Caldo de res
Lucy O.

This is one of my favorite places to go to when I'm craving Mexican food. I've always liked coming here, but I was recently wowed by their caldo de res. I usually don't crave caldos, but I decided to try it since I was sick and it was so cold. The caldo de res was incredible! 10/10- so authentic, comforting, and delicious! It was as good as the caldos I've tried in Mexico and really tastes homemade. The meat they use is so tender, the broth is flavorful, and it comes with plenty of vegetables. They give you a large portion too. I loved how the caldo came with finely chopped pieces of onion, cilantro, rice, and limes as well. I now look forward to also trying their caldo de pollo and albondigas. Other than the caldo, their chile relleno is amazing! It was pretty perfect imo. I'm a huge fan of chile relleno, and theirs has just the right amount of cheese inside and egg coating on the outside of the chile. Their chiles are also not undercooked or overcooked and come with a delicious sauce. The caldo de res and chile relleno are some of my favorite items; however, this restaurant has so much more to offer. They have great options including breakfast, pan dulce, coffee, champurrado, aguas frescas, and so many traditional Mexican dishes. The servers and cashier are friendly and the restaurant is clean. There is plenty of seating inside and usually parking in the parking lot right in front. Definitely a go-to spot for Mexican food in Orange.

If you are hungry for breakfast and you spot a busy Mexican place, open early, with guys in fluorescent long sleeve shirts standing in line, you must stop. The food is going to be good, cheap and filling, All the breakfast specialities are well under $10. Chilaquiles, breakfast bolillos, tacos, tacos dorado de chorizo, etc. Fresh aguas frescas (that's redundant) and an entire bakery section of Mexican sweet breads and pastries. Today I had a machaca bollilo, it had beans, shredded beef and real egg on a soft roll, It was as filling as a typical breakfast burrito and less than $5. I have been here several times and it never disappoints.

My lady and I were hungry, and she recommended El Molino de Oro. They have two sides. One for pastries, and the other for food. I didn't visit the pastry side, but it was packed. The food side was packed as well. My lady ordered some breakfast items; I had an Asada taco and the 3-cheese enchilada combo. She had some Mexican beverage I had a can of Coke. I wanted a fountain drink but the machine wasn't working. I think it will be fixed after the repairman fixes the frosty machine at McDonalds. I loved my food. As simple as cheese enchiladas are some places just don't get it. The are perfect here. The Asada taco was loaded with meat. I used some of the meat in my rice and beans. My tummy was very happy. My lady also loved her food. I really recommend this place and I'll be back soon.

El Molino de Oro is one of my favorite places to eat. Their tacos and burritos de lengua and buches are amazing, full of flavor and always fresh. The service is great, everyone is friendly, and the restaurant is always clean.

One of my favorite Mexican food spots in Orange County I like to come here after the gym if you're looking for organic handmade tortillas this is the place there. Carne Asada tacos are really hefty if you're used to eating 4 to 5 standard size tacos you'll honestly be satisfied with 2 to 3 on weekends they serve posole and Menudo. I always pair it with their banana Fresca, which is honestly probably the only reason I will drive 25 minutes to this location. It's really good and service is fast The only trouble I have is deciding on what to eat. So far, I've had the ceviche tacos and soups all really good.

Arrived at 8:15 AM. Gave up at 8:30 AM. The line had not moved. I estimate it would have been twenty more minutes to get our order taken.

Great food! Family deal is a great price. Wish they hadn't changed chip recipe though. Al pastor is my favorite.

Don't get me wrong, I like the cakes and food from here. But some of their cashiers have have bad attitudes and just seem mean. :(

Perhaps one of my new fave dessert shops. It's a bummer it's so far from me, but I'm glad to have…read morediscovered it. I got the ube tiramisu and a few cookies. My goodness were they amazing! I had to stop myself from inhaling the delicious sweet treats. This is a micro bakery located inside a foodhall. Do yourself a favor and check this place out next time you're in OC. I know I'll sure be back!

I was excited to try this Asian inspired dessert shop located in the 4th St Market but the hours…read moreare a bit sporadic so I finally made it out recently. Santa Ana downtown is all metered street parking so be prepared to pay for parking. The stand is located right in front of the market so it isn't too hard to find. It's in the market so there's open seating and can get quite loud if there's a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was greeted very poorly when I got here. No one was available to help and periodically she would yell over to see if I was ready to order in a very bad tone. When I asked about the cheesecake selection, she said "you have to wait 30 min." I then asked what flavor it is and she said "pandan pineapple" in an annoyed tone. I asked if there were any other flavors and she said "no because I still need to decorate. You should really come later at night." I'm used to bakeries selling out later in the day but I guess it's opposite here. As if it couldn't get worse, I asked her if there are any coffees she recommended, and she said "viet coffee." I then said viet coffee is usually too strong for me and asked if there were any other recommendations and she doubled down and used a horrible tone to say "I already said I recommend the viet coffee." Therefore I opted to just not order coffee at this time. I ended up still ordering 2 cookies: miso toffee which was too firm and the ube coconut which actually was well balanced and had a nice coconut filling. I really hope they improve their customer service.
