They have deals that run Monday to Thursday for different menu items - we got the loaded fries for $9 on Wednesday. We picked Al pastor, which was super good. It comes with fries, cheese, guac, Al pastor, and onions & cilantro. The portion of meat was worth the deal. Also, we grabbed a bag of cucumbers and limes on the side. As a Mexican who used to frequent Tijuana for tacos, Angels was not it. Honestly, it is not a restaurant I would go out of my way for. The place is super packed and seating is limited but food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. My husband and I got an agua Fresca, asada taco, chicken taco, asada vampire, and an asada burrito. The quality of meat for asada was really good but the chicken taco lacked seasoning. I also really enjoyed the aqua Fresca. We asked for no onion on the tacos and burrito but Angel's Tijuana taco mixes the cilantro and onion - no onion means no cilantro (I honestly do not understand why restaurants do this). The tacos were really soggy (my husband claims that it was the salsa that the cooks added but I didn't taste any salsa) which resulted in the tortilla falling apart. The burrito was unfortunately pretty similar. The burrito also comes with non-refried beans, which also messed with the texture a bit. The Mexican rice was not very good. The vampire was the best thing we tried but the tortilla was not at all toasted. The cheese they used was good and as mentioned earlier, the quality of the asada is really tasty and delicious - I still wish the tortilla was crispy. I did like that there was a salsa bar but in my opinion, none were really spicy; the bar also had radishes, cucumber, roasted onion, lemon, and roasted peppers. I've been seeing this place on my feed for quite some time now and finally got to try it. This place is cash only! I ordered carne asada tacos. I love that it already comes with the creamy guac sauce. The meat quality is so good!! These tacos are a little larger than your regular street tacos so 3 tacos was definitely my limit. Angels Tijuana Tacos makes a really good taco. I absolutely loved the beef great flavor and very generous portions. They didn't have the al pastor available when we visited, which was a bummer, but the beef definitely made up for it. My favorite part is that they automatically load them up with that delicious, thick guacamole ,onion and sauce. They've got a huge trompo for the al pastor and that one was easily the best--super flavorful with a nice char. Tried the pastor, asada, cabeza, and tripa. All were really good. I went in on a sunday afternoon so there was a line but it moved fairly quick and there was plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. If you're looking for late-night TJ-style tacos, Angel's is gonna hit the spot for sure. Came by with a group of friends after a workout as we all collectively wanted tacos. Luckily the line at Angel's wasn't too long. I ordered al pastor tacos, while a friend of mine got asada. To be honest, the asada was better than their al pastor which I thought were too salty. I still enjoyed though since the guacamole and onion/cilantro on top helped balance the saltiness. We washed everything down with horchata. This is the REAL deal. These are some of the very best tacos anywhere. This place is extremely authentic, too, if that matters to you. They do not apologize here for absolutely blasting ranchera music inside this small shop. There was a long line around 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night but it moved fairly quickly. Be warned you may wait a very long time for your food after you order so be patient. The food is outstanding and the wait is worth it. They have aguas frescas here and they are freshly-made. The horchata was probably the best horchata I have ever had in my life. They give you a giant portion and it was absolutely delicious. They offer free grilled whole jalapenos and grilled onions near the salsa bar. There are also free lemon wedges, radishes, a pickled onion mixture, and three salsas. The grilled jalapenos and onions were excellent. The salsas were very nice but the "very hot" one was not that hot. They offer quesadillas and burritos and other things, and I am sure everything is terrific, but most everyone gets tacos, and they are wonderful. We tried chicken, asada, and adobada tacos and all of them were great. They are "street taco" size but you get a ton of meat and guacamole so they are heftier than you think. Two tacos might be sufficient for some but I feel like three tacos really hits the spot. While you wait--and, oh yes, you will wait--watch the team behind the counter work their magic. All of the tortillas are made fresh right in front of you. The guy cutting the adobada on the trompo is working triple-time. He slices and slices and slices the meat and then carves a hunk of pineapple off the top and catches it in the tortilla when it falls. It's a mesmerizing free circus act and I loved it. Vegetarian burrito was ok. This is not one you'd go out of your way to buy. It's a burrito you'd get if you don't eat meat and you go there with friends. Obviously the place caters towards meat eaters, but I'm trying to help all of us vegetarians. This was basically the only option on the menu, or veggie tacos which is the pretty much the same thing. This spot is located on the corner of a little plaza. Theres plenty of parking, but be ready to wait in line! We went at a random time during the day but it was poppin. The Al pastor was my least favorite. I'm not sure if it's the cut of meat I got but it was way too thinly sliced and crisped that the meat was almost sharp. The horchata was a bit to cinnamon heavy so I went with the pineapple orange and it was so good and refreshing no regrets that was my favorite part of my meal. Lots of spacious seating and clean. Large salsa bar area with lots of veggies and salsas just the salsa cups were so small it took people a while to get some. Moving onto the food tacos again just okay not really memorable it was edible but nothing really stood out. The chips were crispy and crunchy but had a terrible after taste like they were cooked in old oil so they turned me off. The loaded fries were good I like that they came with nacho cheese so each fry was super coated with cheese and great flavor here just wish the fries didn't get so soggy quickly. Honestly the fries are so filling def need to split it with 2 + people and it kind of got exhausting to eat after a while since it was so filling, soggy, and repetitive flavors. I stood there, talking with the locals about tacos, lines and life. When I finally got to the front, I snapped into my normal routine and ordered four pastor tacos, four carne asada tacos, two cabeza tacos and two crispy tripas tacos, with a Angel's potato on the side. I know what you're thinking, "Is that for two people, possibly three?' The answer would be 'No', it's all for me. Please don't judge me but a massive personality requires a massive appetite. Now that we're friends, I feel I need to be honest with you. The tacos here are good but not better than any other famous and notorious taco's spot making their rounds in Southern California, and they're certainly not good enough to stand in line 25 minutes for.
