Main reason for only 2 stars is that there have been so many times my family and I have tried to call in for a to-go order and there is 1 lady who refuses to speak English, sometimes. My husband has called and she'll say "No English, sorry" then hang up. I call right after, same lady answers and she speaks to me in English. Wtf? This has happened MULTIPLE TIMES. Many to-go orders have been wrong as well and when we've called to fix the order, same lady will say the same thing and hang up. Food here is decent but I'm never able to place an order over the phone because they discriminate against non-Spanish speakers. There has been multiple occasions where I've tried to place orders over the phone but the lady claims to only speak Spanish and won't get another person on the phone. Once I get there in person they speak English though? I've even tried my best to order in Spanish, but they can tell I'm not a native speaker, and they were just straight up rude about it. I've been coming to Tacos El Patron for years because I genuinely enjoy the food, especially the birria tacos. The food is the reason I keep coming back, but unfortunately, I've had too many issues with my to-go orders over the years. I usually call ahead because the restaurant is often busy and seating is limited, so I've never really dined in. While the food is consistently good, my pickup orders are frequently incorrect or incomplete. Today's order was the final straw. I ordered two orders of birria tacos with consommé and specifically requested no cheese. Both orders came with cheese, and neither included the consommé. This is actually the second time the consommé has been forgotten. I understand that I share some responsibility for not checking the order before leaving, but I also expect my order to be prepared correctly and completely. By the time I noticed, I was already home and settled in to watch a game. When I called, they offered for me to come back and pick up the missing consommé, but that wasn't practical at that point. The food is great, which is why I've remained a customer for so many years. I just wish there was more attention to detail with takeout orders. Consistently getting orders right would make a huge difference and keep loyal customers like me from feeling frustrated. read more

I enjoyed the burrito but my husband said it had too much rice in it. Chicken mulita: First time ordering it and I really enjoyed it! I ordered the hardshell potato tacos, a couple of tacos al pastor, and a quesabirria taco. The potato tacos are perfectly flavored and still the perfect crunchiness after transport, which is always a fear of mine when ordering food that is intended to be crispy and crunchy. The al pastor is juicy and delicious, the tacos are a good size each. The quesabirria taco shell was the perfect amount of crispy and the meat inside was so tender. It was a great taco. Found this spot while I was around the area.. decided to try it based off reviews and I was not disappointed!! The portions are pretty big enough and I purposely didn't finish my food to have leftovers for the next day. It was just as delicious! This place is definitely worth driving 30min for! Accidentally ordered food from this restaurant (Google directed me to this one when I intended to order from the name name restaurant in Phoenix). When I immediately noticed the mistake after order, I called the restaurant repeatedly and even emailed. Phone rang, but no answer, then they turned the phone off. Emails went unanswered. I reached out to their online service software (GetBento) who also were unable to get a response from them. I ended up having to dispute the charge through my credit card company. On my order I got 2 birria and chivo, the meat (chivo) was tough and not tender but good flavor. The beef birria was super delicious. Also the vampiros were so good. Tacos el Gordo who? If you're looking for something just as good, maybe even better than tacos el Gordo. Come here and try all the types of tacos, burritos, mulitas, etc. 9.2/10, they are the only tacos that I can eat without any sauce just because they are that good. The only thing you need to throw on any item is the cilantro and onions. Service is super quick. The only downside about the place is the parking is super limited!
