We had so much fun here yesterday, I'm so bummed they are closing. The inside (and tent outside), are all decorated for Christmas - complete with ornaments, and trees hanging from the ceiling. As if that isn't fun enough, they have a rubber ducky scavenger hunt - which was so much fun! If you're reading this, and are not sure if it's doable - it is, we completed it, and won a 6 pack. The beers are really good, you order at the bar, then have a seat wherever you like. The bartenders are super nice, and may confirm a duck or two if you are debating about the colors of one/what you are seeing. While there isn't good here, you can bring food in - we ordered from the Mexican place next door this time, and it was delicious. The evening we came in, we were meeting up with friends before a show. We had all picked up carryout food to have with our beers. I enjoyed Operation Steingrabber, a Czech Dark Lager. OG Tennyson brewery. I'll start off by saying that I LOVE Josh, Shelby, and Chris. But honestly they do an amazing job. Friendly, customer service focused, knowledgeable about beer, playing good music, and holding down the bar. Nice outdoor space when the weather is warmer. Lots of seating inside plus the side room complete with shuffle board. A few TVs but the vibe is to sit and have a drink. Read a book. Talk to your neighbor. Order some food from next door and enjoy an hour or two by yourself. Family friendly and great for groups too. A bit of everything on the tap list too. Always an IPA or two. West coast and generally a hazy. A lager and a sour of some sort. A seltzer and recently a hard tea. Think Twisted Tea but not as syrupy or processed. You can really taste the tea leaves. I'm not gluten free but this is an amazing drink. Sometimes double IPAs and double dry hopped versions of the flagship beers such as Janet Reno. Definitely a spot to stop on Tennyson or in the Regis/Berkeley area. Gotta pay respects to the classics. A few hundred apartments are opening down the road so I'm unsure how that will affect business. For me, Call to Arms is the anchor for "lower Tennyson." This is a huge place that has many different seating options for your party's needs. They go big for holidays, so the place was decked out in hilarious holiday decor. Mentioned in Westword's 100 Bars, Call to Arms offers a variety of beer options. Also new to me, is hard tea. I gave this a try in a little 4 oz taster and was not disappointed. This would be my go to if I were a regular here. I did try the Janet Reno Dance Party brew as well. Hilarious title for those of us from the 90s but not my jam in terms of beer. I will say that of all the breweries in Denver I have been to, Call to Arms was the most fun! I am not a big beer drinker but appreciate that Call to Arms has hard tea, hard seltzers, and sour options. If you are one that is afraid to commit, you can get 4 oz tasters between $3-$5 depending on your selection. Call to Arms has many seating options, both indoors and outside in their tent. Food can be ordered from nearby restaurants (such as Kalaka) or you can enjoy packaged snacks from the bar such as Kettle Head Popcorn or Dots Pretzels. We went for their Big Holiday Energy Pop-Up and it lived up to the title. Wrapped gifts and glittery tress hung from the ceilings as you are surrounded by everything red and green. Chairs are covered in Santa hats and a faux fireplace is flanked by two crooked Whoville Trees with a Grinch arm poking out. A line forms at the bar to order your drinks. Great brewery. Always wanted to stop by. Bunch of friends stop by during the bust holiday seasons end. They had a nine additional tented area for all the people. The beer selections were far & wide and great tasting. Ww came during their Christmas themed time. There was a nice National Lampoon's RV out side. We got cool commemorative Moose glassware from our drinks. All in All this is a great meeting place for friends and business partners. The only down part was so many kids there, but I think that's just a downtown hipster Denver thing. Kids in Bars.....Yeah that's just different. But that's another time to discuss that. I came to CtA looking to participate in their Oktoberfest celebration. I was a day late, but that was my only disappointment. The bartender was a charming woman who helped with my tasting plank. Once I had finished the sampler, I asked her about their IPAs. I've never been a fan but wondered if she could recommend one I should try. While they weren't currently pouring her recommended "gateway" IPA, she really liked the Stab in the Dark, a West Coast IPA. I am sold. This was an excellent brew and I could become a believer. This place had a great vibe, lots of room for groups, and in a fantastic Denver neighborhood. I would recommend without qualification. read more

Great, fast service. Came here after an early dinner at Parisi for a quick round before heading home. Cute decor, good music... amazing beers. I got a canned kombucha (pineapple/peach) as I'm off alcohol for a week after getting fresh ink... but the family really loved the Coffee Oats and Hose (porter) as well as the Operation Steingrabber (Czech dark lager). The smell from the coffee oats and hose was heavenly and a small sip I had was yummy! Excellent quality is just one of the hallmarks of this brewery. Aside from having a large outdoor patio, it has a pub-like feel near the bar itself. Their flagship seltzer (La Clawsuit w/ Peach, Orange & Guava) is way better than most. I'm not an IPA guy, but I know a fair number of people who enjoy Janet Reno's Dance Party -- A Hazy IPA. I am also quite fond of Operation Steingrabber -- A dark Czech lager. I can almost always find something to like here, and it is the easiest brewery to which I can walk, which makes this a frequent first or last stop on a Tennyson crawl. One of my favorite breweries in Denver! It is located on Tennyson Street and just north of the busy part, which makes parking easy. They have a large inside space with patio tables outside. Their beer selection is great and always changing! We love the Halloween and other seasonal decorations here. I've been wanting to try Call to Arms for a little while and was excited when the opportunity arose. I had one of their most popular selling beers, The Ballroom Beer. This was a nice and light lager with a great flavor to it but with just enough crispness to keep it refreshing! Easily drinkable and easy to get more than one round with this beer! This brewery is my go-to spot, especially with all the other bars, breweries and restaurants Tennyson has to offer. Abby, Chris, Shelby, Josh, and all the workers at CTA are very accommodating and welcoming (especially if it's your first time there). They have a wide-beer selection to meet the needs of craft beer lovers (ales, IPAs, lagers, porters, etc.). As an IPA enthusiast, the classic CTA IPA, Cool Story Hansel IPA (West Coast), Janet Reno Hazy IPA, and Akin IPA (Double-Dry Hopped Hazy) are must try's. Plus, CTA loves a theme and will decorate the brewery depending on the season (Christmas time gets quite busy with the Big Holiday Energy decorations, it's quite impressive. My daughter and her new husband recently held their wedding reception at Call to Arms. What a fun venue. We had over 100 people in attendance, and there was plenty of space to accommodate this group without feeling crowded. They don't serve food (usually have food trucks for that). We had street tacos catered in which worked out great. The whole vibe was fun and laid back. They have both indoor and outdoor areas and opened the big garage doors so it was well integrated. The beer was great, with plenty of gluten free options. The bartenders, Drew, Joey, and Alex, were so friendly, accommodating, helpful, and upbeat throughout the evening. They helped us with making the place look great, were very easy to work with and considerate. Many of the guests told us what a great place it was to have the reception. It was perfect! And boy, do they go all out! While there, I enjoyed: * Blueberries Are F****** Purple, a collab with Uhl's Brewing, this blueberry, lemon, and basil sour teased you with sour without blowing your palate out. 6.5% ABV Narnia of Partya, a kiwi hefeweizen, which is also their Pride Beer, drank smooth and with definite notes of kiwi. 5.5% ABV * These beers delivered. I'm not a fan of beers that promise tastes and then you have to work to find them. Both brews left zero doubt and took no effort to find and enjoy the flavors. I came here on a very busy Monday night. So busy that I wasn't allowed to order a flight. But I ended up getting three out of the four beers I wanted to try. So I took a seat at the bar and had my beers. I loved schwarzbiers but the one here didn't cut it. The sour and coffee porter more than made up for it. Those two were very good. Yesss!!! I love exploring new breweries in Denver, and Call To Arms has quickly become another favorite. I was meeting a date here and arrived a little early to get some work done on my laptop. Grabbed a beer at the bar (staff is so great) and chilled at one of the barrels. There were groups of people in the other room clearly working on projects, so they were on the same vibe. Call to Arms was one of the last breweries we checked out in the Denver area. We visited it on the way to the airport to catch out flight to go home. Because we were cutting it pretty close, we ended up getting a Growler. I had to Google "Can I take a growler on a plane". The answer is a responding yes! I don't remember the name of the beer that we got, but it was essentially a mango hazy IPA. When I opened up the growler a couple of days after returning home, the mango taste was strong but not too overpowering. Out of all the beers we had in Denver, I have to say this one was one of the best. Really wish we had the opportunity to check out their others beers but we had already returned home.
