I have been to this place a couple of times it's not to bad. They do their best to get you in and out. I hear they are not the best at driving stick shift. I have only taken my automatic there. They have a pretty good place to replace while you wait. They have cable tv, hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. Oh and little snacks. Try to get there when it opens, because the fill up fast. Now their web site says, if you don't pass they will help you figure out what is wrong. Well they really don't. They will say, go have it fixed and come back. They do give you a second chance to pass it. They also let you loan a OBD if you have none readable codes. This is refunded when you bring it back. Two things I recommend before going. Do not unplug you battery, if you have a car that has many electronic components. If you do this, and you don't allow drive time. Their system will not be able to read all your codes. Second, if you have issues with your Cat. Such as P0420. Cat Cleaner from auto store will probably fix it. Do that a week before you smog if you can One con, is that is a little pricey. Really simple and fast service was out quick only problem is if you have a manual car don't make the mistake of letting them drive it. They don't know how to drive stick or haven't in a long time and stalled out and grounded the gears so loud I heard it from inside. I was at the Chula Vista DMV when I was advised that I needed a smog check in order to register my out of state car in CA. Turns out even if your car is newer, & technically age wise exempt from a smog, it's still needed if coming from out of state. Cash grab in my opinion, but whatever. This company was across the street, I called, they said there was no wait & it was $68 to get the check done. First smog I did not pass because my check engine light was on for a code, there were no additional problems. Went back and did not pass. My fault. Third time I went back and I was told that my car did not pass smog even though I have no check engine lights on. They charge me full price for the first one, $10 for the second one, full price for the third one. After that they offered a OBDII scanner to check the car for codes that I had to pay $40 for to check out and would be refunded when I returned it. I would not have had to go back so many times now if they would have offered that to me the first time I failed. Now I have to drive around and wait til the car does a drive cycle. Once the computer registers it's good then it will be ready to pass smog at no additional cost. My problem is that they should have offered me this little device instead of offering for me to come back at additional charges. Poor communication from them. I didn't even know that existed. My smog check bill is currently $110 and who knows by the end of all this. This is the reason I bought a secondary Tesla. Because of rip off companies like this. read more

This review is directed to John Devin, Corp. President. I recently visited your Broadway shop and had an extremely bad encounter with one of your (female) employee. She was extremely rude and obnoxious, with me, in front of other clients. I'm a long-time customer, as I own 5 vehicles. I have never been spoke too in such a rude manner. When I left the shop, I decided to call and voice my complaint to the store manager. The person that answered the phone was the same employee and claimed to be the manager. I told her that I wanted to file a complaint with her boss/owner of business, she said she was in charge of the Broadway shop and if I wasn't happy with the service I could go somewhere else for my next inspection. I informed her; that, because she was not the owner of the business, she could not make that type of decision. The next day I went online to find the owner and discovered that there were two business. I called the 3rd St. business and was told I could come to the shop and file a complaint. I hand delivered my written complaint and dropped it off at the 3rd St. shop. As of this writing I have not heard back. I left my name and number for a call back. read more

Thankfully, this smog check location is within a mile from our house so to say they're convenient is an understatement. To give a little background, we take all four of our family vehicles here (ranging from a 2002-2015, all Japanese or Korean import vehicles). The staff has always been pleasant to deal with, efficient, and reasonable. Their customer waiting room appears to have been remodeled lately and is quite comfortable and clean. They have also put up plastic dividers protecting their staff and customers to comply with COVID-19 safety measures directed by the state & county. We've never had to wait more than 30 minutes for our vehicle to get smog checked. They also take AMEX cards, which many merchants don't accept. We'll continue to take our vehicles here since we've always been pleased by the customer service we've received. read more

I was quoted over the phone $68 and told there wasn't currently a wait so headed over since I was 10 minutes away. Upon arrival, the girl I spoke to over the phone helped me right away and gave me a $10 discount. There was a little bit of a wait after all but nothing ridiculous. !*!*!*!DO NOT GO HERE!*!*!*! This the shop that double charged me for a smog inspection when it could've been avoided in less than 90 seconds. I had a computer code issue with my engine and I fixed that after the first smog inspection, and then after the second Time coming to get my smog inspection done, instead of hooking up the computer first and verifying that there were no other codes, they just went straight to the smog machine in order to charge me the extra amount for a retest fee! Then after passing smog, they fail my entire smog test because there were other computer codes. Then on top of that they wanted to charge me another $10 to print out a piece of paper that was already in their system because I did not bring it with me! Then the third time, I returned the rental car-computer once all the codes were cleared and they charge me another $10 to return it because I did not have the paper that was already in their system. This is the last straw and a highly recommend that this business not be used because of their bad business practices! I was they client for 5 years, but after the new management or new greedy procedures came in, I no longer can recommend them. Their customer service has usually been fabulous, although I remember a few times in the past were not so great. It was not enough to make me not come back. This place is a great place to get your smog certified when the time comes to renew your car registration. Been here twice, on the recommendation of my dad, and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. The smog test cost about $49 plus the smog certificate, which is another $8 after you pass. Very quick, and professional. They knew right away I was in for a smog test based off the paperwork from the DMV in my hand...didn't even have to explain why I was there. They electronically send your smog certificate to the DMV after you pass as well...so you don't even have to do a thing except pay them afterward. The DMV is across the street to the place as well...so if you have any appointment there you can walk over. read more

I called CAP repair and they immediately called the business spoke to Arturo.the CAP then called me and said to go pick up my $500 voucher from this disrespectful business. I called Arturo and told him I was sending my boyfriend over to pick up the voucher because I was working and could not pick up the voucher. He said no you have to pick it up yourself.... I was extremely mad because on Saturday when I had the service done they told me that my boyfriend could go and pick it up. Soo yes they lied to me and half of the time don't even know what the hell they r talking about!!! Ok soo I go on my lunch break to pick up the voucher and Arturo is there and says to me " oh I'm sorry I was not here on Saturday I wasn't here because I was at a party...." Ok what do I care if you are at a party!! Soo stupid!!!! I did not want to even talk to anybody there anymore!!! I was over this business!!! Soo in conclusion this business basically said this to me" if you want you're car to pass smog all you pay is $75 to us and we can make your car pass for 2 years... Ok soo they will cash out the $500 voucher and charge me $75 to make the car pass but my car will never be fixed!!!!!!!! This business is fraud!!! This review is for the Repair Shop associated with this smog check station. They're located down the street from the main station at 101 N Glover. The car had failed the smog test taken at a different place and we knew that the car needed repairs in order to pass. From our initial phone call for information to our final passed smog test, Adam was an awesome guide throughout the process. He patiently and cheerfully answered every question about the repairs and how the smog test worked with the OBDII. He made sure that we got the best price possible on the repairs, and cut us a break on the test. The place has a clean comfortable waiting room with a big screen TV (and remote!), fresh coffee, and current magazines. They even gave us a ride home when it was determined that the car would have to be left overnight. Adam and his crew made an anxious situation far less stressful for us and we highly recommend their repair shop and services! read more

These guys are "licensed" crooks! They ran a smog test on my truck even though I informed them that I had just had work done and the computer was reset! Later I found out that my truck "failed" because the truck's computer did not have "any" information in it. Helllllllloooooooo, weren't you listening or is it that it's not in your best interest to "take care of your customers!" My truck passed (barely) but failed because of the "empty" computer info. They charged me $60 and then gave me a long story about being careful where I take my truck for "repairs". "It has to be a SMOG-CERTIFIED repair shop!" CONFLICT OF INTEREST! Your truck didn't pass but we can fix it??? See you in court! Bunch of jerks! I took it somewhere else and that person made sure that my computer had enough info in the computer 1st! He also warmed up my engine so that the Catalytic Converter gave a "true" reading. Bottom Line is: I'm taking these jerks to Small Claims for return of my $60. DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP! read more
