We came in last night at 8:30. I had put in a reservation on Yelp ahead of time just in case there was a wait. When we got there, I let the server know but it didn't seem to matter because he didn't ask my name or time, he just seated us. That works for me! Glad we didn't have to wait, we had to make it a fast meal! We waited about 5 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. I had seen they had just started serving the soft serve margaritas on their IG and I was SUPER excited to order one! I asked our waitress (Rosie) what flavors were available and she had to ask someone else. Ok, no worries, they had mango and strawberry. I asked for a swirl. My husband ordered a shot of patron anejo sherry cask. She did not seem to understand what he was asking for even though it was an item listed on the menu. He repeated himself a couple times and even pointed to it on the menu before she said "I'll have to check with the bar" she took the rest of our order which consisted of another cocktail, the empanadas, and an order of enchiladas. She left for a bit and came back saying they had his tequila. Then another waitress came back a few moments later asking how he wanted his tequila. After our order was in, we received our chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious! Not too long after, my empanadas came out and they were overdone. Burnt. The pastry was bitter, but not just because it was overcooked, but because it seems like the oil was old. The filling wasn't what I was expecting, but it was tasty. My husband's enchiladas were good. I had one bite. After our meal, husband ordered one more cocktail and the dessert chimichanga. Same bitter oil taste on the chimichanga, I wasn't a fan. When we were brought the check, it turns out we were overcharged for the tequila. We brought it up to the waitress and she told him he ordered a different one when he had repeated "patron anejo sherry cask" to her multiple times. I don't even know if there's more than one sherry cask tequila on the menu! Anyway, she was able to adjust the bill to charge us for the correct tequila but the husband still didn't get to drink the tequila he wanted. Oh well. read more

Hey Flavor Budz! Met up with my girls here for Sunday Funday and was thoroughly impressed, to say the least. The staff was genuinely pleasant, providing a welcoming vibe. We dined in for the brunch buffet and had a great time! Listen, that pineapple margarita was the paid actor because, baby, the giggles, cheers, and storytelling never stopped. The food options were plentiful, and the fresh omelet and taco station made me hit my happy dance! The variety included Mexican fusion with American twice. I have come to this location in the past but its been a few months from my last visit. But the servers and food are still great they are amazing. What I didnt like about the atmosphere is the manager or supervisor that was there. He is a man with light brown hair and bearded. He would knowledge certain tables and ignore others, for those certain tables that he would knowledge he would prepared drinks and serve them. We were there for the buffet and after we paid, we wanted to give a tip to the gentleman at taco station because we love the service he gave, Now we didnt just walked over and handed him the tip, we asked our server if it was alright to tip him, she said yes that there should be a box by the tacos station. We walked over and checked if there was (there wasnt), mind you that this manager/supervisor follows us, we handed him the tip thanked him and left as we are leaving he is still proceeding to follow us until we are out of the restaurant. I dont know what his deal was or his thoughts about us tipping but I felt like we were doing something that I wasnt supposed to do. Its just disappointing because I like coming here but after this experience I might have to think twice. read more

Came here for lunch. The place has a fun and vibrant vibe! I wish we could have gone at night to fully enjoy the ambiance. The staff is really nice and we were seated right away. We ordered a margarita flight, then got asada and chicharon tacos, and asada fajitas for our entrees. To finish the meal on a sweet note, we ordered the apple chimichanga for dessert. Margarita Flight- The presentation is so cute and they start by lighting the board on fire. The flight comes with pepino, guava, jamaica, and chamoyada. I appreciate the range of flavors and they were all tasty. The pepino was my favorite, it was sweet and refreshing. Asada Taco- Love the house made corn tortilla! The asada was juicy and tender. It had a lovely flavor and I appreciate the generous amount of filling. Chicharon Taco- Pork belly tender with a light crisp on the skin. It was seasoned to perfection. Asada Fajitas- I love the extra smoky char brought on by the sizzling platter. It was served on a bed of onions, tomatoes, bellpeppers, and mushrooms. Apple Chimichanga- The apple filling had a delightful amount of cinnamon sugar. The shell was warm and crisp. The whipped cream and vanilla ice cream provided a nice contrast and tied the flavors together. Great experience overall! read more

This place has delicious food, but their customer service could really improve. My wife and I placed an online order to eat during lunch break from work. We were given a time frame of 12:50-1:10 to pick the food up. We got there at 1:10 and did not receive our food until about 1:35. I could tell they were giving us the run around when I asked why it was taking so long when they only had 3 customers in the restaurant! If it was busy, I understand but it wasn't! We spent almost half of our lunch break just waiting for the food. RIDICULOUS!! And this has also happened to other co workers. Our mistake for not believing them. Also, this place had an expired business license. This location doesn't seem to be well organized. Do yourself a favor, and take the drive to a different location if you really want food from here. read more

We landed here before a concert at the Honda Center because everything closer to the venue was absolutely packed, and honestly, that turned out to be a win. We've been to Kalaveras locations before and enjoy the brand, and this location delivered exactly what we expected. One thing you can count on with Kalaveras is consistency: similar vibe, similar menu, and a similar high-energy experience no matter which location you visit. The Orange spot is no different. The interior is vibrant and lively, with bold colors and neon accents that immediately set the mood. It's festive, upbeat, and a fun place to kick off a night out before a show. Food-wise, we were very happy. The birria tacos were flavorful, rich, and satisfying (see picture), exactly what you want when you're hungry and gearing up for a concert. I also enjoyed the house burrito, which was a hit and easily holds its own among the many options on the menu. All in all, great food, a fun atmosphere, and a solid alternative when the area around Honda Center is slammed. We'd absolutely do it again. Atrocious parking aka find a place to park in another plaza nearby or risk being towed by parking next door. Came for our friend's birthday and the environment was super lively + the servers helped make the experience memorable by bringing out our friend's cake and a sign. Not only is it beautiful, it has very good ambience, very fun and an overall wonderful experience! I loved it!! Just wanting to see and experience Kalaveras (after seeing that their multiple locations are highly rated), we went in for a drink and small bites. The cocktail and food presentation was colorful and attractive; their Esquite was OK. Service, while pleasant enough, wasn't warm, friendly, or welcoming -- actually, a bit distracted -- at the bar top; maybe because we were there at a very quiet time? We were left on our own for some time, which made the decision to stick to one cocktail each an easy one. Perhaps visiting during a more active time with a group of friends, and trying other items off the menu may improve my rating; based on this first impression, however, the overall atmosphere was just not for me/us. We were really looking forward to watching the Canelo vs. Crawford fight and decided to order takeout from Kalaveras (Orange location). Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing compared to the Newport location. We ordered wings and taquitos (chicken and potato). To our shock, we found a string inside one of the taquitos. We even called to complain right away, but we decided to give the food the benefit of the doubt and continue eating. To our disappointment, we kept finding more strings in the taquitos. At that point, it was clear that quality control is completely lacking at this location. On top of that, the wings weren't fresh and tasted nothing like the ones we've had at Newport. It's really a shame because the Newport location always delivers great food and excellent customer service. The Orange location, however, doesn't seem to have the same standards--it was a horrible experience, and we won't be ordering from here again. We'll stick to the Newport location, where the food and service are consistently good. read more

Came for taco Tuesday lunch. Nice set up with a taco bar. For $1.99 each it was pretty good. I also hovered beans in the side. They were good, not great. I believe there were 6 meats to choose from.,Fish and steak were extra and had to be ordered. There were 3 salsas, pickled veggies, etc. You add them after you're given your tacos. Maybe this is normal for street tacos, but the single, very small tortillas just fall apart when you try to pick them up. Service was good. It wasn't very busy at 1pm. I would probably go back and try some menu items. read more

Upon walking in, it feels like you're thrown back into your clubbing days; music blaring so loud you can't hear the person next to you but you're greeted by a server handing out shots for "hot" people LOL If that's your jam, this place is for you. The food is actually pretty great though and I'd recommend getting the taco buffet special. read more

Very disappointed with our experience. The bathrooms were in unacceptable condition, no toilet paper and no paper towels to dry your hands, which is a major issue for any restaurant. On top of that, service was extremely slow even though it was not busy. It took about 15 minutes just to receive our drinks, and no one ever came around to refill our water, we had to ask for it ourselves. That alone is not okay. To make matters worse, we noticed our drinks were extremely inconsistent. We poured one glass into another and it ended up being only half a drink. When we brought this up, it made us question how many customers are being short-poured without realizing it. Between the lack of basic restroom supplies, poor service, and questionable drink portions, it felt like corners were being cut at the expense of customers. Walking into this spot was like stepping into a neon nightclub with glowing skulls behind the bar, and a chill vibe that makes you wanna grab a drink and stay a while. I went with the Klassic Burrito (Wet) The presentation alone deserves applause, it was drenched in both red and green sauces, topped with crema, guacamolito, and fresh pico de gallo, all plated up with escabeche carrots and a grilled chile on the side. The burrito itself was stuffed with tender beans, fluffy rice, melted cheese, and juicy carnitas though you can pick your protein. Every bite had that perfect balance of textures and flavors. The sauces were bold but not overpowering, adding depth without stealing the show. That creamy guacamolito and tangy molcajete sauce together was unreal. The carrots were surprisingly fire too, soft, slightly sweet, with a hint of spice that made them way more than a side. This whole thing was rich, filling, and totally satisfying. Honestly, I didn't want it to end. This burrito didn't just hit the spot, it owned the spot. Definitely coming back here and maybe next time I'll lounge at the bar with a margarita.... or two! read more

The service was good here. Our waitress checked in frequently. It gets packed in here so be aware! I recommended booking a reservation prior to coming if you're going past 6 pm. I had the ceviche ( it was cool. They use tostados so you have to ask for more but be aware there's a charge to bring more m) For my Entree I had the quesobirra tacos ( bomb) 3 tacos that Came with consume and a side of salsa and radish. Large size and the taste was delicious I recommend the hibiscus margarita! Tall and delicious!
