Concho and his team did a great job on my pool project…read more The building inspector was difficult at times but they pushed through the troubles without additional charges. I appreciated that. The pool was on a hillside with an infinity edge, so not the easiest to build. It turned out great.

On February 23 I was able to finally get ahold of someone at 5 Star to discuss the leak detection…read morereport that was created at their direction (leak detection completed on 2/11). Our pool has a crack and was losing a lot of water daily. Their leak detection company did a temporary repair. I've gone back and forth with someone at their office about the applicability of the warranty and that crack repairs aren't covered. The warranty is clear that crack repairs aren't excluded-- it covers all work done at the pool. Regardless, they said they would send someone out. My pool has been leaking for over 3 months and it needs to be repaired. Today Jose called me to say that they initially warned us that our pool was "failing" and that it had old construction standards. NOTHING WAS COMMUNICATED TO US ABOUT THIS. Why would I elect to pay $16K+ to redo the pool if it was structurally failing? It literally makes zero sense. This company is plain lying and won't even come to look at the crack. At the very least, come see the crack with your own eyes and HONOR YOUR WARRANTY! I've been practically begging Jose for the last month to put us on the schedule to come look at this crack and today when he told me no since our pool is allegedly failing, I asked if I needed to get in contact with an attorney. He then hung up in my ear. The unprofessionalism of this company is actually astounding. Next step will be reporting to the BBB, the Contractor's State Licensing Board, and their insurance (if they have any). Then onto litigation I suppose.

I don't write many reviews anymore, and honestly, I haven't had many contractor experiences that…read morewould motivate me to change that. But Lassiter Excavation was so good that I couldn't continue to be lazy.  For context, I was replacing an old 35,000-gallon swimming pool with a skinnier lap pool. Lassiter started by completely removing the massive 1975 pool, including every scrap of concrete and piping.  Then they backfilled and compacted. Working to my soils engineer's specifications, they imported and compacted 18 truckloads of quarry fines in carefully controlled 8-inch lifts through the full 12-foot depth of the deep end, all the way to finished grade. They used multiple pieces of equipment, including jumping jacks, a Bobcat, and a vibratory sheepsfoot roller (which I had to look up), and they coordinated compaction testing throughout the process.  When they were done, it looked like a pool had never been there. The site was fully prepared for the new excavation, which Lassiter then completed flawlessly.  I measured their forms with a laser level and laser tape measure, and length, width, diagonals, position and elevations were all within 1/8 inch. That's impressive considering the new lap pool is nearly 60 feet long. When they were finished digging, the walls and floor were razor straight and right on their marks. The crews were outstanding -- friendly, hardworking, detail-oriented, and consistently professional. They maintained an exceptionally clean jobsite throughout the project and even helped me reclaim some old redwood decking.  Special thanks to Santana, Ricardo, Daniel, Jose and team for answering all my questions and caring so much about the end result. If you're considering any excavation work, I highly recommend reaching out to Lassiter Excavation and talking with Bob. They exceeded my expectations in every respect.

They finished on time and on budget, and handled the permitting so we didn't have to worry about any of the details. The gentlemen on the crew were really nice (SUPER hardworking) and did a great job communicating everything we needed to know, which was much appreciated. Can't recommend them highly enough!
