As you probably know, ADHD meds are often amphetamines and in the right dose, it can work beautifully, but too much... and it's a nightmare. After accidentally double-dosing, I was up for 24 hours and was wrecked. I couldn't eat... didn't want to drink... I just catatonically binged watched TV for 24 hours. I was dehydrated and my stomach was in knots. Hydration always makes you feel better, but I just didn't have the desire/tolerance to drink anything. I went in that morning and the RN mixed a "cocktail" of some magnesium and other things. She started the IV and literally within seconds I could taste the concoction. It wasn't unpleasant, but just tasted like you had a vitamin in your mouth. Within minutes, my stomach ache went away and I felt so relaxed. Immediately after the IV, I went for a BIG sushi lunch, came home around 1pm and crashed out. It literally reset me.

After a brief call with an employee named Paolo, who spoke positively about the clinic, I shared the information with my relative. In hindsight, I realize that in my desperation, I may have overlooked warning signs. At the time, I did not realize Paolo is not a medical professional, even though he was the first person discussing treatment options. The clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Nilda Agnes Abellera, who is board-certified in PEDIATRICS but whose clinic advertises integrative medicine. My relative traveled from out of state to begin what was described as an "intensive" 20-day cancer program. According to her account, the first three days did not feel intensive. She reported that infusion rates appeared slowed, staff could not explain the scientific basis for some treatments, and the doctor missed a planned medication review. She also observed what she believed was dried blood on a chair and described an IV bag fully draining while the needle was in place, which worried her. On October 9, 2025, she said her care was terminated immediately after raising concerns, without timely written notice, referrals, or arrangements to ensure access to medical care until she could establish care elsewhere. Referrals were only provided after I contacted the clinic. This abrupt termination caused a delay of over a month in her treatment and worsened her PTSD symptoms. She also tried to obtain her medical records multiple ways. On October 10, she requested them in person but was denied. She also submitted a written request and used the clinic's online inquiry form. As of this writing--52 days later--she has not received her complete records. When I called the clinic, Paolo was tense and dismissive, and I could not speak directly with Dr. Abellera. Given the situation, I became concerned about whether proper procedures were followed and intended to file a complaint with the Medical Board of California. Additional observations and concerns (personal experience): Family-run structure: The clinic is owned by Dr. Abellera. Paolo appears to manage many aspects, and another family member may also work there. This raised questions about oversight and role clarity. Online reviews: Of 32 Google reviews, 5 were five-star without details. Only one mentioned "cancer," making it hard to evaluate patient experiences compared with other clinics with hundreds of detailed reviews. Difficulty communicating with the physician: My relative and I tried to speak directly with Dr. Abellera; she did not speak with me, and my relative felt the doctor was unwilling to address her concerns. This lack of communication was alarming given her serious diagnosis. Cost vs. expectations: The program cost approximately $1,800 per day. Based on my relative's experience, the services did not match the program description. Others may feel differently, but this was our impression. Social media promotion: Paolo participates in Facebook groups promoting the clinic without identifying himself as an employee, which seemed misleading. I have included a screenshot for reference. In more than a decade in healthcare, I have never witnessed a more concerning divergence from a physician's duty to do no harm: terminating care without notice, effectively leaving my relative without immediate, comparable care options while facing life-threatening cancer.

But they've been respectful that I prefer treatments like fraxel laser and such. There is a reason why they recommend filler though, because it does show faster results than others. I was worried with the blood draw and she guides you every step of the way. The environment felt safe and really fostered positivity in a way that you don't feel judged for not knowing everything or making a mistake. I appreciate that she didn't just read off the binder ("aka lecture slides") like how some nursing professors would spend hours doing so I learned more from her in a few days compared to what I learned a whole semester. She broke down hard topics, very charismatic, and cracked a few jokes. I also like how she explained rationales and gave tips and tricks on how to memorize certain things. I wish she was a professor at my nursing program. I look forward to taking more of the other courses and certifications they offer. She was right there to guide us and verbally walk us through each step, which helped build my confidence. One thing I especially loved was how much critical thinking she incorporated into the class. She would give us different patient scenarios and quiz us, which really made us think through our clinical decisions.
