Still an ok choice if shopping at Somerset. BBQ chicken salad was pretty good. I added shrimp and it was a pretty large portion but $30 is a very high price point for salad. They were running a promo where you can get a $5 pizza if you spend $25. I got a BBQ chicken pizza to go... it was underwhelming. Very dry and drenched in sweet BBQ sauce. Overall just ok. The bartender that served me however deserves five stars. She is awesome. read more

Everything was just average. For the food I ordered a fettuccine alfredo with chicken as well as Thai peanut salad. Well I see why the salad was so popular it wasn't enough to justify the $21 price point. The dressing was a bit overwhelming in my opinion although I did have a good mouth feel. The pasta was not too heavy but it wasn't amazing in any way and just an ordinary Alfredo white sauce with chicken in my opinion. The service was under par. The waiter made a very obvious when she had to do more work than was necessary such as bring us water and splitting the bill into two. When we asked if something was possible she's said something along the lines of "I can try" and immediately walked away giving us a bad taste in our mouths. The ambience was quite noisy. People in general seem to be enjoying their food. All different ages. Overall overpriced mediocre food with mediocre service in a very popular Mall in Troy. read more

I took a moment to stop at California Pizza Kitchen at the Somerset Collection after building up an appetite working on the leaves on the first snow day of the season. The warm sourdough bread and olive oil with Mediterranean spices and a cold Sam Adam's Winter White Ale was a nice start. I enjoyed the Thai Chicken Pizza, but truly wish CPK would bring the wheat dough back for this delicious pizza. It's still good, but it was previously better. KarLita provided efficient and pleasant service at the bar which is always a nice place to enjoy this restaurant. I like the vantage point sitting here as you can view some of the pizza's cooking in the oven. A nice stop especially if you're out holiday shopping. read more

We ordered the Neapolitan Burrata pizza, Chipotle pizza, Dynamite Shrimp, and the Butter Cake for dessert. The burrata pizza was light and fresh, the chipotle pizza had great smoky flavors with beans and corn, and the dynamite shrimp was crispy with a nice tangy kick. Haven't been to California pizza kitchen in awhile and I plan on going back! We ordered the avocado egg rolls for an appetizer and the margarita pizza for our main course. The prices were a bit high for the appetizer, however we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My only complaint is that there weren't too many tables in this restaurant, as this location is a bit small, however, we received great service and our food was out very promptly. read more

The location of it being in a mall is an advantage, a nice place to take a break from all the shopping ( window shopping) and walking around the mall. Located right inside the front entrance of Somerset Mall, the ambiance is pretty standard for a chain restaurant. They did have a couple Christmassy decorations up, but nothing major. The service was top notch! Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us often, refilling our drinks/water and bringing us whatever we needed. We did have an issue with our order in that the pizza was brought out with chicken even though we ordered without but she put in a new order and quickly brought us a new pizza. The food was fresh and delicious as usual. The Chipotle chicken and tostada pizzas were both great! We are so happy the tostada is back on the menu. This place is a family favorite for us. When I order at the Troy location there's always a problem. I moved back home in Jan from cali, gone 30+ yrs & cpk was my go to. I guess a restaurant is only as good as the chef(s). Once I picked up an order it was so black from using so much pepper it was just ridiculous. I ate it only bcuz I love pepper & spice. Stopped in for a mid-week lunch with a friend. It was nicely decorated, windowed, and not too crowded. Seated within 5 minutes, even without a reservation. Carlos was our kind, patient server. He offered water and drinks immediately. My first choice, The Cucumber Reviver was not available so i chose a Pacific Thyme mocktail: an essentially, flavorless, way too icy, and over-sparkling-watered beverage. Not recommended. While waiting for our Lunch Duo choices, Carlos offered fresh, warm, crusty sourdough bread with spiced olive oil. Excellent! My Lunch Duo choices were terrific too: Began with a steamy cup of Dakota Smashed Pea and Parley soup with carrots, onions, and savory herbs. Finished with a half bowl of fresh Thai Crunch Salad with cilantro, grilled chicken, peanuts and wonton pieces. Highly recommended options! All in all, CPK's food is reasonably priced and good. Was at the mall with the family and checked in with the host and hostess and they said a table is being cleared that we could use so I was happy since the mall was really busy on this Saturday night. The ambiance was nice and it was pretty clean although we did hear this weird alarm going off in the kitchen area a few times. Now let's get to the main attraction - the food! First of all the free bread and olive oil they start you off with is absolutely amazing. It's super crunchy on the outside and super soft and moist and chewy on the inside. This alone is enough for a visit. I got the Banh Mi Bowl since I'm a health nut and it was visually stunning with an array of colors because of the veg. However the taste could have been better. The dressing needed more sweetness and the salad needed more juice - maybe trying adding some tomatoes or something? Also it says it comes with sesame seed but I didn't see any. We also got pizzas since it's in the name right? It's what they're famous for right? Lol at least that's what my wife insisted. My boy got the mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza and wife got the California club pizza. Both were just ok. Again the dough stole the show! Or maybe I'm just a carb lover secretly and shamefully lol. First off, this restaurant is in one of the nicest shopping malls I've ever seen, so the location and set-up was very pleasant & welcoming. We enjoyed a salad--my Caesar was great--and pizza, and I have to say that the Sicilian was spectacular. What flavor! The pizzas are thin crust, so if that's not your thing, maybe you wouldn't appreciate it, but mine was so tasty. Fresh and perfectly prepared! Horrible customer service and mediocre food. The last two times we've visited this location we've had horrible service. Tonight we went in and ordered two chicken picattas with shrimp. My mom pointed out to the server that she had less shrimp than me and he brought the manager over, a short white dude, who clearly shouldn't be working in a customer facing role as he's extremely ignorant and rude. Manager says "that's enough shrimp. Don't want them? I'll eat em" This combined with the mediocre pasta that tastes like it's straight out of a bag and the sauce with no flavour have ensured I'll never be back to this location again. I've given them several visits and they just get worse and worse while raising prices. Avoid this and just eat somewhere else read more

Had to make a trip to the Apple store so my daughter and I had a lunch date. We enjoyed our food and conversation in a dimly light and soothing atmosphere. Everything that was placed on our table was fresh and flavorful. The drinks were refreshing and light. The breath was warm and soft. The Mexican Street Corn was bursting with unique flavors. The duo pizza gave us sweet and savory sensations at the same time. There was a party in our mouths from start to finish. We didn't have room for dessert. The server was as nice and friendly. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu and gave several great suggestions. We came here on Veterans Day for their Veterans Specials for dinner with friends; two of us are Veterans so we were ready to choose selections from their Specials Menu. Because it is located within Somerset Mall the parking was particularly challenging; we had to circle three floors several times before we found someone leaving. Our friends were already there and had just gotten a table so we walked in and just joined them. After we ordered drinks (Diet Coke with Lemon for me and my wife wanted to try Cucumber Revival) we studied the menus and I chose a Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage Pizza from the Veterans Day Menu and my wife picked a Half Order Roasted Vegetables Salad. Is was quite busy because it was Saturday night as well as Veterans Day but service was quick and and our orders came out very promptly. Drinks were kept full although we did have to ask for refills a couple times. The Pizza was very good and the crust had good chew as well as decent crunch and I knew I had made a good choice. My wife's Grilled Vegetable Salad was grilled and then chilled vegetables served on top of chopped lettuce and my wife loved it! Of course we had no room left for dessert so, maybe next time. I have given CPK three try's now and both have been fails. My biggest issue is the price of the food and what you get in return. The Spaghetti with Bolognese sauce is very good when they actully put sauce on it. Again today I order spaghetti and even request extra sauce. Please see the picture for what I recived. For $20 I recieved a container full of dry noodles with a handful of green onions ( odd) .It's disappointing espically because you get no bread , salad or soup with this . My friend ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was extremely greasy to where he could not eat his pizza and the grease was all over the plate. He tells the waiter it's way too greasy and she says it's always like that though. She says that as if it's normal for pizza to be like that and it is not. She did give him a refund for the pizza so it wasn't all bad. I had tomato soup and their seasonal strawberry watermelon salad. The soup was good and the salad was alright. I have to admit, I'm not much of a chain restaurant person, but The CPK at Somerset always smells so good while we're walking through the mall, that we decided to stop in for lunch one day over the summer. And it was surprisingly delicious. I mean pizza is pretty good, no matter what, but this was actually very good Neapolitan style pizza. Especially for around Detroit. They have a wood-burning oven, and whoever the cooks are, they know how to bake a pizza. We've eaten here several times over six months now, tried probably every pizza they have, and they really are all delicious. Even the plain sounding five cheese and tomato had a ton of flavor. And whatever their crust recipe is, they nailed it. Because every time it is perfectly chewy with great flavor. Pizza is an art, when it comes down to it, and I'm a self-confessed pizza snob. They make some really fine pizza here. And they have many unique toppings and combinations, you don't get bored. And the service we've had each time dining in, was also very good. Everyone is really nice at this location. They also do carry out, in case that's more your thing. And you can order and pay online, which is super easy and convenient. Also, this place is always busy, and now I understand why. But it also means the turnover rate is high, so the ingredients are always fresh; the salads, toppings etc. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how "mall pizza" has evolved. read more

Patricia (General Manager) & her staff is amazingly great. They literally all work hand and in hand with one another. The food was delicious as always. We have eaten here a few times however, today we sat the bar and as a restaurant manager to see the coworkers all working together was very nice to experience. The bar tender worked very efficiently which of course was our waitress as well. Even though she had tickets coming in we never once felt like we had compromised service. This place does not disappoint, but go early! I love their fresh salads with great flavor combinations. Their pizza isn't too bulky and when paired with a salad is a perfect shopping lunch! Again, great flavor fusions all over the menu! This menu is great for little ones also! They have a new shrimp and zucchini pasta that was a perfect balance of veggies and not too much pasta, great idea guys!!! The Buffalo cauliflower was delicious and I LOvED the shaved celery on top! So disappointed CPK! We ordered dinner for three to pick-up at your proposed time of 5:40. We pulled into the space for pick-up 5 mins early and called to let you know we were there. Fine. After 20 minutes, 15 mins after the bags were to be delivered, I went inside. It was empty in the dining room and quiet in the kitchen. I told them why I was there, and the gal at the counter said it'd just be a minute. As she started to assembled the order she said that they forgot to make one of the entrees, and that it would be a few minutes. I told her that wouldn't work because we had movie tickets. The gal at the counter said I should talk to the manager, which I did. The manager offered to sell us what was made, minus the entree that hadn't been made. Such an offer.
