I have bought two vehicles from California Motors! The first time was when they were in Stockton and now closer to home in Lodi. Both vehicles were reliable and looked nice. They both had low mileage. One of the vehicles is a company vehicle and I still use it daily! I got it with just 32k miles! Purchased a 2017 GMC pick-up with only 60k miles in January 2024. Salesman and process was nice. But in March of 2024, the transmission went out on the truck and left me stranded. GMC dealership noted 'check engine light' and 'various codes' which showed transmission failure were deleted prior to me purchasing the truck Contacted this dealership to obtain service records and tell them about the issues and was ignored and thrown off. Had to pay almost $9,000 for the transmission to be rebuilt. I am extremely disappointed, and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING FROM HERE. read more

We bought one at California Motors and unfortunately it had an issue come up that ended up being bigger than expected. I have been screwed before by dealers so I was very weary. But DJ and David @ California Motors took care of me and my family 100%. They let me borrow a truck while it was being worked on. They kept me informed the whole way and at the end went over everything that was done in detail to put my mind at ease. I bought a truck about a year and a half ago, yes i'm just now getting around to writing this, but this happened in the course of a few months after I bought it. So the buying experience wasn't bad, they did what they could with what I had to bring to get me financed. The truck had a check engine light on and the AC was not charged, typical with a used vehicle. They charged the AC which worked great. The check engine light unfortunately was an issue. Apparently it was an oil pressure sensor that was triggering it. They told me that it had pressure and would still run until they could swap it. I ended up taking the truck to have them look at it three different times. On the third time they decided to purchase a new engine from LKQ and began the install before consulting with me. Not complaining about that at all. The real problems came when the same light kept coming on. Stupidly I did not pursue this nor did I want to go back. That was dumb on my part. Months later the truck developed a clanking noise that got worse and worse. I took it to Sanborn Chevrolet where they discovered that the fly wheel was cracked. This was due to the fact that the mechanic at California Motors, which now I question whether he is certified or not, forgot to put a transmission dowel pin back in. The torque caused that bolts to loosen up and the flywheel to flex then cracked. All in all is cost me over $800 to fix their screw up. The technician said that he didn't know how the transmission didn't torque out of the vehicle. I drive my daughter in this vehicle. Also when the new motor was put in the mechanic spun the wheel with the steering wheel disconnected which cause the steering position sensor to go out so now I have no traction control or steering stability. All in all this was the worst experience I have ever had buying a vehicle. I would no and will not every recommend this lot to anyone. I should have stuck with this and gone a lot farther with it but live and learn I guess. They were nice enough to give me two loaners vehicles while mine was being worked on which also had check engine lights on and the one of them ran very poorly. Just please beware of this dealer. I think there is more underlying then what they say with their vehicles. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! My husband and I had gotten a car from here previously. Unfortunately my husband was in an accident and the car was totalled. We kept going to look at their inventory. My husband fell in love with the Impala LTZ they had. Drove it off the lot that day. Harvey made the whole car buying experience a breeze. Explained everything to us. He went above and beyond what was nessecary for a salesman. You think used car salesman should be sleazy, shady and only out to make a buck. They made sure that my husband's needs were met, and that the CUSTOMER was happy. We will be going back for my next vehicle. And I totally recommend this place. read more

This place sucks I test drove a truck and when I came back it had a bad leak I popped the hood and the power steering was completely empty and the fluid was everywhere under the truck and the front suspension was messed up I asked if they would fix it if I was interested in buying it the guy said yes he said he would call the mechanic so I left my number and he called me back and said my mechanic is busy but he will be available in a couple days you can still buy it tho and when he's available we will get you in lol he said you can still drive the truck like that it still runs after that never would I buy a vehicle from there and as for everyone I would hope you listen read more

Man, well the customer service here is pretty good, very kind individuals. But I feel the cars aren't the best. I got my car in 2018 so it took a lot out of me (it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review).. since I've got the vehicle I've had issues with it (minor issues) but it all ads up. My check engine light comes on about every 2 months, like I said small fixes but I've already had to put in at least 1500$ in fixes that I shouldn't have to deal with within the time period that I've had the vehicle. The first month I had the vehicle I took it in twice for trunk issues. Just be careful with what you purchase, ask a lot of questions and take a mechanic with you to check on the car you want. After about a year with the car I took it in to see if I can maybe trade it in for another vehicle I was interested in, they said they would work with me ( I went in twice), but they never got back to me.. I went back to see what the deal was but the vehicle was already sold, so that left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyway just be careful!! read more

Had told me to say again I purchased a car California Motors and Lodi and it had a bad water pump and timing chain it cost me $600 and I feel they should have been responsible for the expenses they could have had that as a write off but it broke me and I would not recommend that car lot to anybody 0 Stars bad experience read more
