Not sure on the quality yet. We noticed some of redwood and pressure treated lumber showed some cracks and end splits. We will need to inspect them closer after we unpack the bundles and take photos if needed to damages pieces. read more

Unfortunately, the installation had problems. Installed obscure glass in a bedroom window that was ordered to be the normal clear glass. We waited 3 weeks for the replacement window. They promised it would be a quick switch. One hour after the appointment and no one showing up, we called the company's office and left a voicemail. Since the sales rep was on vacation, there was no communication between the installers to reach me and say whether they were coming or not. After they installed the new window, I noticed my security sensors were on the wrong side and it became apparent immediately that the window opened on the wrong side. And I had made a point to take a photo with my phone camera and show the installer where they should be placed. Could the installers not realize they were on the opposite side? I had to point it out. They then switched out the glass from the previous obscure glass window, but the caulking was messy as they were rushing because they had another customer waiting. They did re-do the caulking. So stressful and time-consuming. In addition, the sales rep said that putting the crank windows in the between would take up a small amount more room on the edges. I lost 1/2 of the width of the window, as the frame on each side was almost 5 inches. The width of my window is now only 8 inches wide with this extremely wide frame. Given that these are the only 2 windows that get the sun in the morning, it's a huge loss and makes me very sad as my bedroom is now darker. The sales rep said I probably can get used to it. While a good part of the work was done right and Simonton as a manufacturer makes good windows, the problems and the communication left me wishing I had chosen a different company. read more

This review is way overdue. I had ordered the Simonton Impressions 7300 windows for my home in the Queen Ann pattern. The windows were installed in a day and look nice. I am very particular about getting the correct measurements and communicating them to the vendor. An employee came to measure my windows and write up the contract. I followed him into each room to make sure the measurements were the same as what I had written down.I thought that he was confirming my measurements were correct. But his measuring tape didn't extend all the way to the end of the window in the master bedroom. I told him what MY measurement was and he acknowledged it so I thought our measurements would be the same. On installation day, the two guys who were installing the master bedroom window had problems with it because the fit was not correct. They spoke in Spanish to each other so I don't know what was said. I asked what the problem was and the older guy said "Everything is okay", but they called the office and spoke to someone. I could see the window was a bit short on the one side. Long story short is they used wood shims to make the window fit and left. I even supplied them with my own wood shims so that they could finish the installation. The windows looked very nice. I live in a neighborhood where planes fly overhead and the master bedroom window rattle every time the planes fly over my home. The rattle when it's very windy also. I didn't have this issue with the old windows. Michaels Construction windows are very nice, but the guy who came to measure made a mistake for the MB window. It's something I have lived with for years. Make very sure that the window measurements are correct and have them double check. I'm very disappointed the guy didn't measure the window correctly or check them against my measurements. I recommended the company to a neighbor, but gave them same caveat and they decided to go with someone else. read more

Michael's just came out and installed new Simonton windows in our 60 year old house and it couldn't have gone better. They replaced 20 windows in just a few days. The price was a low as you can go and the installers were friendly, on time and fast workers. They took time to explain the process and clean up after themselves at the end of each day. They went over the amazing warranty several times to make sure we knew what to do in case there was anything we saw that we didn't like and really made us feel at ease. I needed double pain windows for my rental so I sent out a request for a quote with 3 contractors. Michael's Construction was NOT the lowest bid, however they offered the best product for the money and a lifetime warranty on the windows and screens. They have already replace a couple of sliding doors and 4 windows at my rental and did a great job. They worked with my schedule to insure things were done on time for the new tenants and they not only finished early, they took all the stickers off the windows and then washed them and vacuumed inside. They accept credit cards, however they will charge you 3% more to cover their cost. I can understand that, but I don't like it. read more

I own an apartment complex in San Carlos and had over 100 windows and sliding glass doors that needed to be replaced with retrofit windows. I got multiple bids and decided to work with Michael's Construction. First, because they had very good reviews from friends who had worked with them, secondly, they are a family own business who have been in business for over 25 years and there prices were 10-15% cheaper than other companies. To say I was satisfied is an understatement. They were on time, did exactly what they said they would do, were professional in terms of their work and cleanliness, and completed the job exactly on time . They put in Simonton windows (which I now consider the best) with the Prosolar Glass (keeps 95% of heat and sun out of your house or units) and their warranty is superb. Their installers were on time, communicated what and how they were doing the project, answered questions with a smile on their face, put the windows in to perfection, cleaned the rooms where the windows were placed, and actually cleaned the windows after the installation. We picked Michael's Construction over another 5-star Yelp rated company because their quotes were about equal but Michael's used better windows. The sales guy who came was professional. Not too sales-y, got straight to the point. What really impressed me was the construction crew. They came first thing in the morning, were clean and efficient, and worked well together. We had some problems with the sliding glass door (came with the door on the wrong side) but John, the head construction dude, was on the phone relentlessly with their office straightening it out for me. I have no idea what went on, but I could tell that John was on my side trying to make sure my house got put back together right in time for my Memorial Day weekend barbecue the next day. He drove off, came back with a new door. They ended up spending an extra two hours here, but three windows and a sliding glass door got installed in under 7 hours. And they clean up after themselves. When I first started shopping around for replacement windows, I just pulled random names out of a hat to get bids. One guy spent an hour at the house going on and on and on about how the materials in his windows are the same materials used in the space station. I just couldn't take it anymore.
