this is revised after they come back to install the missing screen door Just a feedback: The job started smoothly and the team did it really quick. When they replace new window and patio, they broke all the old one. My family member have told me that their contractor did not do that. I'm not sure if this is necessary or it make the job faster. For sure they did the clean up, but we spent extra time to swept every corner to clear up glass shards left behind. Also, when replacing glass windows, you need to be at home, pay attention to safety, and watch all the details; otherwise, it will take e while to contact them afterward. read more

Just replaced 4 bedroom windows, 1 bathroom window and two patio sliding doors on my 40 years old condo. The whole process from quoting to finish installing took about 6 weeks, not counting the week I waited for my HOA to approved the job. Communication was great. The crew that did the install was efficient and cleaned up the place really nice afterwards. They showed up at 8:20 AM and finished before 2:00PM. This is the first time I've ever written a review for any service or product, but I had to comment about my positive experience with California Window Masters. I emailed three window companies about replacements for my very old windows. Justyna from California Window Masters responded the same day. Since I was contacting several companies, I asked Justyna if all correspondence could be via email so I could organize separate files for each quote. She was more than happy to do so. I sent her the measurements for 15 windows and Jacek respond with three very reasonable quotes within the week. I realized I didn't specify the type of windows I preferred, so I inquired what the cost difference would be if I changed all window type to double hung with three windows having textured glass. Jacek had no problem sending me new quotes. I had several (and I mean several!) questions about the brands, warranties and installation and Jacek patiently answered each of my question. I decided to add a glass French door to the quotes and Jacek reworked the quotes to include the door. When I finally received the quotes from the other companies, I chose California Window Masters because they had the best prices for quality window brands. Once contracted, Radek came out to do the final measurements. He arrived on time, was professional, meticulous with each measurement, and also answered several questions. Four weeks later, Ernesto, Armando, Roberto and Fernando arrived on schedule to install the windows. They were professional, friendly, fast and efficient, and did great work. They did all windows in approximately four hours, including clean up! Due to manufacturers delivery date, Ernesto and Roberto returned to install my door at a later date. Again, they were on time, professional, very cordial and efficient. It took them approximately 1.5 hours to install to new door. I've waited to leave this review to see the outcome of the manufacturer warranty. I met with Jacek before my house closed escrow in December 2023 or January 2024 because I knew the first thing that needed to be done was to upgrade the windows (and there were a lot) that were original to my 1990 home. He was one of six quotes I received. What I liked about him: He didn't come across too "salesy." He didn't employ gimmicks like some of the other salespeople. He didn't try to sell me on unnecessary upgrades. He was in and out and provided the estimates the same day. He gave me the impression that he had a ton of experience and that employing sales tactics was simply not something he needed to do. He's straightforward. I appreciated that. His quote was on par with one other company, while the others were significantly higher. I received several estimates from him as I was weighing the option of white-framed windows versus black-framed windows. I was also considering whether I wanted to go with Milgard or Simonton. The black-framed windows were double the cost of the white-framed for both manufacturers. I, ultimately, decided to go with the black-framed Simonton because the frames were slimmer, and I knew they would look great with my interior white walls. Installers arrived on the exact dates that Jacek provided. We had a bit of a situation with the French doors being installed far too high off the ground which created a tripping hazard. After a bit of an escalation to Jacek and his son, the installers eventually fixed this issue, and it was ultimately resolved. The windows, however, were a disappointment, to say the least. Many of the single hung windows were installed with cosmetic defects. What I received: Windows with chipped corners. Windows where the coating wasn't evenly applied and revealed the white window underneath. If you're like me and expect your brand-new, black-framed windows to arrive in pristine condition, do not buy Simonton. I paid almost double the amount of what it would cost for white-framed windows to have the aesthetic of the black-framed windows in my new home. Once the windows were installed, I noticed blemish after blemish. There is no QA process prior to install. See pictures. I raised this to Jacek at which point he quickly opened a case and passed me onto Simonton. 5 months later, the technician arrives, runs his finger along where one of the issues is, continues to chip more of the black coating off (essentially making it worse) and then tells me there is nothing that can be done. He tells me this is the quality of the windows that Simonton produces, and if he orders a replacement, it will arrive in the same condition or worse. So, if you spend tens of thousands of dollars on black-framed windows, do not buy Simonton. I would almost recommend going with the white windows or, if you buy the black-framed windows, consider spending more for a quality brand. 1 star for ease of doing business before install 1 star for adhering to the install timeline that was agreed upon 1 star for being willing to correct the install of the French doors 0 stars for installing cosmetically defective windows 0 stars for recommending a manufacturer that does not care about the quality of their product read more

They did such a great job on my one rental in San Lorenzo, that we hired them again for another rental and will continue to recommend to friends and family. Went out for 3 other quotes and CWM came in cheaper by a significant amount. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical but the reviews pushed me over the edge. Got connected to Radek, he came out, gave me the sales spiel, and had quotes the same day. Went with Milgard Trinsic based on Radek's recommendation. Once the contract was signed, Radek came out to do a full measurement. He was always prompt, communicative, and efficient. One of the windows was too large and only supported in the more expensive Tuscany trim. CWM honored the original contract price (so basically got a Tuscany window for the lower price!) Once new windows were in a crew of 2 came and knocked out 8 windows in about 5 hours. The entire process took about 7 weeks. I highly recommend CWM. Estimate: Jecek showed up about an hour before the scheduled time, which was no big deal since we were already home. He did a quick walk through from the outside of the house and took a couple of measurements. He's very knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions. We discussed window sliding directions during this time. He provided a quote to us within 24 hours and followed up with us to see if we had any questions. California Window Masters was the lowest quote we received. Quote/ Final measurements: Once we signed the contract, someone was sent out to complete final measurements of our windows prior to ordering. We had an appointment at 9:00AM , but he showed up at 7:30AM. That was a little rough since we were still asleep. He came inside to complete his final measurements. I wanted to confirm window sliding directions were consistent with what we discussed in the quote, but we ended up going over sliding directions again. Lead Time: 3 Weeks to get the windows. Communication Prior to installation: I wasn't very impressed with communication at this point in time. We were able to schedule an installation date, but I didn't feel like we were getting all our questions answered. Some questions we had to email a couple of times before getting a response. Other questions we continued to ask without getting any response. For example, since we weren't confident about the sliding directions, we asked for final layout or confirmation of what direction each window was going to slide open. Jacek didn't ever provide us a response for this or let us know that's not something they do. We emailed this question to him in several of emails. Installation: One of the three didn't have a mask on for most of the time he was working in the house. I was slightly concerned since COVID hasn't really been contained. A crew of 3 came to complete the installation. They completed the entire installation in about 5 hours. All the windows went in the direction we wanted them to be installed! This was much faster than I expected. Note, for this type of installation, installers don't put on booties over their shoes, so we lined the carpet with coverings. They do line the floors near the window with tarp. Since are windows were older, they chiseled and hammered the glass during demolition to remove the older windows. After installation of the windows, they sprayed down the windows and did a quick vacuum. They removed the glass and old window screens. We tipped them well since they finished the work quickly. Cleanup: After the crew left, we vacuumed the entire house 3 times, swept, swifered twice, and mopped. We found glass shards on everything. Over the next couple of weeks we continued to find a couple more pieces inside the house and some larger shards outside the house. There were also some areas where the spray foam was on the walls. Damage: We found a small chip in our bath tub, and on our floor. This wasn't a big deal since they were small and our finishes aren't new. We also found a puncture in our hose in the front yard. End Product: The end product was nice, but to this day not all the windows can lock without excessive force. We reached out to Jacek about this, but this now becomes a manufacturer warranty issue. read more

But for more than two months Jacek has failed to return and finish the job. On the day of the installation they showed up with screens missing and then during installation of a large kitchen window there were issues. They broke trim as well as left large gaps surrounding the window that were not sealed. He wanted to charge me $500 to come back and "fix" damage they created.
