**1-Star Review: Caliber Collision, Sunnyvale** **Dishonest and unprofessional experience. I would avoid this shop.** This review is long overdue. After my August 2025 accident, Caliber Collision in Sunnyvale repaired my 2008 Lexus RX 400h. I had regular maintenance done about two months before the accident and had no A/C issues at that time. Caliber returned my car to me around 5:30 p.m. on a Friday, right before Labor Day weekend, with multiple problems: the A/C was blowing hot air, a warning light was flashing, and there was a parking sensor problem. The timing was extremely frustrating because the shop was closing and the long weekend was starting, leaving me stuck with an uncomfortable and unsafe-feeling vehicle during very hot weather. When I first complained about the A/C, they denied there was a problem. Only after I brought the car back did they acknowledge the issue. They worked on it and the A/C temporarily blew cool air again, but about a week later it failed again and started blowing hot air. There were other repair-quality issues as well. The alignment was not fixed correctly, front tire clips were missing, and the parking sensor was giving false alarms. I had to schedule follow-up service, but my appointment was cancelled without proper notice. When I pointed out that this was unprofessional, they insisted they had treated me professionally. My actual experience was the opposite. The A/C problem dragged on for months and eventually cost me around $5,000 in diagnostics and repairs. An independent shop later found A/C leaks involving the compressor/condenser area. Because my A/C had been working before the accident and repair, this whole experience left me with serious concerns about the quality of the repair and the way my complaints were handled. The worst part was when I picked up my car after the temporary A/C fix. The owner, Richard, stepped out of his office just to tell me that "a bad review was not good for a business." In my opinion, that said a lot. I did not receive a meaningful apology or a clear plan to fully resolve the situation. It felt more like damage control than customer service. Based on my experience, I found this shop dishonest, dismissive, and unprofessional. I would not trust Caliber Collision Sunnyvale with my car again. read more

I just recently had an accident where someone hit my car while parked and my front bumper was hanging off so I worked with their insurance and was referred to caliber collision. I dropped my car off on a Monday and it was a pretty fast job. I was told the car would be ready by Friday and it was which was great because I had a rental for that week and was due friday. I worked with the service advisor Monica and she was so kind and explained all of the work that had been done and asked if I had any questions. They were very helpful with drop off of my car for repairs, rental car pick up and drop off when repairs were complete. I was rear ended recently while at a stop and had some minor damage. Insurance recommended Caliber Collision near where I live in Sunnyvale. Every step of working with Caliber to repair my rear end bumper was great. A worker there Ricardo explained the estimate and the work done on my bumper very clearly. Really happy with the work done and my rear bumper on my 2018 Honda Civic Si looked like it was brand new after repair work was done. Would definitely recommend this place to others. Convenience - 5/5, especially if you're insured through Liberty Mutual since Caliber is a verified partner shop. Service - 5/5, super friendly and helpful staff. They explained everything, answered all my questions, and I never felt rushed. Repair - 4.9/5, the replaced parts and paint job were perfect. Only complaint was that my back seat came back a bit dirtied up from the shop (slight grease/dirt smears) and a small screw cover was broken that I had to tape up. I recommend laying down plastic or tarp before bringing in your car if you have it. The free carwash and interior vacuum was a nice addition, as was free paint touchup on my rear bumper from random rocks/dings I've accumulated over the years. Time and Communication - 5/5, estimated 2 weeks and got it back in about 10 days. Received text notifications every other day on the status of the repairs. COVID Precautions - 5/5, it's a tight space inside but you can always stand outside to chat. They have plexiglass, masks required, hand sanitizer available. Everyone seems to respect social distancing/personal space. Would still recommend bringing a sanitizing wipe when you pick up your car to wipe down the frequent touch points. (Can never be too cautious!) Card payments only, no cash. Can't speak to the prices since I went with my insurance and didn't shop around, but overall I had a great experience getting repairs done here. Would recommend! read more

I had brought my 2003 Lexus in because the side view mirror cover was torn off in a minor accident, Monica reviewed it and suggested getting a replacement cover and Caliber would install it. I was able to find a replacement online and brought it in, Richard installed it in about 30-40 minutes and explained the installation and Monica and Caliber declined to charge for it as a customer courtesy - really gracious and helpful service! read more

I've had a wonderful repair experience at Caliber Collision. A bit of a background on my case: My car got scratched in a parking lot. The other party was at fault and their insurance (esurance) covered all of the repairs. On my first call they explained how to get esurance to work with them. On the day of the drop-off they had enterprise rental pick me up to get to my rental car. Throughout the repairs they sent me messages to update me on the status. The estimated repair time was 4 days, but they finished it within 2. For car pickup I didn't have to drop off my rental at enterprise, instead I just dropped it off at Caliber Collision, which was very convenient. Also, they washed my car and cleaned it up inside :) Overall I had a very smooth repair experience with them. read more

How was my experience with Caliber Collision? So good I recorded a podcast about it! My first entry on the CX Therapy Hall of Fame! I hit a deer on the freeway - fatal for the deer and not so good for the front right side of my car. I came to get an estimate and they said "we can take the car now and give you a ride home" - that was just the first hint at how seamless my experience was going to be. I was in a car accident when someone made an uncontrolled left turn out of nowhere. There was damage to the front of my car - there was a dent on the hood and the bumper had several scratches. When I brought my car to Ricardo at Caliber Collision, he was very communicative throughout the whole process. He would send messages whenever there was an update on the progress of the repair. My car also had some pre-existing damage to the front brackets (I bought the car used), but Ricardo fixed these for me free of charge! The repair ended up taking less time than expected. Overall, the whole process was a breeze. Caliber Collision even gave me a ride to the car rental shop, and took care of returning the rental for me once I came to pick up my car. I hope I won't need to go to a repair shop again, but if I do, I would definitely come back to Caliber Collision! Short version: I can't speak highly enough of this place. They rock. Just got my car back from Caliber after getting rear ended a second time. This is why we can't have nice things (ha)! They serviced my vehicle on both occasions under direct payment from my insurance company who are also awesome (but that's for another review). Work was done in a timely manner and communication was excellent, getting daily text updates on how it was going. On this second incident, additional damage was discovered and addressed without any issue. They also did most of the leg work setting up a car rental so I didn't have to mess with it. Got my ride back now all safe and in one piece, looking shiny and new. They clearly take pride in the job they do. Caliber keeps going above and beyond my expectations.
