If you are more than 30 days late they charge you additional $200 for "auction fees" that's before the. legal 60 day auction lien fee when your payment is legally in default not to mention they increase at their discretion an additional 40% and charge you for an additional protection fee . In my many years of working with Westchester Self Storage, they have always answered my question/emails, and pay attention to the little details. Like for example. I rented a van today and Miguel made sure I got the one that was closest to my locker. So nice that he thinks of little things like this but it's not such a "little thing" when something like this prevents having to carry heavy boxes an extra few feet! This facility is new and reasonably clean, but poorly managed. I'd been a customer for nearly 1.5…read moreyears when I got a letter raising my unit rent 180%, from $44 to $123. Rate increases happen, but this was steep for a single month. The notice was dated 5/27/26, but I didn't receive it until 6/13/26, leaving me less than a month's notice. I called that day and spoke with a rep (you can never reach anyone at the actual location) who agreed the increase was excessive and said she'd request a callback. No one followed up. I called again on 6/26/26. They'd requested a "meet in the middle" rate, still too high in my opinion, and promised a response by the next day or the following Monday. It's now 7/1/26 and I still haven't heard anything. Also worth noting: during the 6/26 call, the rep told me the new customer rate for my same unit is $55. Less than half what I'm being asked to pay as a loyal customer. That's what lost me. I'll be moving my things elsewhere. It's a hassle, but worth it to not deal with this kind of treatment. I'd advise against renting here if you value your time and money.

Finally in the building and the elevators to the second floor are broken, and all the stairwells are locked so I couldn't even access the unit I paid twice for now.
