I'm happy to give this small business a 5 star review. My Dolphin pool sweep stopped working and I needed to get it checked out. Another pool store is half a mile from my home but I decided to go 6 miles away to Callen Pool Supply because they specifically service MayTronics equipment. I'm glad I did because the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, was greeted politely and they treated my 3 year old very kindly as she ran around their store. Super happy with the overall experience. It's hard to find a company that can work on pool lights! My house is old so the breaker wasn't GFCI protected. Ran into issues getting a replacement light installed with other companies but Callen jumped in and saved the day. Not only did they replace the light, but we now have the proper electrical set up. Come here and don't waste your time at Leslie's​ Pool Supplies. The young lady at the counter (I wish I remembered to catch her name) was uber helpful! I had previously gone to LPS about 5x and they kept selling me more chlorine-based​ products and telling me to wait and come back to "test the water" after about a week, I came to Callen based on the great reviews and I was not disappointed to say the least. I was genuinely​ helped, the lady told me exactly what I needed which was not more chlorine-based products (it was actually copper-based) since my pools chlorine was super high already. She gave me the steps to take and I only had to make 2 trips vs 5. Did I mention my cloudy green pool became crystal clear in less than 1 week!! Worked with Scott to purchase and install a new pool heater. We did most of the planning using Yelp which was very easy. The installation was very fast (probably one hour), but the installer found that I had water in my gas line, so the heater wouldn't light. He advised me to contact the gas company to confirm his diagnosis. I took his recommendation and they confirmed there was water in the line. After we cleared the water the heater started right up and worked flawlessly. Great customer service and competitive pricing. Would definitely use them again. read more

Where do I start? First of all everyone I've come into contact with at the store is kind and very helpful. There is a real neighborly and American mom and pop vibe. Except it's not 80 year old mom and pop. It's a wise elder name Scott. This guy sets the tone for the store. He runs or owns it with pride and is ALL about saving you money to earn yor business for the long haul. I buy all my supplies there instead of Amazon because he saves me thousands in pool cleaning services, equipment I don't need and protecting my pool from harm by educating me. Contacted Callen Pool Supply regarding my pump suddenly not working. I had two other companies quick to quote a new pump at about $1,500. The team at Callen Pool Supply were quick to respond and walked me through a possible bad part on the motor. They tested the old part in front of me to ensure it was bad and had the replacement in stock. Sure enough, $30 capacitor replaced and the pump is good as new. We own a Dolphin Pool Sweep, and it's still under warranty. A cog broke which caused the wheels to stop turning. When we called Dolphin we found the closest place to do warranty work is Callen. We called and made an appointment. Very friendly. When we got there we explained we had to drive over an hour to get there. Not only did they fix it while we waited, they gave us great tips on it's use, especially how to keep the cord from getting tangled. It's refreshing to see and experience quality top notch service. I am so impressed by Callen Pool Supply I hardly know where to begin. Callen provides old-school customer service -- truly serving the customer, not just trying to move them along so they can ring up the next customer. They are extremely knowledgeable and eager to help you to understand and do what needs to be done to keep your pool looking great. At the same time they are cost-conscious and help you to keep your costs down. Unlike some other places, they are not trying to squeeze every penny out of you. Scott and Jeff are especially terrific! When my pool pump sprang a leak, they saved me the cost of a service call to my home by explaining in detail how to disconnect the pump from the filter basket and the electrical controls so I could bring the motor to them to inspect and analyze. On my tiny pension, saving the cost of the service call was huge. Once they had my motor in their store, they found the problem and repaired it for the cost of parts only -- no labor cost. Reinstalling the repaired motor, I screwed up the alignment of the parts and damaged a large piece. I brought it in to them and instead of selling me a new one, they again saved me money by giving me a used one they had in the store -- no charge. They also gave me some additional advice on how to avoid damaging the replacement part. It worked! I also like the brands of pool chemicals that they sell. The ALG-1000 works better on algae than any other product I have ever tried. As for parts, whatever you need they either have it there already or can order it for you quickly. In sum, Callen is staffed by knowledgeable, service-oriented pool experts. They treat you fairly, give you honest, accurate advice, and provide high-quality products. I called them to ask if they carry dry acid so I can simply add two pounds to lower my PH for my above ground pool with a SWCG....(high PH being a side effect of SWCG pools) ....just simple dry acid....While their intentions may have been to help me, I was made to feel unintelligent in the matters of pool chemistry by telling me there is no such thing as dry acid...she kept referring to muriatic acid which I prefer not to use as dry acid is a bit safer. The point is that there IS such a thing as dry acid! All in all just a snotty, 'I know more than you' attitude-anyway, they're not getting my business, and they'll get this review. After having not so Pleasant experience at Leslie's pool supplies we called this place told them we need a filtration system ASAP and that we where about 20mins from their store. Well they said no problem they would stay open extra 30 minutes for us to show up. Jeff attended us he showed us different filter system explained each one in detail and pros and cons of each one. We explain to him that we needed a system put in a soon as possible since we didn't have one. This all happens on a Friday.
