Where do I start? I recently moved to Tracy and I have been trying to find a dental office that is closed to home. After doing my research, I called CDC and at first they didn't answer, which is understandable, either dealing with a patient or on another car. So i emailed them instead to schedule an appt. They called me back within the hour and I was able to get in the same week and on a Saturday too! Which was amazing for my work schedule. The lady who scheduled my appointment was super friendly and had great mannerisms! Fast forward to the appointment... i checked in, filled out paperwork and waiting about 8 minutes to get taken back to my room and get X-rays. The assistant that helped me was super friendly, talkative and was very gentle during the X-rays, later on i found out he's the hygienist! Which he's also amazing at that! The doctor came in about 15 min later after my X-rays were taken, she got delayed with another patients procedure, which is totally understandable, front desk and assistants came in to inform me of delays so I appreciate that! The dr was very sweet, went over my history and took a look at my teeth and i had Zero cavities and my overall mouth looked great! Which is good to know since i went to a different dentist last year and told me i needed to get all this work done which I knew wasn't true, they just wanted the $$. Every room has a different theme, I got the Altamont Pass wind turbines (or fans how i like to call them) and when i was going to the hygienist's room, there was another room that was Disney themed! Right after my first appointment, they rushed to schedule several cleanings and a wisdom tooth extraction which they refused to perform without a microbial wash they wanted to charge nearly $200 PER TOOTH for, which insurance would not cover. These things cost like $10-20 a bottle. read more

Dr. Lata, Dr. Poliki and the entire staff are absolutely amazing. I felt so welcome and they took excellent care of my dental needs, and even though I don't usually leave Yelp reviews, I simply have to say something about California Dental Care! I'd give more stars if I could! I needed a root canal and crown earlier this year. I had the root canal done in the Bay Area, but the same doctor was unable to also do the crown. I called around many other dentists in the bay, but none worked out (poor service, scheduling issues, etc). I was recommended Dr. Lata, so I made the drive from San Jose all the way to Tracy, and it was very worth it! The receptionist and other staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful both in office and on the phone. Both Dr. Lata and Dr. Poliki were very kind and knowledgeable, listened to me, reassured me, and did a great job with my crown. Recently, I was having some trouble chewing on that tooth, so I called the office and they recommended that I come in to have it checked out. While it was a long drive from San Jose to Tracy, it was very worth it. I was seen within 5 minutes of reaching the office (which was very nice after the long drive!), I explained my issues to the doctor, and it was resolved right away! I'm so happy I can comfortably chew again and I'm not having any more pain. Both doctors and their whole staff are very knowledgeable, kind, caring and helpful. This was hands down the best dental experience I've ever had. I think it can be hard to find an honest and trustworthy dentist, but at California Dental Care I felt I was in great hands! When it comes to my future needs it's California Dental Care that will receive my loyal business! The facility is brand new and love the art work throughout. Most importantly how clean the office and patient rooms are. The quotes on the walls related to teeth and dental work gives the office such a unique look and vibe! I have to say...first impression of this place is AWESOME! Lobby area is clean and well decorated. Walked in with my daughters and were greeted by friendly and professional staff. Arrived at our 4:30 appointment, and were in the chairs by 4:32. They made both my daughters feel at ease, the decor is awesome, a beautiful wall mural of the San Francisco Golden Gate bridge in one office and a Disney scene in the other. Dr. Karir was soft spoken but well liked by my daughters. AND they had the old school toy chest for after they were done with their appointment. I haven't seen this type of personable service since I was a kid going to our family dentist. I hope to have them as our dental provider for a long time if this is how they conduct business. Definitely check them out! They even offered to help me with the bad partial that I had made by WD. A HUGE difference from the robotic and emotionless WESTERN DENTAL...do not go there, they love to waste patients time and sell products and services that are overpriced and unnecessary! When you come in for appointments, they don't greet you, they make you sign in on a kiosk. And when you are finally called in, you usually wait in the chair for 30-60 minutes while people walk around and talk. read more

I made an appointment with this office making it clear my insurance would be changing soon and wanted to use all of my benefits possible prior to my insurance change. I showed up for my Saturday appointment only to be told they could not reach my insurance company therefore all they were going to do that day was take X-rays. I was very unhappy considering I would now be losing out on my soon to be ending benefits however I did make another appointment for about two weeks or so later, at which point I would be covered under my new benefits. The night before my appointment I received a call, at about 4:45pm, advising me they were unable to reach this insurance also. At this point I was so upset I don't remember which suggestion they made, to reschedule until they could reach my insurance or to go ahead and come in but I would be responsible for payment. I believe they suggested both and let me chose. By this time I was fuming. They had two weeks to reach my insurance. If they were having trouble they could have called me, I would have reached them myself and had the insurance contact the dentist office. I had no trouble reaching my insurance since that is where I had gotten the name and number of this office. Due to their lack of diligence (that's the nicest way I can think to put it) they cost me $1500 in benefits I could have used. If not for the second time they claim to not be able to reach my insurance I would have overlooked the first time. Never have I experienced and office who cared so little and was so rude about their negligence. read more

Dr Karir and her staff are so great and friendly at California Dental. My family and I have been going there for 10+ years now. I work and go to school and they always work with my hectic schedule! This is hands down the best dental care I have been to. Super affordable! The staff is extremely nice and patient. They are very understanding about having to commute and scheduling. The doctor is very clear about the procedure and makes me feel comfortable. I had two root canals and a filling done and they were both a breeze. Pain free and quick. The doctor was constantly asking if I was ok and always apologized if she hurt me by accident. She is the best! Also they play amazing music while you get your teeth done. My family and I love this dentist. They are very flexible with appointments. We needed to have all our appointments by the end of the year due to our insurance so they were very accommodating and helped us get the most out of our coverage. She charged us a very decent price for root canals, crowns, etc. The office is very clean and comforting, the staff are very welcoming. I called back in late 2015 with an acute toothache that was later discovered to be an abscessed tooth requiring a root canal. I was surprised at how fast Dr. Karir and staff were able to accommodate me with such an erratic schedule. Not only was the root canal painless, but the follow up was appreciated afterwards as well. As of recent, I have had another root canal done and highly recommend them if anyone is hesitant or those especially that have any fear of pain, you are in good hands! read more

What a great experience I had when I went to Dr Lata Karir's office for my appointment. The staff is great and always helpful. Her office is unlike any other dentist's office I've been to before. Very pleasant, relaxing and comfortable environment for a dental practice. She is excellent at keeping up with the best and latest technologies to provide the highest level of dental care possible. Absolutely horrible dentist. I went to these guys b/c I chipped a tooth. during the initial consulation they "cleaned and did a check-up on my teeth" - which lasted 3 min. What a joke. Then, for the chipped tooth, my dental insurance clearly covers 100% of the costs to restore the tooth (root canal and crown). First, I had to go to another dentist b/c these guys can't do the root canals. They referred me out to a dentist about 80 mi from my house (they swore there was nothing closer - bull%#@^!). After the root canal, I called these guys back to schedule the crown. They tried to tell me I'd have to pay them $450 up front in "fees" not covered by the insurance. I knew my insurance was supposed to cover it all, so I called the insurance to find out what was going on. The insurance told me the dentist wasn't supposed to be trying to charge me anything. These guys were trying to rip me off. Save your money. Take your teeth somewhere else. read more

Unfortunately I do not have a very positive outlook on Dr. Karr's office. My self, 2 children and my mother have been a patient of Dr. Karr's for a few years now. Although Dr. Karr has a very gentle touch and will continue to numb the mouth for as much is as needed, that is about all that is positive. She does not explain anything that is going on with the patients teeth. Does not explain what the numbers are that she is counting. Does not acknowledge the receading gum line and when asked says it's nothing. No!!!! Dr. Karr it is something because it never used to look that way. I trusted the office to be forthright and honest. I believed the office was fair when they charged me $200.00 for each extraction for a total of $400.00. Come to find out the tooth extraction itself was covered under my insurance and should have been no cost to me. come to find out I was charged for the ANTIBACTERIAL WASH. Number 1: I was not informed of this by the office. Alll they said was it will cost $200.00 for each extraction. Number 2: once I confronted the office they said it was Dr. Karr's practice to use it. I was never afforded the opportunity to make my own decision and go somewhere else That right was taken away from me because I chose to TUST the office. Next complaint, when receiving a regular check-up, other dentists polish, plaque removal, floss and give a fluoride treatment. Dr. Karr only does the polish and plaque removal. She is cutting out TWO procedures. Why is this Dr. Karr. These procedures are INCLUDED in our coverage and you are denying us YOUR PATIENTS full dental care that we ultimately pay for anyway. The final straw was I made two appointments to have fillings done. I could not physically have my entire mouth numbed just to make the office happy. I stood their and watched the receptionist make my appointment for one day and then wrote my second appointment a month later all of this completed while Dr. Karr was sitting right there. Needless to say, upon going in for my first appointment that was written on my card, they had erased my name, highlighted in blue and wrote someone elses name. I walked out and the office has not called me back since. So... my advice to all of you who think you are getting the best treatment around. Guess again. She may appear to be nice and gentle but, it is my belief that she is upcharging her patients and does not inform them of WHY the pricing is the way it is. It is my opinion that everyone needs to talk outside their circle, call their ins. coverage and find out exactly what you are entitled too. Debbie Coe read more
