Stopped by this billiard shop for the first time just to browse, and honestly, we ended up having a great experience. As soon as we walked in, Jerry greeted us and asked if we needed any help, which immediately made us feel welcome. We mainly play pool for fun at home and at our local billiard hall, so we weren't necessarily planning on buying anything. Ruben took the time to show us different cues, explain the differences between them, the differences in the pricing and even let us try them out on the table. Service with Jerry was great. He gave me a time slot and kept me posted on his day and when he would make it to the house to do the pool table re- leveling. Jerry had the table leveled quickly and was finished within a half hour time. Lens is the best local place to get new balls, have balls polished, pool cues and all the accessories. Working with Jerry or Ruben is always a friendly conversation and the knowledge from their vendors makes it easy to do business with them. My new favorite pro shop! I've recently had some trouble with my tip falling off my break cue mid-shot. California Billiard Supply was the only spot in the Peninsula/South Bay area that could help me. For a very fair price, my break cue was fixed with a White Diamond tip, which is easier for me to control than my old phenolic tip. I also appreciate how this spot is open until 6 on weekdays to allow those with traditional work schedules to make it through traffic before closing. Make sure to check this place out! read more

Sure I can respect that, was given a shot and I decided to just install the one I have so needed a quote. As someone with a heavy customer service and sales background, I really appreciate great service when I go into any business. Ruben's customer service is certainly second to none. He's not someone who's going to be fake, put on a smile and pretend to be nice just to put on a show; like you'd see going into a bank, or from the front end host of a restaurant. He's genuine, honest, highly knowledgeable and willing to have an in depth conversation if you have technical questions about billiards and dart equipment. I haven't picked up a pool cue or darts on a regular basis in about 10 years. I've been wanting to get back into it and was going to buy a pool cue and set of darts online. However, when searching for local billiards to see what's still out there, I found California Billiard Supply. I dropped in, briefly told Ruben what I was looking for along with my budget. He gave me some ideas of what pool cues I should be looking at based on my budget and skill level. He even put one together similar to what he thought I would like based on what I told him, and told me I should hit a few balls around to get a feel for it. He also demonstrated some of the differences between weight, how it affects English and your game overall. We looked through their catalog, I picked one out along with a carrying case and it showed up a few days later. While writing up the order he even showed me a couple sets of darts so I could think about what I want while awaiting my cue. Upon my return, he was SLAMMED. Customers in and out of his store, phone calls coming in off the hook and he did a really great balancing act between it all. I did end up purchasing a set of darts when I picked up my pool cue, but wanted to return when he wasn't so busy to ask some additional questions about dart set ups. I came back the next morning, he put a few setups together for me to try out, explained the advantages and drawbacks to each one and then let me test them out on their dart board. I chose some new plastic tips, shafts and flights for the set of darts I purchased the day prior and was on my way. Even if this wasn't the ONLY billiards supply shop in my area, I would choose to come back here any time I want to try a different setup for my darts, buy an alternate shaft for my pool cue, or if/when I choose to buy a pool table. I would highly recommend coming IN-PERSON if you're looking for great service. He usually has customers in the store and phone calls coming in. So, I'd imagine it's difficult to get back to customers by email. Plus, it's just fun to talk to people who are so damn cool, nice and willing to share their expertise. Ruben is the man! read more

Len's Billiards installed my pool table 21 years ago. It needed complete refurbishing after all that time requiring cushions to be replaced and new felt installed. Jerry at California Billiards took my order and gave me a fair price and promptly scheduled my repair service. I went into the store where Ruben helped my select the felt color and took my cues for tip repair (that comes free as part of the service for table repair which is really nice). The cues were repaired expertly by Ruben. Jerry came in within a week to repair the table. He took the rails one day earlier to replace the cushions at his shop. He came the next day with one helper and promptly completed all reinstall of cushions, felt, leveling, etc. He was very careful and clean in his work and showed expertise to make my table good as new. I am very happy with the service, promptness, quality and overall friendliness and straight forward business with this company.
