After a brief call with an employee named Paolo, who spoke positively about the clinic, I shared the information with my relative. In hindsight, I realize that in my desperation, I may have overlooked warning signs. At the time, I did not realize Paolo is not a medical professional, even though he was the first person discussing treatment options. The clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Nilda Agnes Abellera, who is board-certified in PEDIATRICS but whose clinic advertises integrative medicine. My relative traveled from out of state to begin what was described as an "intensive" 20-day cancer program. According to her account, the first three days did not feel intensive. She reported that infusion rates appeared slowed, staff could not explain the scientific basis for some treatments, and the doctor missed a planned medication review. She also observed what she believed was dried blood on a chair and described an IV bag fully draining while the needle was in place, which worried her. On October 9, 2025, she said her care was terminated immediately after raising concerns, without timely written notice, referrals, or arrangements to ensure access to medical care until she could establish care elsewhere. Referrals were only provided after I contacted the clinic. This abrupt termination caused a delay of over a month in her treatment and worsened her PTSD symptoms. She also tried to obtain her medical records multiple ways. On October 10, she requested them in person but was denied. She also submitted a written request and used the clinic's online inquiry form. As of this writing--52 days later--she has not received her complete records. When I called the clinic, Paolo was tense and dismissive, and I could not speak directly with Dr. Abellera. Given the situation, I became concerned about whether proper procedures were followed and intended to file a complaint with the Medical Board of California. Additional observations and concerns (personal experience): Family-run structure: The clinic is owned by Dr. Abellera. Paolo appears to manage many aspects, and another family member may also work there. This raised questions about oversight and role clarity. Online reviews: Of 32 Google reviews, 5 were five-star without details. Only one mentioned "cancer," making it hard to evaluate patient experiences compared with other clinics with hundreds of detailed reviews. Difficulty communicating with the physician: My relative and I tried to speak directly with Dr. Abellera; she did not speak with me, and my relative felt the doctor was unwilling to address her concerns. This lack of communication was alarming given her serious diagnosis. Cost vs. expectations: The program cost approximately $1,800 per day. Based on my relative's experience, the services did not match the program description. Others may feel differently, but this was our impression. Social media promotion: Paolo participates in Facebook groups promoting the clinic without identifying himself as an employee, which seemed misleading. I have included a screenshot for reference. In more than a decade in healthcare, I have never witnessed a more concerning divergence from a physician's duty to do no harm: terminating care without notice, effectively leaving my relative without immediate, comparable care options while facing life-threatening cancer.

I've always been hesitant to go to a medspa because of what I've read and heard about how pushy some businesses can be with new clients. I also felt intimidated that I would be talked down to because I have only researched treatments and have had no prior experience. I'm really thankful to say that my experience at Skin Refine Medspa has been extremely positive. I felt seen, heard and understood. Most of all I felt safe! I've been going to Skin Refine since January of last year and I absolutely loved my experience so much, I've been returning since and recommending them to my friends! In fact, I just went in today and felt confident to schedule a new treatment for myself. Thank you to the Skin Refine staff for making me feel safe and secure in my own skin. I am grateful for the ability to ask questions without committing to anything until I'm ready. I feel beautiful and so happy with my results!

Maryam has been incredible as my provider for fraxel laser, microneedling, and RHA redensity treatments. I've also received diamondglows here. It's a great refresher for your face. Maryam also provided tips on maximizing results and always takes your opinion in her recommendations. Altogether, my face has vastly improved. You can argue the treatments are pricy, but buying packages will get you a discount. I just think that's how the industry works so always get packages if you can. This place has a variety of treatment options, though they don't offer something like subcision, which is a more-involved procedure. But I'll just get that somewhere else and continue to come here for other treatments. Of course, they've recommended fillers and such for me. Rha redensity is like one. But they've been respectful that I prefer treatments like fraxel laser and such. There is a reason why they recommend filler though, because it does show faster results than others. The rha redensity provided the most improvement in a shorter time. They also have the skincare you need to purchase with ease. You're going to say those are expensive but they're not selling you products like La mer cream for $400. There is a parking lot, and there's always been space when I went, but the traffic getting there can be a bit much. All in all, I recommend doing at least one treatment here to see how you like it. You can also visit their instagram to see other's results. You might even see mine!

I just finished the IV and blood withdrawal certification course with Ms. Lynn. The communication…read morewith them in the beginning is kinda confusing, they take a while to reply. But the in-person classroom style experience was the best. The instructor was by far the best nursing instructor I've had (even better than the ones from my nursing program). She explains things in layman's terms and really simplifies it as if you have no medical background, despite the whole classroom being some sort of license nurse, in a nursing program, or have some medical experience. I was worried with the blood draw and she guides you every step of the way. The environment felt safe and really fostered positivity in a way that you don't feel judged for not knowing everything or making a mistake. I appreciate that she didn't just read off the binder ("aka lecture slides") like how some nursing professors would spend hours doing so I learned more from her in a few days compared to what I learned a whole semester. She broke down hard topics, very charismatic, and cracked a few jokes. I also like how she explained rationales and gave tips and tricks on how to memorize certain things. I wish she was a professor at my nursing program. I look forward to taking more of the other courses and certifications they offer. Fyi, you get a $50 discount if you're a returning customer, and then a discount if you do it with a group (7-8 or more people). You can combine the two! Parking was not a problem, located across the Safeway plaza and they give you instructions on the code in case the main door is locked. They're located on the second floor right in front of the elevators.

I highly recommend Astute Nurses for their IV Certification/Blood Draw class!…read more I graduated from my LVN program in March of this year and passed my NCLEX shortly after. After finally finding the time to register for this course through my job (which thankfully covered the cost), I can honestly say it was well worth it! Ms. J was my instructor, and she was absolutely amazing! She was personable, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. She made everything easy to understand while also refreshing so much of the knowledge I learned in nursing school. She was very thorough and really emphasized what the gold standard should look like when it comes to IV starts, blood draws, safety, and patient care. I was definitely nervous when it came time for the hands-on portion and actually poking, but Ms. J created such a safe and supportive learning environment. She was right there to guide us and verbally walk us through each step, which helped build my confidence. One thing I especially loved was how much critical thinking she incorporated into the class. She would give us different patient scenarios and quiz us, which really made us think through our clinical decisions. Even when we didn't get an answer right, she never made anyone feel singled out or embarrassed. Instead, she explained the rationale behind the answer, and that was incredibly helpful. As a new LVN, I really appreciated having an instructor who not only taught the skills but also explained the "why" behind them. I left the class feeling more confident and better prepared. I definitely recommend Astute Nurses to anyone looking to strengthen their IV and blood draw skills. They also offer wound care courses, which I'm looking forward to booking in the near future! Thank you, Ms. J, for such a great learning experience!

My experience with this business raises serious concerns about its advertising practices and…read moretreatment of consumer complaints. I scheduled an appointment in direct response to an Instagram advertisement that **explicitly promoted Botox at $8 per unit**. I relied on that advertised offer when deciding to book the appointment, take time away from work, and travel to the business. Upon arrival, I was informed that **Botox was not available** and that the only product available was **Xeomin at $10 per unit**. This was a different product at a higher price than the offer that prompted me to make the appointment. Because this information was not disclosed until I arrived--and after I had already taken time off work and traveled through traffic--I felt significant pressure to proceed with the service rather than leave. I consider the circumstances misleading and inconsistent with the promotional offer upon which I relied. I subsequently contacted the business to formally raise my concerns and provide an opportunity for them to address the matter. **My calls ultimately went unanswered and the business stopped responding to me.** Consumers should not have to discover after arriving for an appointment that an advertised product is unavailable and that the substitute being offered costs more. Advertising should accurately represent the product, price, availability, and applicable terms before a consumer commits their time and resources. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage prospective clients to **obtain written confirmation of the exact product, promotional price, and availability before booking or traveling to an appointment**. I will not return to this business.
