I have been very impressed with Cope Collision Center! They…read moreare friendly, fast, and do an excellent job. I have had to take my vehicle there two different times and have been very satisfied.

Rarely do I take the time to review a company, but after my experience with this company I felt…read morecompelled to share with others, that they might not make the same mistakes I made. I had the unfortunate experience of being involved in a motor vehicle accident that was "not my fault". I initially felt fortunate that it wasn't my fault and the other party would be responsible for the repairs. My vehicle was brand new, only having been driven for 2 months with limited miles. I called the dealer that sold me the vehicle and they recommended Cope Collision for the repairs. After having the vehicle towed to Cope they did an initial inspection, without opening the hood, and sent me the estimate for this. This is all very appropriate. They also sent me a Docusign to sign which gave them permission to continue with the repairs. Here is where I made my mistake. I did not read the Docusign thoroughly and signed it. Not only did this document give them permission to order parts needed, it also stated that I would be responsible for all repairs that the at fault drivers insurance didn't cover. I know what you are thinking, "you can't fix stupid". I agree and I deeply regret having signed this. I was then told by the insurance company, who had contacted me to inform me they were going to total the vehicle (at a fair price). After having signed this document they revoked the offer and said because I signed this document Cope had ordered several thousand dollars worth of parts which they said could not be returned. I feel Cope should have explained to me that by signing this document it would set in motion a process that could not be reversed. Also, all along this process I told Cope that I would not pay any out of pocket expenses, even if the insurance company didn't cover 100% of the damage repair. The spokesperson at Cope repeatedly told me he understood and I would not have to pay anything when the vehicle was repaired. Not true. I ended up paying what the insurance didn't. Again, if Cope had been more transparent they could have explained that I might be responsible for any extra charges . In Cope's defense they wanted me to sign an additional document when I picked up the vehicle, that would allow them to pursue funds owed. No explanation was given what this document was. It turns out that this document gave them permission to initiate a law suit against the insurance company to attempt to retrieve whatever expenses they didn't collect. This time I actually read the paper work, which would have once again left me on the hook for any money not collected. I could only imagine what interest they would have tacked on to the amount not collected and most likely lawyers and collection fees as well. When I went to pick up the vehicle they held my car hostage until the bill was paid. The actual amount owed was a couple of thousand dollars less because the insurance company mailed the last supplement check, which Cope had not yet posted. Before they had me sign any paper work they should have checked for this payment, which their secretary had acknowledged they had received. All in all, the insurance paid about 98% of the total bill. If this bill was paid with a credit card Cope would have received even less than this. This entire process took 3 1/2 months. Bottom line: I would not recommend using this company, unless you walk into their establishment wearing a sign that says, "I am stupid".
