I love The Bark House! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Ive hired/recommend Hector (who, by the way - is the most solid dog person I have ever met) to anyone and everyone I know! He's helped train many, many dogs (even some former dogs of my own because they were taking me for walks when it very well should be me taking them for walks)! Long story short, after a couple training sessions (for both myself and the dogs), they now both walk by your side and do pretty well off leash! Yay ... And ~ not only that but Hector reinstates the training in their weekly camp visits too! What I love about camp is the team truly does it all! The dogs get exercise by going on walks, hikes, or even bicycle rides & they also get play time in the kiddie pool. Hector really does an amazing job of making your dogs feel right at home! Your dog is always in good hands with The Bark House team. I couldn't recommend another company more. If you're looking to hire a trainer, for someone to watch your dog for an overnight stay(s), or even just say camp ~ the Bark House is truly your one stop shop. Give them a try! The Bark House is such a perfect place for my crazy Vizsla puppy!! Hector is amazing and Bella does so well with him. The dogs don't just sit around there. Hector has taken Bella out for bike rides, pack walks and all kinds of fun extra activities to make sure the dogs are getting the best experience for their activity level. He has been working with Labs & More (you may have seen him on the news!) to help those pups find new homes and he does private training lessons and boarding as well (Bella has been boarded and I never got one call about her having an issue and she was so calm and happy when I came home to her). The Bark House Pet Service is amazing! Hector loves dogs and it shows in how he takes care of them. The dogs don't just sit there (like at some other camps), he takes them on hikes, trains them, and he takes time to interact and play with them. He has lots of experience taking care of dogs, so I feel very comfortable with leaving my pup with him for extended stays. He also sends pictures and/or videos of my dog while having a good time at camp. My golden has TONS and TONS of energy, but after a camp day she returns home calm and ready for a nap! He has also helped train my golden puppy to respect the holder of the leash, heel, and not to overrun small children in her sheer excitement. If I had to recommend a pet service provider in San Diego, this would be the one without a doubt. read more

My review is based on my experience trying to reach Bark House for initial questions and understanding of their service to see if this is a good fit for us. The camp may be amazing- I didn't get that far because the communication was so poor. I left a voice message on a Friday seeking more info. No response by Tuesday. Left another message. Decided to use the contact us form on the website. Received a short reply via email only asking: where do I live, has my pet has ever camped before. Nothing else. Message did not include a contact name at all so I'm not sure who reached out to me. The combination of bad communication coupled with no address listed anywhere (on the site, google, yelp) are deal breakers. From what I could gather, Bark House appears to be a residential home in/near Poway and perhaps still working out early growing pains. Again, their dog service could possibly be great- but their human service was bad. read more

Hector is absolutely amazing and our pups LOVE the Bark House! For about a year we've sent our pups (2 2 year old lab mixes) at least once a week to the Bark House. The dogs love it (they run right out to the Bark Bus) and they are nice and tired out when they return later that evening! Additionally we've had the pups stay for long weekends when we are out of town. We absolutely love and trust this business with our fur babies. read more

I love The Bark House. It changed my life as a new pet owner with a very very high energy dog. I send my pup, Romeo, to camp 2 - 3 times a week and it is fantastic how out right exhausted he is every time I pick him up. Romeo is oh so very excited every time I drop him off. His tail and behind shake like crazy! It is the ONLY situation where I can leave him and he has absolutely no separation anxiety. I think Romeo's reaction speaks for itself, but here is what I think... I did a lot of research before I decided to go with The Bark House and I am certain I made the right choice for Romeo. The Bark House is not like other daycares where it is inside restricted space play or you need to pay extra for play time. What really drew me to The Bark House was that the dogs are able to run and play freely outside almost ALL DAY and then the bigger dogs are taken out for a long walk or hike each day. I also like how Romeo get exposure to all types and sizes of dogs, which has made him better socialized. Hector is great and so attentive with each and every dog. When I first met him I could tell how passionate he was about animals and his business. I have even invested in personal training for leash walking and behavior. I have seen a fantastic improvement after just two sessions. If you are looking for an outstanding doggie daycare, a great trainer, a place to board your dog know that your dog will be properly taken care of. Give The Bark House a try. read more

My dog and I have been working with Hector for over a year now. My dog has dog aggression and was terrible to walk on leash. I had been through a few trainers before I met Hector but knew I had found the one when I met him because he speaks my language. With Hectors help my dog is great on leash and moving in the right direction with her dog aggression. I cant say enough about how great Hector has been for us. He's always just a text away and I highly recommend him for training and boarding your fur baby! read more

I've been taking my pup to the bark house for almost a year now. Whether it's just an overnight or for multiple days I never feel guilty for leaving my pup with Hector and his team. They do a great job caring for and even training your dog (extra service). Most of my friends now use the Barkhouse to care for their pets when leaving town or just needing a night off. The Bark House Pet Service is one of the best things I have ever spent money on. Both my husband and I work 12 hour shifts, which isn't ideal for our crazy pup. I heard about Bark House from another client and have been overly impressed by the service from the very beginning. Hector (the owner) is wonderful and very prompt. It is apparent how much he values his clients, customer service, and most importantly, the dogs. I never have to worry whether or not my dog is being taken care of; Hector sends me pictures and updates of my dog throughout the day, which is not only comforting, it also really makes my day!! Hector was recommended by our neighbor and I am so glad we have found him! We left our two dogs there for a week and they were so well taken care of. Loved that Hector sent us photos while we were on our trip! Such a relief to not have to worry about our babies while we were travelling.
