for my order when they said it would be a 25 minute wait. they said they have agua frescas but it was from the soda fountain, i dont consider that to be an agua fresca though. the most disappointing part was the tacos :/ they were dry and cold and had no flavor. i dont see myself coming back but i hope someone might find my review helpful ! read more

Customer service is horrible the two ladies at the register were not friendly whatsoever they didn't even smile. They give you the smallest limes in the world in a little ziploc bag so they don't give you the freedom of getting as many as you'd like. This is a small shop in a small shopping center which means parking is extremely limited! Seating is also very limited and it's mostly outside so bring a sweater during winter time. Also all of their salsas sucked they tasted like straight up vinegar and the Cali sauce was just mayo and some chipotle. I wanted to try this place cuz their Instagram makes it look so good and full of meat and cheese, they really just sell it on those pictures. Came in on a Frida night for some dinner. The place is small and is tucked in the corner of a strip mall. We ordered the supreme chips with carne asada, two adobado tacos and an order of the rolled tacos (5 pieces). The total came out to $21.27. We didn't dine there as the location is small and only had 3-4 tables inside and 3 tables in a courtyard outside. The supreme chips aka nachos were huge. It featured crunchy chips, chunks/strips of carne asada, pinto beans, guac, sour cream, Pico de gallo, shredded cheese and cotija cheese. Pretty great flavors and nice crunchy chips. Would totally order again. The adobado tacos came double wrapped in tortillas and had guac across the bottom, a generous amount of meat and covered in Pico de gallo. The tortillas are probably 4-5 inches, so these are pretty hefty tacos! Delicious flavor in the adobado and the green (tomatillo) salsa they have at their salsa bar only adds to the deliciousness. Word order these again as well. Lastly, the rolled tacos or as we all know them tacquitos. I only ate 1 of 5. The presentation is great, 5 neatly rolled tacos covered in guac, melted cheese and cotija. But they lost me with their flavors. The tortilla wasn't crunchy enough and the tortilla was actually dense. The meat was shredded beef and the flavor of it tasted stewed, which makes sense but was not appetizing for me. I wouldn't order these again. The red and green salsa at their salsa bar are delicious. Enjoyed both and both had a nice heat to them that allowed you to eat them throughout the entire meal. But never fear, they do have regular size food too. When we pulled into the parking lot around 8:30ish (on a week night), they were visibly busy. Good sign, right? We had to wait probably around 10 minutes for our food after ordering, but I didn't mind. I was hoping that was a sign that our food was being made fresh; and, no doubt, it was! For our first time at Cali Tacos, I had the taquito plate & a fish taco and my boyfriend had a shrimp burrito combo. His burrito was super yummy! The shrimp were cooked perfectly & he said he got shrimp in every bite. Win!! My taquitos were smothered in guac & cheese, just how I like them. They were super crispy & the meat wasn't overly dry or stringy. My fish taco was amazeballs. 3 huge pieces of fish on 2 corn tortillas with a generous topping of sauce, pico and cabbage. This taco was seriously huge, and seriously tasty. The only thing that I didn't like was the portion size of the sides. You only get a tiny scoop of (delicious) beans & rice with the combos. Prior to my relocation to OC, I lived in San Diego where "Sarita's taco shop" is famous for their Mexican food. Cali tacos reminded me of them and to my surprise, they are an offshoot of the same owners! Iconic!!! This has been like a dream come true moving to OC and having a part of home closeby. Food: No complaints. The meat is good, always cooked well. The seafood tacos are always breaded to perfection and delicious each time Portions are very generous, the tacos come with a double yellow corn tortillas and with enough meat that one taco is the equivalent to two. The rolled tacos are crisped to perfection each time and they are generous with the cheese and guacamole toppings. The burritos are just *chef's kiss* DELICIOUS. I can't speak about the carne asada fries cuz I always stick to tacos and rolled tacos. Ordering: this place is BUSY on weekends and some weeknights, so if you plan to order at the counter be prepared for a wait time. The wait time is completely WORTH it as the food and price are incomparable. Parking: not the best situation, the lot is pretty small and it is shared by other businesses with constant traffic as well. Question: is this a taco or is a burrito? Because this thing is as big as my face. Talk about getting the bang for your buck, these tacos are so giant, they can almost double as burritos. These are no ordinary "street tacos" that you are used to seeing. I think the tortillas are about the size of what a rolled taco would be, and with plenty of meat and other goodies. It's stacked so high, it comes open on a plate, because I think it would be impossible to fold it up like an actual taco without any of the stuff falling out. It looks like all portions are big here..I've seen people with burritos the size of a forearm! It also comes with guacamole, because you can't be a California taco without guac! I had both the pollo and carne asda, and both were delicious. The carne was not overcooked and was packed with flavor. Just a tip: if you don't want to wait 30+ minutes to get your food, call in your order, especially during the lunch/dinner rush. There is only one line to pay (and that includes people who phoned in their orders) so you are going to be waiting a very long time to get your food if you did not pre-order. Burrito contents - Meat (chicken) not shredded like Alertos more like chopped meat similar to Flame Broiler, pico de gallo, guacamole, that's it (no rice & bean fillers). Salsa and chipotle sauce offered on the side along with a bag of carrots & Jalapeno pepper. Burrito seemed a bit salty but that's my opinion, I can't complain. Burrito had enough spice to open up your palate, but not spicy at all. Overall great flavor. Burrito is larger than most I've had anywhere. Service was great. The tacos were about $3 each which we thought was pretty pricey. The tacos took 10 minutes to make, maybe even longer. Yikes!
