We will not be returning. We have been coming here for the past 2 years as it's closest to home since we moved to the island. They have always lacked customer service and friendliness but we have never felt pushed into any treatment until recently. We saw a new, young vet who instantly pushed multiple things. When I told her no to all of it, she treated me as if I lacked care for my dog. She danced around the whole point of our visit while continuing to push unnecessary meds and procedures that no other vet has ever brought up. 1 star only because it's the lowest! I will never bring another animal to this Veterinary due to the unprofessional, condescending receptionists towards pets and their owners. I lost one very special little dog because of the negligence of the reception staff and poorly trained in emergent situations. I made the mistake of giving Camano Island Veterinary clinic a second chance. When a customer emphasizes the extreme separation anxiety of a pet 3 times in the conversation, the only response is to "drop him off and we will get to him when we can, (for blood in his urine), and I can't stay with him, there will be no more chances! I will bring my dog to the pet emergency clinic, and stay with him until he is seen. 0 receptionist staff compassion and education in emergent situations. I asked for a refill of his medication that calms him, only to be met with accusatory language to the effect of, "we just filled the prescription, they're gone already?! only to look a little closer to discover she was a year off the last prescription refill. This is the second time I have experienced this accusatory language. I DO NOT TAKE MY DOGS PRESCRIPTION! and to insinuate this is despicable. I have documentation of this from the first time! I took my dog out because she was coughing and having a hard time breathing. They put her on antibiotics for water around her heart I heard my dog go down on my porch she had congestive heart failure she would still be alive if they had given her water pills and a steroid but they didn't they also told me I needed to take her to a specialist and they would put a needle in er chest and remove the fluid and it was going to cost me five thousand dollars. The vet I dealt with was going on vacation ad I don't think she cared it was all about pushing people it the door I'm thinking it's time to find a better vet. read more

Had an urgent issue with my pup. Before rushing off to the vet, I thought it wise to consult with her primary care vet first. After 2 calls and 3 text messages, I had no response from them. Same the next day. Hard to believe that they just chose to ignore my repeated request to discuss the matter over the phone And get their counsel. Time for a different vet. read more

We used to go here for years but finally had enough and switched to NW vet (we have to drive off the island and pay more but its very worth it). The phone answering to start is horrible. I always felt like I was bothering or interrupting when calling. They are very rude when answering calls. We had a dog that had addison's disease that required medication and a shot every 28 days. This shot was about $200. Each time we would pick it up, the receptionists would comment on how expensive it is (yeah, we know... it's a pain!) I've used Camano Vet for 30 plus years. They've been bought by someone else and had heard that they have gone to crap. Bonnie checked my 2 cats last year and Bonnie is good. This time a new young vet that that doesn't believe in a raw food diet, ok fine but she kept returning to it and finally said I was going to harm my cats or someone in my family.Then told me that I had to vaccinate my cats by law. That was it ,I put my cat that she had looked at back in his crate and loaded both up. Young dumb vet just out of school. She just wanted me to purchase her food and spend money. We are new to the area & we're referred by my good friend. We are dog sitting for a few weeks & noticed what appeared to be a tic on the dog we are caring for. My first visit using this vet. Called ahead of time to get complete price for a procedure. Price seemed reasonable. Got there, had procedure done and went to pay and cost was double plus what was quoted over the phone. The young woman behind the desk seemed like she was being interrupted having to take my payment. We have been going to Camano Bet Clinic for years. Today, we had say goodbye to our boy dog. Camano Vet Clinic could not have been more kind, loving, and treated our best friend and us like we would hope to treated at such a vulnerable and difficult time. Under new ownership since 2019, this vet clinic is no longer interested in providing the best services to keep my cat healthy and happy. The rules are too strict and don't allow the staff to make accommodations for an animal with special needs. read more

Always pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price for having 2-3 dogs checked out at the same time and for prescriptions. Looks like it's been over two years since a review here. I have grown up with animals so always had a vet in my life. I have never ever stopped going to a veterinarian clinic because I was so unsatisfied. The doctors are fine and good which is what you want of course for your loved ones. I was pushing to get past the awful smell of that place and the front desk staff being slightly disconnected and curt, interrupting you, and seeming to be inconvenienced by your calls. But after a terrible miscommunication on the phone all of those things seemed much worse and cumulative. I was told to come down and pick up something for our kitty's ear after a phone conversation...after I got there they had no idea what I was talking about and rejected the meds I had been told I would pick up. They offered something just to appease me (cortisone drops for ear mites??) and said they could only give me the treatment if I made an appt. but didn't have anything for TWO WEEKS!! Didn't care, didn't try to accommodate, too busy to treat me like a real client, they had other things to deal with. So I found a great professional CLEAN place in Stanwood that I actually pay a little more for, it is well worth it. And it doesn't knock you down with the smell of animal waste when you walk in.] It's too bad because I live on the island and like to keep our money here as much as possible, oh well. read more

Very responsive, helpful, and informative. I was able to get my dog in on an emergency basis after my regular vet was only able to recommend driving several miles to an animal ER facility. The office staff was friendly, and the vet was common sense professional (and friendly as well). I'll definitely be taking my animals here in the future. read more

I needed to get my foster dog in as soon as possible. She was uncomfortable and needed to be seen. The first woman I spoke with was cold, rude and sounded thoroughly disgusted that I would even try to have the dog seen. She finally said they would have her seen by the tech but if there was anything really wrong they wouldn't be able to do anything about it. I thanked her and said I would try somewhere else. After a number of dead ends I called back and asked to go ahead with bringing her in to see the tech. Well lucky me, I got to talk to the OTHER rude, cold and obviously disgusted sounding person who answers phones there. She was actually even worse than the first and refused to let me bring the animal in. Said they might be able to see her on Wednesday. I asked if she felt that it was appropriate to let the animal suffer for five days and she said it was all she could do. I have heard repeated complaints about this hospital and now I know why. It wasn't just the fact that they didn't care about the animal. It was also the fact that they made sure I knew they didn't care what I thought and the animal just wasn't worth their time. read more

Good for planned clinical stuff but not great for diagnostics or emergencies. I had a dog with the itchies. Nothing horrible but I wanted to be sure there wasn't a problem. Instead of offering a skin scraping to test for the litany of ailments they just said pop a benedryl. Mind you my dog could have had mange, or a bunch of other problems. I took my dog to a dermatologist instead which was much more expensive but we did get to the answer. Another dog was having a bout of severe pancreatitis and was violently ill. Pooping pure blood, and vomiting. It was the middle of the day and they just couldn't fit me in until the end of the day?! What? So instead we had to run 45 minutes away to the emergency vet where the dog lived for two days before getting transferred to a specialist. The E vet told us without treatment this dog would have likely died that day a horrible death. read more

The vets and people working here really care about the animals they are seeing. Been bringing my pets here since 1998. This past weekend was the first time I used their boarding services. My dog was happy and not nervous or upset when I picked her up. Other than the normal I missed you and glad you're home mood. Will use the boarding service again. read more
