Save yourself a headache and just visit the Sunnyvale location instead. The manager at this location, Ruben, and his team do NOT know the definition of decent customer service. I came to this Mountainview location because my rear exhaust was hanging after being involved in a fender bender. Everyone seemed nice at first. 15 minutes later I realized that I was fooled. After an associate, Junior, went down a ONE WAY STREET (sign and arrows indicate one way) and hit the wall while driving my car, this location failed to notice the damage to my tire, rim, and side panel. Rather than go above and beyond to make things right (as most managers would do after such a HUGE) mistake, Ruben said he'd only fix what his associate damaged. He didn't even offer me a discount on the original problem I went in for, and I had to pull tooth and nail to get a new tire and rim when they were CLEARLY damaged! That's the LEAST he could have done after leaving me with a bigger problem than I went in with. After speaking with him several times, he told me I would get a free car wax and interior detail, but I was left with the mess that you see in pictures. He did, however, put me in a car rental at the shop's expense, but told me that I had to get a cheap car and he went as far as to CALL ENTERPRISE WHEN I GOT THERE to make sure I got the cheapest one! Wow!!! After 5 Days I picked up my car and noticed that no wax had been done, there was no interior detail, leaves were in my front grill, and there was a huge sap drip on the side of my car. Ruben merely said "oh well, this sap must've been pretty caked on there" and proceeded to use a rag and some cleaning spray on my car. So THIS is supposed to be a good quality wax job? They couldn't even get that right! Rather than argue with a clearly incompetent manager, I escalated matters to two different managers above him. I was FINALLY able to get my original issue fixed, along with the wax and interior detail I had been promised. Was referred to Caliber Collision by my insurance company USAA. I had misgivings taking my car to a non-BMW certified shop, but I went with the path of least resistance. The process seemed to be moving in the proper direction until pick up.The car was due back on a Friday, and that didn't happen, so I now needed a rental car for the weekend, which happened, but was very last minute and a scramble to contact USAA to get approval, after a 90 minute wait at Enterprise I had a rather beat up rental Camry, which was fine. Went to pick up my car on the following Tuesday, everything looked fine, signed the paperwork and paid the deductible and drove off, when immediately an error code popped up on my screen-Chassis Stabilization: Drive moderately. Turned around immediately, went back to Caliber, and dropped the car off again. Luckily the rental car was still there. Wednesday, the car was ready, but the vendor Caliber uses to initialize the BMW's systems could not clear all the codes. I was told that Caliber had nothing to do with this, but the car's systems were all working when I dropped it off, so it had to happen when it was at their shop. I was told by the shop that it needed to go to the dealership, but they weren't responsible-really! Dropped it off Thursday at BMW-MV and the steering system had to be diagnosed and initialized and that it was indeed related to the error code-Chassis Stabilization that appeared when I drove off the first time. The vendor after 2 cracks could not get this job done correctly this company-Protech Solutions Services is completely incompetent. This is a business that I will not chose to use again. read more

I took my car in after someone hit my left side drivers mirror, and knocked off the cover. It apparently vanished into thin air. So I bought a new one , and Lennell was able to put it back on for me. He also noticed that the hit had loosened the bottom portion of the mirror, and right away told me he was going to have one of his guys take a look at it, and have them tighten up the bolts. He went above and beyond. I have to make sure to mention Crystal, who greeted me at the door, and made me feel so comfortable right from the start. Just got my vehicle back after a negligent driver made a left turn in-front of me. I could not be any happier to finally get my baby back. In fact, it was repaired better than I had expected and prior to the accident. The manager, Linel, fought hard to get me OEM replacements when the other party's insurance tried to low-ball used after-market parts. He kept me well-informed while juggling the runa-around between the factory service dealer and insurance company. Putting Linel as the manager of the shop was a great corporate move. The tech did a fantastic job putting the nuts and bolts back together. He is very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of great tips and information. In addition, the service advisor gave me regular updates so I knew my vehicle was in good hands. The initial estimate was performed quickly and the team member was sensitive to my frustration with the inconvenience of being there in the first place. I had two great experiences dealing with Caliber. Once I was hit on the front bumper by someone who was backing in and the second time I scraped my 2015 Bmw M235i in my garage. Both times the estimate was handled by Cindy and she did a phenomenal job. She was very detailed and accommodating and provided answers to all my questions about possible scenarios. She made sure that my pick up and drop off at the rental facility was handled smoothly and also gave me a realistic timeline each time. Had a minor scratch in my rear bumper and took it to them to see what I had to do to get it fixed. Chris and Lennell were assisting me and they went out of their way to see if they could remove the scratch for me with a little bit of polishing. Our Mercedes had a huge dent in the drivers side door from a kid who swung his passenger door very hard in our door. I called AAA and they recommended a few shops to fix our Benz and I decided to try caliber based on the yelp reviews here. Caliber Collision didn't disappoint they were courteous and professional. Mike completed our estimate quickly, we had to wait a week to get the parts in. The work was done in 5 days as promised, with opt-in daily text updates. The text updates were great to know the status as well as a couple calls to update us of some additional parts needed, which didn't affect the completion time. The car looked great and Caliber matched the paint perfectly, they even touched up a little scrap in the fender that was not part of the accident. Upon pickup the car was detailed and looked new. The only hiccup was having to wait about for the rental car pickup service that never came (which was a problem on the hertz side). A staff member ended up driving us over to the car rental shop. For me it's (in no particular order): a fair price, honest service and a little something special. Caliber Collision absolutely has all three. My 2002 Honda Civic recently had an unfortunate collision. Nothing too bad, but enough damage to the front where repairs were necessary. I was a new Mountain View Caliber Collision customer and went to them on a trusted recommendation. Very glad I did, and very glad I met Jaime and his team! Price: without naming names, another auto repair shop in the area quoted me at a little more than 2x what Caliber Collision did. Now, that was based off a visual quote and perhaps could have gone down once the mechanic got behind the panels, but when do you ever know the quote to drop 50%? Caliber Collision was the best value in this case, but don't go there just for price alone. Read on... Honest Service: Jaime pointed out a couple of minor mechanical issues that he said were very easy fixes. I thought he'd show me an itemized bill with labor, etc. but instead said they were so minor they just went ahead and did them. Wow! Little Something Special: The Honda Civic has had a hard life and a few years ago had a different run in with an inanimate object. We had asked for a quote on fixing this minor panel damage and was recommended not to worry about it because the damage was minor and did not impact vehicle operation. I was stunned -- STUNNED -- to come out and not find the dent when the car was brought back around. Now, they didn't offer me a new panel gratis or anything, but they were able to pull the dent out and just count it as part of the original estimate! WOW! I always thought replacing the panel would be such a waste, and they did me a HUGE FAVOR by fixing that unsightly embarrassment! The original shop I mentioned under price said I would pay 2x (again, for a total of 4x Caliber Collision's price) to repair this second issue. To sum it up -- Caliber Collision in Mountain View is DEFINITELY a place you should check out if you need service. I am really impressed with Caliber Collision in Mountain View, particularly George Carsella. He was courteous, and a true professional from beginning to end. We dropped our car off on a Tuesday morning, and was told that the body work would be completed Thursday, but possibly late Wednesday. When I called late Wednesday, I was initially told we could pick up that evening after 5pm. We got a call back that it would not be done until the next day around noon time, as the clear coat needed to dry completely. So, I show up after noon time the next day to pick up my car. George was there, apparently had been out a couple of days, to tell me that he wasn't completely satisfied with the work. He was very apologetic, and offered to provide me with a loaner car. I was very impressed with George throughout the process. Always keeping us posted. Small but nice touches in the business waiting area include cold water, coffee, Gatorade, popcorn, donuts, and candy! We were very happy with the work they did on the car, plus George went the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service. Highly recommend!! read more

Brought my car in here for an estimate after some punks caused some major damage to it by throwing debris off an overpass. The staff was excellent, friendly and very professional. I was offered bottled water as soon as i entered the building. I was personally greeted and helped by Jess whom I believe is one of the office managers and was treated like family. She was very sympathetic after hearing about how the damage happened and promised to do everything she and her staff could do to get me back on the road. George was the man when it came to inspecting and writing the estimate. He was speedy, thorough, and offered me a reasonable time frame for repairs. The reception area was very clean and inviting. Nobody walks into these situations in a good mood, yet we were made to feel very comfortable from beginning to end. Crystal was our project manager and estimator. I went to Caliber Collision this morning for and estimate on some bumper and fender damage. They were extremely efficient and friendly. I was working with Cindy today. She and another man gave me options including buffing off the yellow paint (from the pole I hit) and adding a screw to hold the bumper in place. This option was offered free of charge!!! Cindy took my car to the back for 5 mins and brought it back up repaired! I would highly recommend Caliber Collision and on the future I will call them first for any repairs and body work needed on my cars. I drove in for an estimation but didn't realize I had to have an appointment before hand, which is completely understandable. So I made an appointment and had to wait 5 days to get an estimation. Finally when I came in for the estimation, they took photos of my car and I was told to wait in the waiting area. The room has a TV and a coffee maker which made the wait seem minimal. After the estimation was done I was informed that I would receive an email regarding my estimation the same day or the latest the next morning. I patiently waited and received nothing for 2 days. I decided to email the person who helped me via their business card they provided me, but still received no response for another day. Finally I decided to call in store. They asked me who helped me and told me they would have them contact me. After waiting a little over a week, at this point, I finally heard my response and was given the estimate which seemed very expensive. It was hard for me to justify the expenses especially since the repair process wasn't fully explained to me. I decided to go elsewhere, especially after waiting a week to get an estimate that took 30 minutes at another shop which was diamond certified without an appointment. I think it would be helpful to be present at the estimation process so they can explain what exactly they will be doing to your car so you can understand what exactly you are paying for. The other place I went to, described what needed to be done in detail which made me feel more comfortable and justified the costs. read more

I was referred to Caliber by my insurance, after meeting with Brandy, I knew this was the shop I wanted to have do the repairs. I came here for an estimate to fix some body damage on my car - I told them I had a $1000 deductible on my insurance and didn't want to have to pay any more than that for the repairs. I guess they didn't think I'd care if my insurance company paid a thousand dollars beyond that because their estimate was $2000 - (this was after I had received 2 other estimates for less than $1000) I have to question their integrity. My agent at AAA referred us to Caliber Collision Center Evelyn in MV. Our assessor and scheduler was Mike Privitt, and he did an absolutely wonderful job interfacing with us and getting our car repaired. Mike is a highly competent and personable person, and he is a true automotive gearhead (compliment) with a very broad knowledge of not just auto repairs but also automobiles in general. He loves cars. Our car was done one day early and was perfectly repaired with no problems whatsoever. I rarely write any reviews, but as far as full service, and customer care, they are the best. They did a wonderful job on the repair. They were kind, patient, and courteous, and the made the car cleaner than it was ever. If that were not enough, they helped me get a last minute car at Enterprise since the parts were not arriving for a day before, AND I could drop the rental off at Caliber instead of trying to get it to Enterprise and find transport to the shop. I took my Acura into Caliber, as they were part of certified dealers for USAA. The assessment of the damage was quick, though the agent could not give me a full projected cost because he needed a mechanic to review the internal damage to the hood. When I asked him to give me an estimate for both no hood replacement and complete hood replacement, he simply said "No." After a couple of minutes we were able to come to a compromise, but the straight denial of the request without justification or an attempt to clarify his position was poor customer service (in my opinion). Things got worse from there. We looked for a time to bring my car in for repairs and he told me that I could only schedule the car on Monday or Tuesday because insurance companies didn't want to pay for rental cars over the weekend. I booked a Tuesday several weeks in advance and brought the car in on Monday night as requested. (I should say that I need my car for work, that I didn't have a rental car). On Tuesday night, I called to find out what the status was on my car and the agent said that he was looking for a mechanic and couldn't find one for that day. Having scheduled the repair several weeks in advance, I found it surprising that if there was an issue finding a mechanic, that Caliber would have called me to tell me to hold off on bringing my car to the shop. I am not sure if it was Wednesday or Thursday, but I called back and I was told that the car would be ready on Friday. On Friday afternoon, I called to find the status of the car and when I could pick it up. I was told that it wasn't ready yet because the part hadn't yet arrived. The agent should have know this on Friday morning and called me to let me know of the issue. He did not. Agent said the car would be ready on Monday when the part came in. Again, I waited until Monday afternoon to call and again I was told that the car would not be available! Again, I should have received a call from the agent to let me know of the issue. I did receive my car the following day and the agent did a thorough job of reviewing the damages and the costs. The front desk was quick and helpful in providing me copies of the charges. read more
