I honestly don't leave reviews very often, but I wanted to leave one for this location because I always have such a great experience here. I come to the Melrose location all the time for the chicken salad, which is my favorite, and it's one of those places that's just consistently good. Every time I order it, it tastes exactly the way I expect it to. That kind of consistency is hard to find. The biggest reason I keep coming back, though, is the staff. Tonight I made sure to get their names because Irvin, Nancy, and Lydia are always so kind and welcoming. It's getting harder and harder to find genuinely good customer service, and they always make coming in feel pleasant and easy. We went to California Chicken Cafe last night for the Chinese Chicken Salad which is always perfect with tons of chicken, mandarin oranges, crunchy noodles, carrots and yummy dressing that we always get an extra of. Our friend loved the Chinese Wrap on a tortilla as she wasn't in the mood for salad. The wrap is similar to the salad but has snap peas which she loved. She said she'd order sgain with extra chicken next time. We also got the quarter chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. One thin you can always depend on with CCC is that the order will be right!! No restrooms but there are few community tables outside So weird, this place used to have inside seating, restrooms, restaurant comforts. Really miss the old days with this place. Where you can dine in, get pitas and sauces on the house and not be nickle and dined on literally everything here. There is no ambiance here since after Covid this establishment does not allow dine ins. This place really is just maximizing their profits in any way they can. Hey don't even put napkins and utensils in the bags either. Then literally anything you want whether it's a small sauce or a pita they charge you for. The food is great that's why we return, but value is definitely not here. Really wish they would at least start having dine ins again but let's face it, they keep this new business model to maximize profits and minimize staff. read more

I was pleased with the sealed packaging that my salad arrived in, and the fresh squeezed lemonade was place in a sealed container. The salad contained broccoli, pasta noodles, sliver carrots, one half of a large avocado,good helping of feta cheese, pita croutons on the side, bell peppers, lettus, ceasar salad dressing on the side. This is my preferred location for California Chicken Cafe. The inside lacks seating, and orders are taken outside. However, there is ample seating in the sidewalk area. The service was satisfactory, and our food was ready fairly quickly. Parking was somewhat challenging due to the restaurant's location in a small shopping center with limited spaces. I parked in the nearby neighborhood, which is permitted parking. I ordered the Caesar Wrap, which is always tasty, especially with extra Caesar dressing on the side. Tried this place after the gym, can honestly say one of the best Chinese chicken salads I've ever had! The interior was very clean and the service was excellent! Only thing I will say is the parking lot is very small and it's next to a cannabis place and we literally got hit while parked waiting for our food by a weed head. Why in the FLIP would you get rid of the original Veggie Wrap for that crunchy vegan thing? The whole point of the original Veggie Wrap was to be able to order something very closely spec'ed to the "California Chicken Salad" but with ZERO chance of chicken being added to it by mistake and in the convenient wrapped form. The whole, "just remove it" on another style wrap just has too high of a chance of being disappointed by surprise chicken... How do I know this? Because every time I've ordered my Veggie Wrap late after work and they are deciding to give away free stuff...I'm given chicken...chicken, on an order that ONLY has a Veggie Wrap...
