I was in an accident in December and the dealership that I bought my car from and my insurance both recommended Caliber Collision to do the body work/repairs, so I went to the NW Maynard Road location specifically due to Google and Yelp reviews. I thought my review would be helpful to provide a little more context than previous reviews. The Pros: 1. The front desk receptionists - Stephanie and Lisa - were both great to work with, accommodating and nice. 2. The staff were always very respectful and polite when I was dealing with them either in person or on the phone. 3. The work I had done (replaced my 2 driver's side doors along with the pieces that go with that) was done well, and they ended up replacing both doors with new doors instead of repairing/using used doors. The Cons: 1. Here was my biggest con: They do not always lock your vehicle. Details: I took my valuables out of my car prior to dropping it off. When I picked my car up, I noticed there was loose change in my cup holders, which isn't normally there. I then realized that my change holder, which is a hidden compartment in my dash, was emptied out. I went to speak with my Caliber agent about this and he informed me that the detail crew would never steal anything but that occasionally vehicles are left UNLOCKED and that they had recently had issues with people stealing exhaust. So, my car was left in care of this business for 23 days and who knows how long it was left unlocked. I do not leave my car unlocked anywhere - not even my house - so I am appalled that this is their business practice. I also noticed that my overhead light had been switched from "manual" to "off" and when I pointed this out to them, they said that it must have gotten switched when the detail guys wiped things down. To have an unlocked car, missing change, and an overhead light turned off seems to indicate something besides coincidences that happened during a car detail. They did reimburse me for the stolen change, which was appreciated, but my car should never have been kept unlocked in the first place to allow this to happen. I would not take my car back to this business solely based on this. 2. Estimated Repair Time: Much longer than estimated (re: $$$). Details: Granted that I dropped by car off on December 28th, which is around the holidays, the time it took to repair my car was incredibly long: 3+ weeks. I was originally told by Employee #1 that it would take 3-4 days. When I dropped my car off on December 28th, Employee #2 (my Caliber agent) told me that it would be ready December 31st (3-4 days). This is when things went downhill. That deadline was not met and the new estimated completion date was January 8th (10 business days to complete) I received text messages giving me generic updates up until then stating that the work was close to be completed. When I called on Thursday, January 7th evening to follow up to see if my car was going to be ready since there was no notification that it wouldn't be, I was informed that it was taking longer to find a good door replacement and that the employee handling my case was on vacation that week. They called me again on Friday the 8th to say that it would be ready the following week. The following week I received a phone call on Monday, January 11th saying that the new door had arrived and that my car was going to be ready on Friday, January 15th (15 business days to complete) and that they would keep me up to date on the progress. I did not receive any additional updates - texts, emails, or phone calls that week. I called at 12pm on Friday, January 15th to ask if my car was going to be ready that day. It turns out that no, it wasn't, again. They had accidentally ordered the wrong parts because someone didn't match up the right numbers and that my car would not be ready until Monday or Tuesday January 18/19th. So, I was given 4 different estimated pick up dates and I had to call to clarify on 2 of them, less than 24 hours before my pick up date. I don't mind things being delayed a few extra days due to get good parts and quality work, but it would be nice to have someone call to notify me instead of me having to call to ask constantly. This was all paid by the insurance company of the person who hit me, so nothing came out of my pocket. With that said, it took 3x as long to complete the repairs, which also means 3x as long in a rental car. I would have been upset if my insurance was paying for this. 3. Car Detail: Not the best Details: When I picked my car up, I noticed a 2-3" grease stain on my tan cloth seats. I had to point this out to get it cleaned, and it would have been nice to have someone look my car over before approving it for pick-up. read more

The Jeep dealer in Cary recommended Caliper Collision on Maynard Rd for repair of minor paint transfer from grazing the painted door frame of my garage. I went there, but missed the front entrance. A nice young man who worked in the back not only offered to assist me, but kindly walked me to the proper door. When I returned for an estimate another nice young man, Mike Bevin, first tried to clean the paint off. He did so; it looked like new again and he didn't charge me anything! How refreshing to deal with such nice and helpful people. They were recommended for the quality of the work they do, but, let's face it, these are wonderful people and I would recommend them just for that. read more

Very poor service. Caliber goes way over on time estimates. They don't communicate with your insurance company and have very poor communication with the customer. Failure to communicate with the insurance company cost me money. On more than one occasion, I would show up to pick up the car based on their instruction and then after showing up, they would tell me that it wasn't ready. They also damaged a part to the car and never told me about it until I discovered it well after the fact. They ignored my efforts to contact them (as well as efforts made by my insurance company). I had a minor collision with a deer the week before Christmas. I dropped it off January 5 and got it back today. It was ready yesterday but I couldn't get away to pick it up. It looks great, drives great, and they even cleaned out the inside of my car for me. It looks amazing and I'm so grateful. I bought the car less than 2 years ago so I was happy that it looks just like new. They kept me updated every step of the way with daily e-mails updating me on their progress. 10/10 would take my car their again. read more

I was in a pretty bad accident and came to caliber for my repairs. I was amazed at how friendly the staff was, Lisa at the front desk was so nice and helpful. The guy came out to my car to look at the damage and immediately told me I couldn't drive my car so I was able to walk 2 feet to the enterprise. They had my car for quite a while but the work they did was amazing! Jodi was in charge of my repair and she was awesome! She called me through the whole process giving me updates and time frames of when the process would be done! This company is fantastic and I will bring my car to them if I ever need collision repairs again! I'm hoping not but all I can say is fantastic people!!! read more

After reading a few other reviews I've decided, due to a busy day, I'm going to ditto some remarks. Great people and service at front and on the phone! Had work done here "pre-Cailber" name change (but same employees) for a bumper replacement on an Audi A6. I understand that OEM colors aren't a perfect match at times, but had to re-do the entire bumper because it was a very noticeable difference. Came back fine after that, and there was no pushback at all from their point man on our car. More recently, we had an out-of pocket repair and paint job done on the same car (holiday stress induced in our own driveway! lol). Both passenger side doors and rear lower panel needed repair and paint, but nothing like a major dent at all, more like a minor scratch/dent/scrape. All that work was done well, and when the point man and I did a quick walkaround, everything looked fine. I stopped for gas on the way home and while filling up, I did a closer inspection of the job and found "below" the original damage, the was another scratch, not something that could be buffed out as it caught a fingernail being dragged over it. Brought it right back to Caliber, got the point man out again, and he agreed after trying to buff and compound it out, not luck - it should go back in to repair. This scratch was not there when we brought the car in because it was in a spot that would have had a lot more damage if connected to the original damage. It was minor, and originally we wanted the car back to pre-accident condition because the car was only 2 years old and in very good shape. Bottom line is if you didn't know the scratch was there, you'd never just "see it" walking around the car. My wife and I agreed that giving the car up for another week wasn't worth it, so we let it go. Last part re time in shop quote........when I dropped it off I emphasized and made perfectly clear that we needed the car back on a given day due to our schedules. Point man said no problem, but 3 days later I get an email saying the pickup date would be 2 days later than agreed upon. I had to make a couple more phone calls to get it right, got another email stating late pickup date, but the point man and email system sometimes miss each other. Bottom line - I will bring other vehicles there if necessary because I think their work is very good, but now that they're a chain owned company store, I think paying attention to detail has slipped a little. read more

The folks at Caliber Collision Center in Cary are awesome! I got stuck there because Enterprise refused to take me to the airport (even though they say they pick you up and drop you off)! Betty and Lisa at Caliber Collision arranged for me to get a ride to RDU airport which is 8.3 miles away. They were wonderful!! If I ever need car repair services in the future, I will definitely use them! Betty and Lisa are the greatest!! read more

On our insurers advice we took our vehicle in for repairs. The body work was pretty good. Some variation in the panel/hood gaps and they left off a clip to secure the windshield washer fluid. Paint match is very good. A couple of weeks after driving the vehicle we noticed vibration coming from the damaged side. We returned the vehicle and were told the axle was damaged and something about a service bulletin and a kit to repair. We were also told these parts were no longer being made for this, a 2012, model. We called the dealership and had the car in, repaired, and out in less than 24 hours. read more

Not the best experience we've had with body shops. Like other reviewers, the staff at the front desk is friendly and professional but the rest wasn't that great. We were rear-ended and we expected OEM parts-no, some refurbished parts. Timing-it took a long time to schedule an appt. and our vehicle was there 2 days later than originally estimated. Estimator said they would repair a broken headlight-didn't happen. While repairing the vehicle, they had to remove a full size spare tire and during that process, the component that holds the tire in place broke. They claimed it was rusted and that we would have to pay to have it fixed. Seriously? They quoted us a price of $185 and it required returning the vehicle at a later time for the repair. We had to coordinate dropping off the vehicle a second time and pay for this repair. In my opinion, they should have repaired it while the vehicle was there and not charged us for the repair. Overall, the accident repair was decent but the trouble and expense for the rest was enough that next time we chose a body shop, it probably won't be this one. read more

Exceptional Service. My experience with Caliber Collision was amazing!. I had a accident with my vehicle and I search Google for auto repairs facilitates and found Caliber on Maynard in Cary. I had never had an accident and thought this was going to be very intrusive on my daily living. However that was not the case at all. It was effortless, Caliber took care of everything. Upon arriving I was greeted and taken care of quickly and courteously. They had a rental care ready and waiting for me, In and Out! The staff treats you as if they've known your forever. :-) The front desk staff ( Betty and Ms. Lisa) were the absolute best customer service. They are knowledgably and can answer your inquiries you won't hear oh "I don't know" you will get answers. My car looked amazing they even detailed it. My car has rear hit. Caliber said it would take more or less two weeks to repair and took close to 10 weeks with multiple phone calls due to constant delay. I have very bad experience with them. I had to deal with the person called Michael Baven. if you ask him "how long will it take to finish", Michael has no idea what that means, not sure if he is just new guy learning the trade or not ? . I wonder if these advisers are forced to put into to be in the position of un-truthful to their customers. Each time I phone him, he comes up with some reason for not meeting the deadline and he sometimes repeat the same reason without thinking that he was repeating the same reason from week before. I took my car there because of the positive review found here. Somehow I got with someone who is un-professional or not trained fully. May be there other who knows what they are doing. I never go back to this location ever again. read more
