Business Owner, then he hook up my 2022 Kia Soul LX to Smog Machine and he told me there was a code on his obd2 scanner, and Timy told me the only one options I've got to Pass Smog was to pay him $280.00 Cash and I told Timy that I don't carry that kind of money in my pocket? And Timy asked me do you have any money in your Bank, then I said yes and then I told him sure I can go to the Bank and get that $280.00 Cash for you okay Timy, No Problems. I went to the Bank and I Withdraw $300.00 from the bank so I can pay him that $280.00 Cash on the day of September 14, 2022 I came back to his California Smog Check Center, He told me that $280.00 you pay me and you don't have to worry about the Smog at list for another 4, years. I came to see Tim, who runs a one-man smog shop, right off Palmdale Boulevard. It's a tiny 'hole in the wall sort of place' that's located on the back end of a dirt lot, but this place is a hidden gem. My mother and I needed to get her Nissan Altima a smog check this afternoon and Tim answered the phone, and said he could see us right away. When we went over there, he greeted us with a big smile and friendly service. It was my first time meeting him and I felt like we had known each other for a long time. It just so happens that my mom was thinking about selling her car anyway and we were lucky enough to meet Tim this afternoon: He happened to have a buyer for the car, who showed up within the hour, and bam! A deal was made! We got a good deal on the car and it was quite an emotional experience. My father just passed away of cancer in April and this car was a gift he had purchased for my mother about 15 years ago. The next thing I knew, my mom was crying, I was crying and so was Tim! Went here by accident because we turned too early going to the smog place next door. We had a coupon for $30 smog next door. When my husband gave him the coupon he said "this isn't for us but I will take care of you" and took the coupon and placed it on his clipboard... then, AFTER the smog we were told it would be $50, giving us a discount of just $10. My husband said fine because he doesn't pay attention to that kind of stuff anyway. The guy told us "the more you bring your cars here, the more discount you get". The next day after the payment processed we were charged the full $60. I could have gotten both of my cars smogged next door for the price of one at this shop. 800 miles later, this company is NOT Female Friendly! Or maybe Tim tries to rip off people regardless of their gender. Either way, do not use this place. I'm angrier than a cow living on artificial turf! Tim is a super nice guy, however, he is either incompetent or unethical. I spent a month trying to get my 18 year old car to pass its smog test. My car did not pass because it had 3 monitors not ready. Tim said to just drive it and that the monitors would reset. He was so nice!! He was friendly. He was really patient. Such a good guy. So I drive my car. I drive 100 miles, it cleared 2 monitors, but not the last one. I ask him if it can be tested with just the one not cleared, because a friend said it could be. Tim says, "No, it can't because we already ran a test." He tells me to just drive it and come back, it's no problem. Guess what Tim, it is a problem. It's a problem that you have me driving around when gas is $6.89 a gallon, wasting my time, and wear and tear on my car when in fact you CAN run a smog check on a car with the evaporative monitor not ready. I have been bringing my vehicles here for several years now when I get a DMV smog check notice. Tim is a wonderful man to deal with. He's friendly, cordial and always has a smile. We recently had to take our two year old diesel motorhome in for a smog inspection to re-register our rig. These diesel rigs are temperamental when it comes to all the emissions garbage/onboard smog computers that manufactures are required to put on them. We failed the first test because one of the sensors wouldn't show ready. Tim recommended driving it more, and said that this was a common issue. In my 50 years of driving and subsequent smog checks I never had a gasoline vehicle not pass. We drove it several hundred miles at different speeds as recommended, and took it to the Mercedes Sprinter shop and they said the same thing. We drove it a couple of hundred miles more and the sensor still wouldn't reset, so we drove it several hundred more miles. It still wouldn't pass smog so Mercedes reset the computer and said to drive it some more..... One cycle which is a couple of hundred miles, let it sit overnight to cool and repeat two more times. Over the next three weeks time we took our rig back to Tim three times to re-check it, and he was always happy to do it with a smile and was so nice about it, and he didn't charge us. After 1,200 miles and more cycles, we took it back to Tim to be checked again, and this time it passed smog with all the sensors working. Even when I was at my wits end, Tim was very helpful and friendly and encouraging which gave us hope that it would pass.
