We (and our dogs) LOVE Bed and Biscuit. Heidi (the owner and operator) is an animal lover and deeply cares for our dogs. We have been boarding 3 of our dogs here for over the past 15 years. We have been using CA B&B for 10 years and are very pleased with the care of both our dogs and the property. My 2 large dogs required a lot of exercise as young pups. They stay together in a small stall (like an indoor horse stall) and not in crate boxes. The smaller size of the property allows for this type of accommodation. You do not pay extra for segments of exercise! They always come home and sleep for a day or two from all the activity they get on their vacation. As my dogs have aged, I've had the need to send one with a foot injury which was cared for and healed while I was gone. This is a small, family owned business. I would subtract 1/3 of 1 star for the lack of ability to email reservations and vaccine documentation. While I would prefer to be able to email Heidi, I do understand that she and her small staff are usually in the field with the dogs or horses and that phone and text is more reliable for her. So if you're looking for a Facebook page or other social media connection to this business, you're not likely to find it. They concentrate on the animals - not promotion of the business. I don't normally leave reviews, but California Bed and Biscuit is awesome! I have been taking my German Shorthaired Pointer here for over 3 years now, and I can't be happier to have a place that I know will take care of my little girl. The huge play area for the dogs is fantastic especially for my high energy pup. I take her for super long walks in the Penasquitos Canyon daily so it was important for me to find something larger than a kennel that has a 10x10 kennel with 10 minutes of outdoor play. California Bed and Biscuit allows your dogs to be dogs whether it's digging, running around like a looney, or just have fun outside hanging out under the sun. It's also important to have someone that will take good care of your furry loved ones when you can't take them traveling with you. Highly recommend Heidi to take care of you and your pup! read more

My dog Sadie is a handful, she is so timid and shy she will not listen or come to anyone, so what do we do if we want to leave town? Fortunately I stumbled upon Heidi and Bed and Biscuit!!!!!!! I reluctantly left our dog, I knew she would be at least safe at this beautiful property with a loving woman. What I did not expect was Sadie's behavior when I picked her up yesterday. She was happy and calm and so attached to Heidi, I have NEVER seen her behave this way. She is so bonded and comfortable with Heidi, she was being so affectionate with her I have never seen this behavior. I cannot say enough great things about this boarding facility. Heidi is wonderful and loves and cares for every dog. I have two dogs that have been in her care for four months. I visit them at least once a week and walk them on beautiful trails nearby. Don't let the location of Ramona fool you. The facility is located next to Mt. Woodson and is a quick and easy 30 minute drive from San Diego. Heidi has turned pastures into dog runs and has a full kennel and grooming area. The dogs are treated with kindness and the best of care. They are walked twice daily, get top quality food and treats, and have their bedding changed daily. This is a five star hotel for dogs. When I am there I can tell that my dogs love Heidi and her staff. I do not like having to have my dogs in a boarding facility and tried Petsmart once. There is no comparison. If you want to be certain that your dogs are treated with love and are in a top of the line boarding facility chose California Bed and Biscuit. If you need short term or long term boarding, there is no where else I would go. The prices are also lower then other facilities that are not any where near the quality of care offered by Heidi. I was very impressed at first when we found Heidi's Ranch and her California Bed & Biscuit Dog Boarding facility. I liked the fact that the dog get daily exercise outside the Kennel and the rules and structure. Heidi told me that they will get daily exercise by letting them out to a large fenced in field twice a day for a couple hours and at least one off-leashed hike a week. When I dropped off our 3 year old German Shepherd (male - 85 lbs) they had me sign their contract and writing her a paper with feeding instruction. We provided all our food, cookies and bully sticks. Long story short, he gained 15 extra pounds in little over two weeks. Yes 15 pounds. I can't help it to feel a angry and disappointed at Heidi and her staff. After confronting Heidi about the extra 15 pounds she told me I should know how much my dog loves his food - yes of course he is a dog but I also left specific instruction (two cups for breakfast - two cups for dinner). This did not stop Heidi and her staff to start feeding my dog three times a day and god knows how much. Before you make customers sign all your contract please make sure to pay attention to your customers feeding instruction you request. He supposed to get a bath before we picked him up but even that bath did not get rid off the bad Kennel smell. He seemed out of breath quickly and my gut feeling tells me that my dog also did not got the exercise promised but I will never find out nor I want to. Nice Ranch though... read more

I have boarded my Labrador, Betty, with Heidi for 7 years -usually twice a year for 10-21 days. Betty was always happy to see Heidi and the ranch when she arrived , and sad to go when we left. The facilities are top notch, and I know Heidi showed Betty and every guest that she cared for them. Heidi has extensive experience with animals and knowledge of what is in their best interests. Wow! This place is more like like a summer camp for kids! Nestled within the hills of Ramona, the first thing my wife and I noticed were the beautiful orchards, horses grazing, and the wide-open space. Frankly speaking I actually thought to myself "forget the dogs, I WANT to stay here!" There is even a meticulously maintained dog obstacle course! And when the dogs go for their "walk", it's more like a nature hike throughout the gorgeous property....11 acres mind you! Then we met Heidi and Will, the proprietors. We were struck by the truly sincere and deep connection they have with dogs and other animals. This is clearly less of a business venture and more of a passion. To put this in perspective, we have boarded our two German Shepherds at other "boutique" and far more expensive facilities along the beach and by far, "Bed and Biscuits" have them beat by light years! To sum things up, we met Heidi and Will as our new dog sitters and we left as friends. Heidi and her fantastic team at California Bed and Biscuit offer experienced, personalized care for your pups, with extras like morning and afternoon playtime in fully fenced pastures, and a free bath before you pick them up. I looked long and hard, and visited many boarding facilities, and nothing compared with California Bed and Biscuit. We recently boarded our two whippets for five days, and they came back happy, tired out, in fantastic condition, and clean! Heidi, the owner has a beautiful piece of property in Ramona, and the dogs get several hours in the morning, and then again in the afternoon, to run and play in fully fenced pastures. Our boy Aston needed to get a couple of medications and a supplement each day, and Heidi did all that at no extra charge. In fact there are no extra charges for the hours of playtime, medications, or special food requests. Heidi is extremely knowledgeable, and very experienced with dogs. Even our shy girl, Elise, took to her right away!
