No one likes to have to go to the body shop, but I was very pleased to see this shop as a recommended option for my insurance company. I had not been here before, but the reviews were outstanding so I decided to choose them. Communication was excellent and I was able to drop the car off and arranged for a rental car seamlessly. The car was done a day before expected, and the cost of the work was less than other body shops. I actually should have paid out-of-pocket, but liked the coordination between the body shop, insurance company, and rental car agency. I highly recommend this location. We took our Mini in with a minor fender dent and wanted to pay out of pocket to avoid insurance hassles. NIck gave us an on the spot estimate that sounded very fair. When we dropped the car off a few days later Maria wrote us up and pointed out a small flaw it the rubber fender flair, and a cracked, side light lens. . I said just polish it out but replace the lens . She gave us a price for the lens to be added to the estimate. When we picked it up she said that they replaced the fender flair and lens at no extra cost. Five Stars for sure. read more

2017 Prius right front wheel liner got ripped off and splash pan had some damage from bottoming out...as a result front bumper wasn't seated well either. A year or so before we'd had the same wheel liner replaced by Caliber Collision in Los Gatos and door sill touched up; they did a decent job at a good price. So that was the first place I tried. Wasn't happy with second experience: they didn't follow through with written estimate (verbal was about $2,000 they said, including a new bumper). When I asked if there was a less expensive alternative, they suggested I try a low cost mom and pop shop. When I went a second time to get a written estimate, they claimed I didn't have appointment and wanted me to schedule a third one. I didn't like the vibe, did some research, and that's what led me to Preferred (including their being listed in Best of Los Gatos). Preferred Image was busy too. Seems like Gary does most of the insurance estimates in LG these days, so my noon appointment happened about fifteen minutes later than planned. But well worth the wait. Gary promised that all damage could be repaired & look decent for about $425 within a day or two (no paint or polishing, but they did apply some adhesive to get the bumper aligned). He also straightened a part of the door sill that had gotten bent. Preferred Image delivered what they promised, and then some--front of the car looks better than it has in years, and seems like a few noises disappeared too. They're now my auto body go to. All of the staff I interacted (Faith, Stacey, and a technician I spoke with briefly out back) with were professional and cordial as well. I just popped by Caliber to get a quote on a scratch on my new car; the result of a motorised scooter t-boning my car. Anthony came out, took a look and asked if he could try his polishing tool on the scratch (which was quite deep). Less than 5 minutes later, the scratch had virtually disappeared. He was so kind, quick and efficient. I could not have asked for anything more. There is still a tiny dent that needs to be removed but I am not sure anyone would notice after the brilliant job that Anthony has already done. Highly recommend their work. read more

Poor customer service Made an appointment to get my car repaired after I was rear ended. Came to my appointment and they estimated the damage and said they would order the parts. Benito stated It would take 3 weeks to repair and they would call me when the parts arrived. After waiting a week, they called and said they haven't ordered the parts and wanted to check if I still wanted to get the car repaired as they wouldn't be able to work on it for at least 35 days. This felt like a bait and switch as they said they had availability when we first reached out and I took the car in for for an estimate. I don't know if the job was too small for them as it was a $5k - $8k job. Regardless, Benito helped me out when I came into the shop and gave me false information. read more

I got into an accident and needed a place to repair my dork mobile. It's a Honda Fit that I love. Anyway, I was referred to them by my insurance company and I figured I can't go wrong since the insurance has done business with this place. I called them and forwarded them my estimate from the insurance thinking that things would be okay. 2 weeks later, I call back only to find out that I was never in their queue for whatever reason (my insurance didn't respond to their supplemental or whatever), which is fine since we are all human. They moved forward with scheduling so I waited two weeks later and the drop-off was a breeze. They were nice and to the point. I also got a call giving me an update informing that they are filing a supplemental claim with my insurance. They followed with updates via text messages every 2-3 days so I TRULY APPRECIATE that I didn't have to hound them for status updates. They estimated that my repair would be 2 weeks, but it's approaching closer to 3 weeks, since they are closed on the weekends. I did get a call on the day I was supposed to get my car back with an update and was told that I was going to get another update before the end of the day (Friday). I never got an update, so I assumed that it will take longer and will have to wait through the weekend since they are closed on the weekends. Luckily, I actually like my rental car and didn't mind keeping it for the weekend. However, I didn't like the fact that I didn't get the update as promised when I was supposed to get my car back that day. I wouldn't have minded if they told me it's been delayed, but the lack of communication wasn't my cup of tea. Anyway, it's now Monday (Day 20) and I magically get a text stating that my estimated date of completion is today (Monday) after the fact. LOL. I did get a call stating that my car is done and I picked it up with no issues. Would I return for future business with them? Yes, because they made the process easy and are proactive about status updates for the most part. It's not a fun process, but it's nice that they make it easier despite the initial oversight and some communication issues. Luis knows what he's doing and I brought up a minor issue after I received my car back and he will take care of it when another minor part comes in. I appreciate the fact that they gave me my car back when all the major repairs are done so I can move on without a rental car and can return for super minor fix when they get the backordered OEM parts. My dork mobile looks great although I do miss the power and updated tech in my rental. LOL. read more

I don't generally write reviews, but Miguel and the team at Caliber Los Gatos are great. My daughter drove her car to college in the Midwest and brought it back after graduation. Sadly the car looked like it had been in a few too many ice storms / bushes. There were scratches on both sides and the back and a good sized chip from a rock hitting the hood. My wife and I did not want to spend a lot of money to fix it because of the age of the car. Miguel said not to worry. Since we had been to the shop before for other accidents he just had the guys polish out all of the scuffs and as I had some touch up paint he had one of his guys take care of the chips as well. I recently purchased a pre owned vehicle before the Covid -19 Shelter in Place. I noticed a few minor paint inconsistencies and needed the bumper repaired. I brought my SUV to Caliber Collison in Los Gatos where Matt was able to provide me with an estimate within my price range. He assured me the turn around time would be within that week, which was better than other shops I reached out too. Drew the manager updated me the same day. He also offered to have the vehicle dropped off to me, since I am a mom of two this was super helpful! My vehicle was dropped off to me literally the next day by 4pm. My car looks like it has a brand new paint job, my bumper isn't half way hanging off and the detailed cleaning inside of my car was awesome, since I have two little ones getting between the nooks and crannies is difficult. My car needed a replacement front bumper after being in a hit and run accident recently. Caliber was one of the body shops on my insurance list and since they were close to my house I decided to go with them. They scheduled me to bring in my car for an estimate and photos immediately. I guess car parts are taking a bit of time to come in because of supply chain shortages right now but they had me scheduled for the repairs in about 2.5 weeks after I went in for the estimate. Their customer service was friendly and attentive. It took a total of 3 days as my car color is difficult to do in the paint shop I guess but it came out even better than when I originally bought the car. I also had requested them not to drill any plate holes in the front bumper because I choose not to put my plate on (driving for 3 years without any ticket so far) and they followed my request. They also set me up to get the front PPF redone by a nearby shop since I had that done to the original bumper. Overall very happy with their service and if I ever have any other body work needed done I'll surely choose Caliber. read more

I talked to very pleasant man named Benito. I told him that my car is more of a commuter vehicle or even a beater---not at all a show car--=and I don't need for it to look perfect. I asked Benito they could just heat up the ding and pop it out. He said, "I get it. And sure, I can do that for you right now." I have a low milage 2001 996 911 Porsche Carrera 2 that rolled backward into stuff, created lots of small issues and a few issues with my passenger rear quarter panel, brake light assembly, two dents in the rear bumper cover with one of them actually being perforated. I had taken my car to two different shops before this one, and so I can speak to value as well as quality. They cut the price down from the other quotes significantly. I had some issues with my insurance which created challenges but the staff here worked with me to get through them, which really is not normal unless the staff is into what they do and into the idea of helping people get back to pre-accident life. Once we OK'd the repairs, I received consistent text updates on the progress, it was estimated a 6 business day repair, but the repair took half that. When I picked up my vehicle, I realized that even though this team had cut the cost significantly vs. the quotes I had from others who said the bumper needed replacement but this team did repairs, the work was SPOT ON. For this Porsche, its all curves, and curves show imperfections easily in body work. I couldnt be happier. They have a Porsche specialist do the body work and paint, I can attest that he is very qualified and dont let their lower prices scare you, this team executes as well as any I have seen. I hope the management keeps them happy and well fed, I have upcoming body projects and I expect the same experience when I return. If you have a Porsche, this spot is the best value in the bay. I recently purchased a brand new 2022 black BMW X5 and the rear panel got chipped when I only had the car for 2 weeks! I brought my car to Caliber Collision in Los Gatos to see what could be done and Luis went above and beyond to help me repair the chip. First he told me to go to BMW and get the factory touch up kit that has a bottle of the factory paint and clear coat. Once I brought that back he meticulously "needled" the touch up paint into the chip and told me to come back in a few days. When I came back he wasn't quite satisfied and put one more coat of the paint so that the paint was built up even with the factory paint and no longer a crater. Lastly I came back and he put the clear coat on and sanded it down and polished it. I am very happy with the final product because you really have to look to even see where the chip was and I know I won't have to worry about the chip getting worse with time. Luis was meticulous, patient, friendly and very skilled. I definitely hope my car doesn't get damaged ever again, but if it does I will definitely bring my car back to this shop! read more
