Quick and easy recycling process!…read more My neighbor brought me here the first time I came. We both sorted our bottles & cans into the provided plastic garbage cans. This recycling center is a little hidden, but worth finding! It's located near the backside of the Planet Fitness Gym. You just keep driving past it and turn left (the only direction available). This second time I came by myself. Unstacking the plastic garbage cans is probably the most difficult thing to do! They create a vacuum and get stuck together. I got a few apart and began tossing in the sorted recyclables. I brought: *1 Kitchen bag of Aluminum Cans = $2.55 *3 Kitchen Bags of Plastic Bottles = $20.29 *15 Glass Bottles = $0.92 *1 Plastic Milk Bottle = $0.13 Two things I appreciate are: You don't need to separate glass bottles by color, AND you don't need to show your I.D. to receive your money. The only thing I wished they had was a hand washing station. It would be nice, but not a deal breaker. I use gloves to do keep my hands clean while working. Plus, I always carry Hand Sanitizer, so I'm doubly good! I noticed that the redemption prices have have fluctuated. Also, there are three new categories of which I'm not entirely sure what they are. Next time I have a good amount of recyclables, I'll bring them here again!

At its core, a very simple and reliable recycling service!…read more Aim to organize your glass bottles, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles/gallons prior to coming over so you're in and out. This place has its own sanitation station, but I highly recommend bringing your own gloves and hand sanitizer. Aluminum and plastic bottles go into the orange net baskets (but should be separated). Large plastic gallons should be placed on top of small/standard water bottles. Glass bottles go into the grey plastic bins. If you come right before they open at 9AM, you'll likely run into 1-2 parties trying to be in and out of there as well. I always run into families here, but the community as a whole is pretty good about not hogging containers/baskets.

I tried to…read moreleave this review via my phone and yelp glitched out and the review didn't post, but instead of taking it as a sign to not bother, fired up my laptop to tell you to beware this place. When the former punk rock listening guy (who has the dog) was there, I had no problems. I would usually get at least $8- $12+ for my bi-monthly collection of aluminum cans, glass, and plastic water bottles. The last time I went to this location, the punk rock guy was gone and there were three new guys there and I only got less than $5. I went back today at 3pm hoping that maybe the dog owning guy was back but I think he's gone. The three guys were there. There were several orange-fence bins full of drinking water bottles in front of the pay-out stand as if they had been abandoned by other angry customers. The employees were arguing with the person in front of me because the customer wasn't able to see the screen for the scale and so there was no way for the customer to verify the weight. They watched me take two full over-sized garbage bags out of my trunk and pour each of them into a fence-bin. Then as soon as they finished with the customer in front of me, said they needed to close for about an hour and were done paying out "for now". It was already 3pm and the place closes at 4 anyways. I said I was leaving and they responded rudely "okay bye" but yelled at me when I took the two bins of *my* recycling back towards my car, so I could just dump everything into my trunk to re-sort at home later for another place (as they had watched me empty and discard my original trash bags, I think they were expecting me to just leave the CRV recycling in their bins). As I was dumping the bins directly into my trunk, they told another customer [I'm] "always crazy like that." Wow. This is only the second time I've interacted with them, and though I suspect I was not paid fairly the first time, I never said anything to them about that. Way to disrespect me in front of my community members. I would rather just give my "CRV money" to the city of Torrance by putting my cans and bottles directly in the curb-pick up bin then deal with the current people who work there.

Everyone is hustling and bustling. Grab a few bins to separate your recycles, bring it over to the friendly employees, they get weighed, you get paid. There's only so much microplastic our bodies can store so what to do with the macro portion left over? Sure, I could just dump it in my blue recycling cans, save time, effort, and have people digging through my recycling, dumping the rest of the contents on the street or let the city cash in my hard earned CRV. Nah. The city already takes more than their fair share of my income. The workers at Venture are always friendly and helpful. There is adequate parking and never a shortage of bins to roll over to the scales. The lot is set up so traffic goes one way, making entering and exiting efficient. It is rather grungy but it's a recycling center. I've never seen one that could pass a white glove inspection. Just wear a pair of rubber/vinyl gloves so you don't get gunk on your hands and you'll be fine. There are closer recycling centers closer to home but the guys at Venture make an inconvenient chore into a more pleasant experience.
