For the last few months, my pool sweep has been moving really slow and stuck on one section of my pool. I never taken my pool sweep for repair before but coming in I was expecting to drop it off and pick it up a day or two later and pay a hefty bill. To my surprise, Everett took it apart and started diagnosing the problem. He fixed it on the spot. It turned out I had a bad wheel and float and cost $60. We live in Natomas, but when we need serious pool advice, we head to Rancho Cordova to talk to the experts at Callen Pool Supply. The first time we visited was after a phone call asking for advice, which resulted in an offer to borrow a tool. Really? You don't want to sell us this tool that we might need once in a lifetime? What service! Our second visit was to find a gasket for our pool filter that we could not find at other stores. We got the gasket, plus advice on how best to install and maintain it. Today, we are in the market for a new pool vacuum and knew we needed advice from the pros. We made the drive and were able to explain our needs (a product that won't get all bound up by palm fronds that fall into the pool) to Jeff, who made some recommendations, then offered to rent us a unit (very inexpensively) to try out for the week. He even carried it to the car for us! Jeff was awesome, but I have to say that every visit to Callen has been a great customer service experience. Great company dedicated to exceptional customer service. I had a pump problem. Bought a new one from them. A friend installed it (incorrectly I might add). I couldn't figure out why my pool sweep wasn't working. I asked if they could send someone out to take a look and double check my friends work. They sent Kevin out. My spa has not looked better since I started going here. Wes has never steered me wrong on a product. When I ask a question he gives me my options and doesn't try to sell me a bunch of junk I don't need. They do free water testing too. My spa was a mess before I started going here. I used to get my supplies at big box stores and they are a little cheaper there but no one at those stores knows anything about spas. I recommend that if you need spa stuff you support this family owned business. Everyone is super nice. And NO I am not related to anyone at the store or friends with anyone, actually I just wrote a bad review for another business and realized that need to write more positive reviews about the great business out there so they can stay in business. read more

My family has been going to Callen Pool Supply for around 30 years! Even though I don't have a pool myself, I often help my parents in taking care of their pool... after all, I grew up swimming in it and occasionally swim when I visit, I might as well help out a little! I love going there. The customer service is amazing... they treat you like family when you walk in and most of the time don't even need to ask your name when they need to pull your account to test your water. Not guarantee your work??? That's the answer we received when we checked out having a pool light replaced. The cost would be $150 for labor, but the service man will not guarantee his work and if it leaks, he gets to charge us again???!!! What!? This is unheard of and unethical. And, the owner, who quoted us the price....she quoted the price, then changed the quote practically in the same breath, and then said she could walk us through the process of changing it ourselves and noted that she has not had a problem with leaks being reported from customers who change their own pool bulbs!! Really??? And your serviceman cannot change one without it leaking?? Best to hire a customer to change the lights. I am wondering if the serviceman is a bona fide, licensed pool maintenance person...maybe not. He also installed our new pump and it took him several days....he did not know the pump and how it operates, and could not get it installed properly without calling the company. We are satisfied with Wes....he has saved us money by repairing our polaris a couple of times....great guy! We have bought two big ticket items from this business in the past to the tune of several thousand dollars. You would think the business would be as loyal to its customer as the customer is to it. We've decided to work with Wes when we need maintenance on our pool cleaner and buy the essentials, muriatic acid and chlorine from them....the prices of these items has been competitive and the business is close by. read more
