This is a fairly large facilitiy. Many people go there with pickup trucks filled way over the top. That's what I do. You sort your own cans and bottles, plastic, glass and aluminum into handy bins which they provide. Once everything is sorted, you proceed to the scales and it goes pretty quickly. You need ID and they pay cash. I've been going there for many years and never had any trouble. The working staff is friendly, but mostly they leave you alone to do your unloading and sorting, which is great. read more

After they closed the recycling center in Gardena near Home Depot, I'm glad I found Venture. When you shop at Costco and Sam's Club, it's amazing how fast the piles of plastic bottles and aluminum cans piles up. There's only so much microplastic our bodies can store so what to do with the macro portion left over? Sure, I could just dump it in my blue recycling cans, save time, effort, and have people digging through my recycling, dumping the rest of the contents on the street or let the city cash in my hard earned CRV. Nah. The city already takes more than their fair share of my income. The workers at Venture are always friendly and helpful. There is adequate parking and never a shortage of bins to roll over to the scales. The lot is set up so traffic goes one way, making entering and exiting efficient. It is rather grungy but it's a recycling center. I've never seen one that could pass a white glove inspection. Just wear a pair of rubber/vinyl gloves so you don't get gunk on your hands and you'll be fine. There are closer recycling centers closer to home but the guys at Venture make an inconvenient chore into a more pleasant experience. read more

First time going here and was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of parking, not terribly busy. Employees explained how everything worked. I grabbed two bins, one for clear plastic the other for cans. Loaded them up. Weighing them took maybe 5 seconds. Got paid and left. I had about 8 trash bags full of recyclables and the entire process took a couple of minutes at most. After the recycling center I used to go to closed up, I hadn't taken any recyclables anywhere until I found this place. It was almost a blessing in disguise because this place is pretty nice! What I really appreciate the most is the "Cleaning Station", a sink with soap to wash up & paper towels, after turning in the yucky recyclables. Make sure you enter from Petroleum Ave. and follow the sign to the exit. It's set up to be a one way pass through the recycling center. I sort my aluminum, plastic, and glass (by color) at home. When I get to the recycling center, I just grab the large baskets, one for each type of item and dump my bags. Super easy! The guys at the center are helpful! I was trying to roll my baskets to the counter and a guy came to my rescue! He actually rolled both in for me and I just followed. I presented my ID and was handed a receipt and money! Yay!! Their rates are really great, too! On this last trip, I had only 2 baskets of just plastic and got paid $29.46! I don't have much to recycle these days, but when I do, I will come back here! read more

I do not go out of my way to collect recyclables. I am not a member of a service organization that generates a lot of containers that can be recycled. But as long as the state of California is going to require me to pay a deposit (CRV) when I purchase beverages--I want my money back. I have tried a number of recycling centers through the years, but I have settled on Venture Recycling Group and have been taking my containers here for processing for the past five years or so. Unlike some places, Venture has reliable hours of operation. The compound is relatively safe. And they are well organized; I have never had to wait too long. The place is friendly for both casual residential customers (like me) and individuals bringing in large volumes of recyclables. And I have found that the employees here are more pleasant to work with than a lot of other places. read more

This place used to be a good place to sell your recyclables I remember coming here as a kid with my parents and I wanted to come back here and sell some bottles of my own and when I went to go get my money I checked my receipt and they deduct so much money from what you should've gotten which I should've had at least $40 or more but ended up getting only $18!!!!! So please do not come here again if you wanna be cheated and scammed and lose money this place used to be a well rounded place but not anymore. read more

Been recycling my cans and bottles there for years. Located in Harbor City. Went there as usual - Counter man said that I was 'cheating him'. I did not 'cheat' on him and wonder how he came to that conclusion. Their sister branch in Gardena (*crrryyy!!!*) has shut down permanently - and I learned this as I drove by with a truck load worth of recyclables, so I pulled over at Home Depot and Yelp, as always, was to the rescue. That's where I learned they had more than one location, so I picked the one closest to where I was and was directed here. They only have one entry and exit ways and we were met with cars waiting at the street to enter. They are busy for a mid-week afternoon run, but as chaotic as it seemed, my experience ran pretty smoothly. Staff will guide you in and out of a parking spot. There were plenty of bins for plastic, aluminum and glass available. They have two weighing scales and cashier spots, so I'm assuming they are ready should a crowd decide to surge through. Staff was also friendly. Inquired why the Gardena spot closed and was told, "Our lease was up and the property owners may be more interested in building apartments." Boooo... But I don't mind the extra drive. Definitely coming back for my household's next recycling run. read more

Total ripoff. I filled up 1 1/2 of the provided bins of crushed aluminum cans and the total weight was only 22 pounds. I weighed a 2 of the 5 bags before I got there and that weight was approx 18 pounds. I figured there was no way I was going to win an argument with them about the weight so I just took what they calculated, but will never go back again. This is my go-place. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, they've been really in compliance. I find that some of the workers will help me with moving my items forward to get the line moving. The man who always checks people out is extremely friendly, and I swear, a perk is the $2 that's they give with the redemption of your recyclables. One downfall are the bees that tend to beat here but that's not their fault. They've done their best to get rid of them. read more

So if you need some cash recycle instead of littering it (helps out our Mother Earth) I've also noticed people polluting beaches and the oceans... First off, to the helper who worked Wednesday, September 6, 2023, around 11 AM - THANK YOU!! I don't know if this was the first time seeing him because he is new or if it's because I came in the morning rather than my usual time of later in the afternoon. We've become quite accustomed to the, "every person for themselves," vibe that we have get everytime we come here. So, I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was completely blown away by this guy's work ethic. (Hispanic, middle-aged, thin build, super friendly, works fast with a great attitude and always smiling). He actually paid attention, and helps people whenever he sees a need arise, rather than wait for them to ask for help, which makes things run smoothly, keeps the line moving and prevents the lot from becoming full and keeps traffic from building up. While On a side note, completely unrelated to the worker mentioned above, and solely and directly related to the owner(s) of this recycling center, and those responsible for how it operates - I can't shake the sinking feeling that I am getting totally ripped off; something isn't "right," and feels, "off." They are so methodical in how the guy behind the counter is so willing to strike up a conversation with you when neither of you can hear what the other is saying, (he can barely hear his co-worker standing only a few feet from him, who is shouting at the top of his lungs), and how the guy who puts the baskets on the scale does so at such a high rate of speed, that you can't even see for yourself what the weight is. One large black trash bag plus about 6 to 8 13 gallon trash bags of plastic, a 13 gallon trash bag of brown glass beer and wine bottles, about half a 13 gallon trash bag of green glass wine bottles, a 32 gallon trash can filled to the top with crushed aluminum cans, and a few clear glass bottles only came out to $40!! I bring about the same amount of glass and plastics but get a different amount each time. For now, I can only say that I am going off of a gut feeling. However, in the future, I will be sure to weigh all of my recyclables beforehand, and pay close attention when they get weighed. The thing about $2 bills at this location is true. We (my husband and I) were happy with the service here. We never been to this location, they gave us the run down on how to do things. We sorted out our recycle and got in the line. My daughter and I found this place driving by. There is tons of parking which is a plus. The baskets are mesh and big. the rules are spelled out what they expect of you. There was around 5 men there all with a job to do which keeps the place running and very fast and they all do it with a smile. very polite. We will definitely be using this place as our new place to go for recycling. love it read more

Well... It's a recycling center so if you've ever been to one, they're not the most sanitary of facilities you'll happen upon. But what separates this one from most, especially those in Wilmas, (hey... I've got nothin' gainst Wilmas... I FUC'n work there), is that this place is fast and efficient, with plenty of onsite parking. No carrying all your recycled Arrowhead plastic water bottles and smashed up Rolling Rock aluminum cans from here to kingdom come. No crackheads / meth-heads recycling the copper pipe they just ripped out from the neighborhood "for sale" house up in this beeyatch!!! No, no, no... No shopping carts to avoid on the way in either. Prices for aluminum / plastic here may be just a tad bit lower than the aforementioned Anaheim Street / PCH / Alameda Avenue establishments, but... (And it's a big but), you don't have to deal with the stench, the crackheads and lack of parking. It's kind of like a drive by for recycling... Tap that $hit and get the FUC out!!! read more

YEAH! I AM BEING ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS! Plus, I am getting some of that CRV I keep paying at the stores back to boot! I have been going here for about a year and a half now. Found it by accident... well drove by it all the time. One day, the store recycling place was closed for whatever reason - seeing it was in the middle of the day, and I came here. I have been coming back every since!!! Why do I give this place 4 stars? They pay about .25/lb more for aluminum that the store places. Lots of parking spots inside (Cuz on any given day this place gets busy). They have lots of cans, barrels, etc to put all your sorted recycling in. You get your money at the scale - you don't get some stupid slip, and have to go into the store, wait in a line, then sign crap to get your money (Hence faster). IF it has a CRV, you can take it and get money for it. They also take copper - tho, I have not had any to take.. hahahaa.... Open til 5pm during the day. You drive right in, drive right out - Not bad at all! (Plus, you have cash in hand) This stuff adds up - I typically get 45 - 85 dollars every time I go. Depending how lazy I am, and how long I let it pile up. read more
