i've used them for many years and they've always been great with the low rate n good service. I haven't needed to cash a check in over a year. It's been a little time and I just went there yesterday and unfortunately I'll never go again. I was blown away when she told me she wanted $2000 to cash my $20,000check. 10%. $2,000 to cash a check is beyond ridiculous and if they actually have people paying them that I need to get into the Chech Cashing business. Who in their right mind is going to give somebody $2000 to cash a check with no risk cashing it. I have a perfect history and everything was approved. After I took my check back and was walking away, she told me she may be able to do 5% $1000 to cash the check. This is a very horrible experience. There's an old lady who was wearing a glasses and a second lady next to her. She's looks like she's young but that's not the issue , the issue I had with these two ladies I come in every time to this location never had an issue with one of the ladies over there, they never asked me for ID for getting a cashier check but today at July 1, 2024 2 PM afternoon I came in asking for a cashier check. The lady told me you need ID. I didn't have an ID with me at the time so they told me there's no other way until they see my ID, which is very understandable and I walked out. I sent one of my guys to the same location to go get it done which had his ID and told him you have to wait for another hour because the system is very slow and there was people in front of me and behind me which they had no issue, but because I am a Latino guy. They were very racist to me and I felt very uncomfortable and scared and they were looking at me making jokes to each other and I felt ashamed in a way they were making jokes of my accent and body just because I did not have an ID physical ID with me. NO STARS. The people in the local store was nice gave me instant cash when I needed it. The problem was within a week I was involved in bad auto accident which almost totalled my car and put me out of work for 6 weeks. The people in the store deferred my payment and my case went to their corporate office. This no star rating is against the California check Cashing corporate office. I made payment arrangements with them and thought it was going give me time to get back to work and start recovering from my financial setback. Instead, these scoundrel loan shark fools, went against our agreement, took full payment directly from my bank. This cause another financial setback preventing me from being able to work. Fortunately I gave some very generous friends who helped me. Do not use California Check Cashing. They are scoundrels. They lie. I would like to see them go out if business. I go to cash 1 in San Bruno all the time great service but I've gone here a couple times due to lack of options. Sadly the service is never fast.... and I had been helped by an older white lady with blonde hair who gave me a hard time for not providing my own check ( my understanding is that they provide one if needed as a service that's part of the process) then she informed me there was information missing in my profile and acted annoyed as if I knew that and it was my fault....It's hard enough on a persons ego to need to utilize a place like this in the first place and then to not be treated with kindness....just not right. read more

Sometimes you will get someone that is having a great day and willing to help you out or other times you will get someone that looks at you if you're satan himself. I've come here twice to cash some checks. First time went through, second time they wouldn't take it. Even though they stamped it, verified funds, all that jazz. Last second, they said they don't wanna take it. Even though it's the same exact type of check I cashed last time. Blows my mind.... Other than that, I hope you don't need their loan services. Usually we are received by amazing people that have great customer service, even if they don't speak our language. Today, unfortunately, was a complete different story. We were helped by a lady named Terry. I don't know if she was having a bad day, if she had personal issues going on or if she was just simply rude-obnoxious. Just an FYI to any management team that takes time to read this, please take some time to speak to your employees and make sure they are willing to help anyone regardless of where they come from or language they speak. They opened at 8am, I was there between 10-10:40 am. Why didn't she count the money for another register before opening. They were unable even to verify a perfect check issued by a legitimate company. The service needs significant improvement. I've actually never had a bad experience here with or without a friend for my own personal business or theirs. They are the usual pace you would expect at a typical check casher to be. What were you all expecting, drive thru liquor store window service? They are always knowledgeable, professional, and courteous every time I have been in to see them. I have had different tellers everytime. They are the closest one to my house. It's walking distance for me, 5 minutes, so I opt to come here oftener than not. I used to frequent many check cashing places in the past. Some in SF have closed or are no longer 24 hours. I have had much longer waits and lines in other stores that weren't as clean and just as understaffed and more of a homeless shelter than here, so maybe MY overall experience with ck cashers has made this in comparison seem way more pleasant, but honestly no, they are very expedient as far as business and money are handled. As for Western Union I have only known hassle with other friends trying to get their money tsfr, and I never had that experience here, so I will always come back. read more

I went last week and the lady, old blond overweight, said I needed current bank statement and last two stubs. Ok I understand that part. I got both of them and went three days later at 355pm Sunday. I was in line and waiting when they oh we have one more person. When I said I was there for a cash advance, she sorry but we are closed and can't give you a cash advance. I said I have been waiting here 10 mins. I have everything you asked me to bring. She said oh you have your own checks, I looked at her and of course. She took everything and looked at my statement and said oh sorry it's two months old. It's December 4th I haven't received my November statement. It's not 2 months it's 1 month old. They or should I say she did not want to help me at all. She probably wanted to go home, but if you have a customer there on time, Great customer service is to help out the customer and not have them leave without any help at all. I have been here before, but never helped out by her. Worst customer service I have ever received. Last time I come here. Hope management or owner see this. This store is a JOKE. I had some emergency repairs needed doing to my house so gave a check to my handyman to get some plumbing supplies while i was off getting some other equipment. This was URGENT. So half an hour goes by and i get a call from Chevonne at the store who asks me my name and what the check number was. I told her I was driving and couldnt access my check number but i could tell her everything else about the check, the person trying to cash it, my SSN and my fave ice cream to verify my ID if only Chevonne had ASKED ME!!!! Instead she just hung up and declined to cash the check!!!! How stupid is that? I called her back and all i got was attitude from her about I had an accent 2nd time and I dint the first time (what?!!!) and how she was protecting ME by not cashing the check and there was nothing she could do now as the check had been decline in the system and i was "S&*^ out of luck. Nice customer service. I Look forward to speaking to her manager Liz Denatali tomorrow and will update this after that.
