    asada Cali Fries
    Noe C.

Huge portions of food! Prices are average but def worth the bang for the buck and quality of food. One fish taco is huge and can fill someone up. Sauce is complimentary I believe. Not super busy line to order food but restaurant was semi full around dinner time on a Friday. Meat tasted fresh and everything was delicious. Would highly recommend if in the mood for some Mexican street food.

    Angel Burrito cut in half

Cali tacos always hits the spot. Our favorite thing to get is the Angel Burrito with carne asada. Often times we order ahead on the phone, and pay with credit card once we get there. The burrito itself used to be only $16 but now the price has shot up to around $20 which makes it a bit less value than it used to be, but it is still very good to eat. We like to get it cut in half to share between the both of us, and even still that half of a burrito is two meals worth for me. You can get two types of salsa (red and green), along with their signature Cali Sauce, that is tasty no matter what. They also have self-serve pickled carrots/onion/peppers and I really enjoy their onions the most out of the three options. The restaurant has an indoor and a small outdoor seating area, and is very casual. The service is quick and great especially if you take the time to order beforehand, and even if you don't it only takes about 15 minutes or so for the kitchen to make your food. I prefer the Santa Ana location in comparison to the Orange location as I feel that the Cali Tacos in Orange gives you a slightly smaller angel burrito even though they are the same price.

Great service and excellent quality breakfast burrito with spicy red and green salsa. Of course you have to ask for extra cali orange sauce cause it's that good and goes so well with every tasty bite. Real authentic Mexican American cuisine right here in Santa Ana home to the largest Mexican community next to Los Angeles of course. You definitely gottzzz to try your luck and go for the big fat juicy fresh hot Cali burrito and quesadillas today. A Big Bright future in 2026. So Good!! Happy Thursday everyone!!

Supreme Burrito with basically any protein = awesome, so satisfying

Carnitas Supreme Burrito is an absolutely amazing meal that's savory and has great textures. Chicken and carne asada Supreme Burritos were ok. I appreciated that Cali Tacos' Supreme Burrito doesn't have rice or fries in it. I do love that they're also a bit creamy due to the sour cream, guac, and shredded cheese inside. Honestly, these don't even need Cali Sauce because they're satisfying on their own, but Cali Sauce definitely adds a delicious zing. The sheer size of these burritos make it worth your money; half of one is filling enough when I'm hungry after work. A Supreme Burrito is about $15, and I believe there's an additional charge for carne asada. Breakfast burrito with ham and bacon were super salty and yummy. The fish burrito had chopped cabbage and pico de gallo, and it was decent. Both of these went very well with Cali Sauce, though I'd wouldn't get the fish burrito again since it's not as flavorful as the others. These costed slightly less than a Supreme Burrito and were nearly as massive. Parking lot is small, but I usually am able to find a spot during the work week. Seating is available inside, and it's a no-frills casual spot that's easy for solo lunching. Service is good; the lady at the front is knowledgeable about the menu and tries to make things as quick as possible during peak hours. Food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, too.

Food is good. Price though have gone up if you look at menu 10 months ago compared to now. Plus the additional cost for Asada also increased.

I was craving a breakfast burrito and ordered the Chorizo potato burrito. I wish I cut the burrito in half to get a good picture. The one I took doesn't do the burrito justice. This thing probably weighs close to 3lbs. ts huge and delicious. They give you Cali. sauce on the side but I really liked the spicy sauce from the bar. Fr lighter eaters this burrito could feed two. This is one of the best breakfast burrito in Orange County.

    For size reference lol

If you want a BURRITO, definitely go to Cali Tacos because they do not play around! Their Angel burrito is only a few bucks more than their other burritos and it is MASSIVE...like easily 2-3 meals massive. I had a full day of plans that I had to postpone because of the food coma this burrito put me in!! Definitely want to try their other items next time but their Angel burrito and breakfast burritos did not disappoint!

Massive burrito! If you're looking a big portion Mexican spot, this is it. We shared the California burrito which was massive. It lasted us a few days. Obviously it's best when it's fresh. The fries are crunchy, the meat is succulent. I wish they did put a little more guacamole though. And definitely ask for a bunch of salsa. Verde, chipotle mayo, and a diablo type sauce. All are good!

    Cali Fries with Carne Asada

For some reason it's really hard to find good carne asada fries in OC but this place serves some of the better ones as well as huge burritos. The original location is in Orange but this one is bigger and has more indoor seating. They also have cute taco art on the wall. The menu is pretty straightforward with burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos and fries with your choice of meat. They weren't too busy on a weekday afternoon so it took maybe 10 min. for our food to be ready. Of course we had to get the Cali Fries ($17.45) and because we were feeling extra gluttonous we also got a Supreme Burrito ($14.99) and Bean & Cheese Burrito ($8.99). The Cali Fries are smothered with cheese, sour cream and guacamole just the way I like them. The price has gone up though and I don't like that they charge $0.85 more for carne asada. The Supreme burrito had a lot of pollo asada along with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and pico. It's definitely big enough to share. Their Bean & Cheese burrito is decent and has a lot of cheese. Don't forget to ask for their Cali sauce. It's a smokey, creamy sauce that goes great with everything. Also visit their salsa bar for the green sauce. It's a cilantro salsa with just the right amount of kick. It's hard to beat the Mexican food in San Diego, but this place does a pretty good job of satisfying the cravings.

First time here and I got the Angel Fries with Adobada. 10/10! So good! The cotija on top was a nice touch! They also had a salsa bar with chiles and carrots Definitely coming back. Service was also quick even though it was busy!

Finally found a breakfast burrito spot!! It's a bit pricey, but the burrito is big and packed, you could definitely split one between two people.

He's 0 for 3 right now, and I'm HIGHLY skeptical about the foodie influencers that rate these restaurants so highly. It's my birthday this week, but life happens so we celebrated early with the whole family here at Rosa Madera. We could've easily chosen a better and more familiar spot, but I wasn't paying and it was worth a try (I guess). Upon entering, my oldest son said the decor is tacky. The overhead lights were on so it didn't look all romantic like on the socials. Hella roses, skulls, huge murals, drift wood, tiki lounge lamps, Clase Azul bottles on the wall, an Our Lady of Guadalupe at the hostess stand... Decor wasn't cohesive and was a mix of romantic, goth, pirate, tropical bungalow and coastal beach house. My older two mentioned that the playlist had a really good mix, and I distinctly remember walking to our table with La Chona playing. We went in on a Thursday afternoon, so the restaurant was not to capacity, probably 1/4 of a way occupied. We were seated quickly, and our server greeted us just as promptly with two servings of duritos, one plain and one with Valentina. We ordered our drinks and an app: Modelo, Jamaica Margarita, Cucumber Agua Fresca, Dr. Peppers, and waters, and Los Favoritos that had chicken tinga taquitos, birria chimichangas, and al pastor nachos. Drinks came out quickly and were presented nicely. The Jamaica margarita came rimmed with chamoy and Tajin and was garnished with rose petals and a lime slice. The Cucumber Agua Fresca was served in a traditional jarritos and was refreshing. Hubby took a few sips of his Modelo, then ordered an Horchata. I thought he ordered another beer, but he explained that Modelos are only good ice cold, so he didn't want the rest of his beer. Los Favoritos was served to our table, and the food looked great. Our favorite was the chicken tinga taquitos. The birria chimichangas were too cheesy for my liking, and my daughter mentioned that the middles were on the cold side. The chips for the nachos were good and crispy and held up to all the toppings. The al pastor, though, had a flavor that I couldn't appreciate, and soon as I said that out loud hubby and my oldest son chimed in and said the same thing. A red salsa and some crema were served with our app, with the red salsa having a nice flavor and a little kick to it. The twins both ordered the Ranchera A La Plancha, hubby had the Tacos de Papa, my daughter had the Mushroom Quesadilla Ahogadas, my oldest son chose the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito, and I decided on the Chilaquiles Rojas with steak. The twins quickly pushed aside all the food items they don't like, which basically left just the meat and the tortillas. My oldest son said the burrito was more cheese than anything and only took a few bites before pushing his plate aside. Hubby only ate half of his tacos. I think they gave me the mole instead of the salsa rojos because the sauce was undeniably sweet. The steak that came with, half of it was fatty. My daughter's mushroom quesadilla was almost pure cheese with tiny slivers of mushroom. We took a lot of the food home, but I doubt anyone is gonna eat it. My older two said 2/5 and the twins said 3/5. Parking is a shared lot amongst other businesses and the restrooms are bright and clean. There were two big parties to the left of us, with one table disputing the bill. That same table celebrated a birthday where they brought a dessert with a sparkler and a communal sombrero.

Thanks to Restaurant Week, we stumbled upon this gem, and we are so grateful. The hospitality alone would earn five stars. But then came the food. The tacos? Absolutely exceptional. The steak was tender and flavorful in a way that reminded me of eating throughout Mexico, you could actually taste the meat. A light, gentle pickle of vegetables on top, minimal cheese, nothing heavy or greasy. These are not the American-style tacos drowning in a pound of melted cheese. These are the real thing. The beans were lovely, the rice was solid, and my passion fruit winearita drink was genuinely a treat. Restaurant Week gave us the perfect low-pressure reason to try somewhere new, and we walked out with a new favorite. We'll be back for lunch. We'll be back for dinner. To make matters worse, one of our meals was completely forgotten. The service was extremely slow throughout the entire visit. Every time we needed something, whether it was a refill, an update, or assistance, the wait felt excessive. The restaurant may have potential because the food itself was flavorful, but it seemed like they were either understaffed or unprepared for the number of customers they had. Another disappointment was the drink selection. We were told they don't have a liquor license, so hard alcohol isn't available. Their sodas were canned, and when we asked for juice for the kids, they told us they were completely out. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is on the smaller side and felt more like a converted house than a traditional restaurant, complete with a fireplace and television in the dining area. The food had good flavor, which is the only reason I'm giving more than one star. Unfortunately, the long wait times, missing meal, lack of drink options, and poor service made the overall experience disappointing.

He took our orders on his computer order system. But then he came back and said it didn't register so needed to redo some of our orders. He then told us his shift was ending and another girl would be taking over service of our tables. Then the food started coming out. Some plates we didn't even order. Some plates were extra plates of what we ordered. Tortillas came with the plates and I ordered corn tortillas, but they gave me flour. I asked for corn and returned the flour. The server said he has to charge me for it. I asked why? I didn't get what I ordered. I shouldn't have to pay extra for something I'm supposed to get, but didn't. He initially didn't understand, but finally got it. Food was good. One person's carne asada was burnt and tough, but others said what they ordered was good. Glass of wine was a bit skimpy for the price. Then the bill came. We triple checked the bill to make sure we weren't charged for anything we didn't order since there were so many plates that came out that we didn't order. Turned out a plate of chile verde was on the bill that we didn't order. Had our new server take it off the bill, but the automatic 18% gratuity didn't change. It was based off the original total because she took off the cost of the extra charge as a discount not a deleted item. The bill was finally cleared, but it should not have been so much work for us to make sure the bill was correct. In the end, consensus was the food was good, but the service was dysfunctional, between the multiple mis-orders and multiple requests for napkins, utensils, tortillas, and chips and the questions about the bill. Maybe okay for smaller groups or if you do go with a larger group, ask to do separate bills.
