His communication was outstanding and his work is exceptional! Robert is also very friendly and respectful. I was having trouble with florescent lighting in my kitchen and bathroom. The ballasts needed to be replaced but he bypassed the ballasts and put in LED lighting and I absolutely love the results. I have so much light! He also did some drywall repair which was long overdue. Robert was very mindful of dust and debris and went to great lengths to minimize all that. I left a voicemail with Robert on Easter Sunday. We woke when our smoke detector battery started to chirp. Robert contacted us on Monday morning and made the appointment in the afternoon. Robert arrived on time and after installing the new battery the detector continued to chirp. The units had a exceeded their useful life. Robert offered to check inventory at the local HD and picked up the devices. He provided a quote for the work and gave us the opportunity to purchase the units and reschedule the installation. Immediately turned down the work and started talking about how he is insured, bonded, with 2 million dollars. My attempt at installing a ceiling fan went south, so I decided to try a handyman. Robert is great! He was punctual and had my fan wiring situated in about 15 minutes. He also took the time to explain where I messed up with the wiring; which I greatly appreciated. I inquired about having wall outlets installed so I can hang TVs on the walls of two bedroom. Robert was very honest and said hiring an electrician would be a lot cheaper and they'd be able to do the job quickly. I appreciate that honesty, and him leaving me with contact info for two local electricians. Robert arrived exactly when he said he would, really knew what he was talking about, and did a great job on all our projects. He replaced our fire alarms, mounted our TVs and replaced our garbage disposal. He used quality products, made great recommendations and is really friendly. We had a water leak coming through our living room ceiling as a result of the work of a contractor who was laying tile in the upstairs bathroom. The contractor had a drywall company come out to cut out, patch, and texture the wet drywall in our ceiling. When the drywaller arrived, he asked if he could borrow our ladder (I thought a drywaller would have his own ladder), and he finished the job really fast (faster is not always better). But the next day when we looked at the work he had done, the drywall patch looked terrible! The texture didn't match the surrounding texture on our ceiling, causing an extremely noticeable rectangular patch in our living room ceiling! When we asked the drywaller to come back out to fix it, he told us that we wouldn't be able to find anyone who could do it better. We obviously complained that this was not acceptable, so the contractor asked Robert (Call Our Handyman) to come out. Robert was extremely courteous the entire time he was at our house (and brought his own ladder). He spent several hours carefully making sure the patch was done right and that the new texturing matched the surrounding ceiling texture (which he admitted was a unique texture that is hard to match). He applied two coats of paint to make sure that it blended in as much as possible. The end result was amazing! He did such a great job matching the texture, and we were very impressed with the high quality of his work and his professionalism. Thank you Robert! read more

I called Robert of "Call Our Handyman" this morning based on the reviews here on Yelp. I was absolutely THRILLED with everything about my experience! My wife and I needed a toilet tank replaced and a shower curtain rod installed (into the wall, not the spring-tension type) over our bathtub. Robert was able to squeeze us in the same day we called. Both installations went flawlessly. Robert knew exactly what he was doing, he took no more time than was necessary, and his prices were very fair. I made it a point to ask Robert about his background, and he carefully explained that he is not a licensed contractor, which means that in California, he cannot do any job for which the materials and labor exceed $500, even if I supply the materials myself. (Thanks, California. Way to keep the small businessman down.) When I asked him why he specifically limits his service area to certain cities, he explained that he needs to have a business license in every city he does any work in, and that frankly, the demand for his services in his service area is very high, and if he took on more areas, he's not sure he could continue to give the high level of personal service his customers have come to expect. I was impressed with how conscientious Robert is! While others might bend the rules and do larger jobs ... or work in areas where they don't have a city business license ... Robert would rather turn down the work than be dishonest. Robert and I chatted some, and I learned that he has two young children, that he's committed to providing excellent service as a handyman, and that he has made a lifetime commitment to serving his customers well. Hats off to those who left honest reviews. ... (I'm still scratching my head over a couple of negative reviews that appear to have been written by people who weren't even his customers.) While he was here, we also asked for a quote to drywall where we had an odd interior window. His quote was a fraction of the previous quote we'd received. We needed 2 ceiling fans replaced 1 defective (not good in hot weather) Robert replied he could come out the following afternoon for an estimate. He arrived on schedule was able to replace the 2 fans that day. We also had a leak in piping going to the pool equipment, he recommended calling the pool repair person because it wasn't a simple cut and mend PVC pipe and involved a valve so for better service call pool repair.
