The building is newish and the inside of the office was freshly renovated and had a nice clean appearance. Even though they gave me the full battery of 'new patient' services I was in & out in around an hour. The hygienist was nice and just as talkative as every other hygienist....even though they have your mouth full of sharp tools they continue to ask questions. I guess they seem to find silence uncomfortable. I wonder if I just brought in a pair of headphones it would save us both the awkwardness of the situation....but i digress. I was amazed that the hygienist remembered my wife's name and made the connection from just the series of vowels that was coming out of my mouth. She had a good memory since it had been easily 6 months since her visit. The dentist was younger than 50 and a very nice guy. He took the time to chat me up and not just dive right in. Dr. Javid is very gentle. When I first went to him back in the late 90s I had just lost my dental insurance and he worked with me. I since took my daughters and moved to Florida five years ago and still fly up for cleanings alone. I could write 15 paragraphs on my issues he fixed and very affordable for someone that was self employed, self insured. The worst kind of dental visit is the one where you're going to the dentist so the dentist can fix his own mistakes. What's worse, my patience with the office staff finally wore out. Their no-nonsense approach might be efficient, but inflexibility does not always make for happy customers.

Rather than telling me about the claim denial, giving me a chance to help dispute it with the insurance company which would have been successful, they just billed me the full amount. When I asked for a detailed narrative for the history of the claim, they did not follow through. When I called asking about it (my 3rd request) the person who answered the phone hung up on me. I sent them a certified letter requesting a detailed explanation of the claim history, and they ignored the request. In my opinion, this practice has become very unprofessional and has a sense of entitlement. I recommend finding a different dentist office, which is what I am doing now!
