The sea bass with spinach and artichoke sauce was divine The kale salad was really fresh. I wish they could have cut the kale smaller. It was too big to chew. The beet salad was really good as well. Salmon was cooked perfectly. The steamed veggies slightly overcooked. The pork chop was juicy and very soft. The Brussels sprouts was crispy and good. I came here last year for dinner and decided to come back again. The grounds are nicely landscaped and you can bring your fur baby to dine with you al fresco. I decided on the prime rib dinner, which came with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli & cauliflower. My friend ordered the ravioli. I ordered my prime rib medium, however, what I got was more on the well done side. I should've sent it back. The other thing was that my meal wasn't very warm at all, where my friend's pasta was very hot. The prime rib wasn't the best I've had and it was way overcooked. We had breakfast here, that was included with our stay. It was buffet style. There were pancakes, sausage, plain scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs with pepper and onions with cheese on the top. There were also hard boiled eggs and roasted potatoes. There was a toaster making where you make your selection of bread, either white or wheat, and place it at the top of the toaster. When it's done it falls to the bottom tray. You have options of butter and jellies for the toast. There was also coffee, hot tea and orange juice. There was a cold cereal self serve area with cut up bananas and oranges. As well as hot oatmeal. Vanilla yogurt was also an option with granola and sweetened blueberries as toppings. The condiments included ketchup, pancake syrup and fresh salsa for the eggs. Everything is self service. There was a very long line of people waiting to get in before they even opened. They had a lot of seating options. I'd say the food was just okay. It wasn't the best but it did the job. The pancakes were terrible and the potatoes were hard and dry. The scrambled eggs with onions and peppers were very good with the fresh salsa. The hard boiled eggs, yogurt with granola and fruit and the toast with butter and jam were also very good. We enjoyed dinner at the lodge on an overnight stay. We had booked the dinner and stay package and could choose from any entrees on the menu. I chose the scallops and my husband the prime rib special. Additionally, we ordered the crab cakes and shrimp scampi appetizer. The ambiance itself is super cozy and quaint. The service was slower but not in an annoying way. It felt like a slower pace dinning experience, which personally I really enjoyed. The busser brought water and warm bread to our table right away- which was awesome! The appetizers were both very good! The one entree that was not desirable was the prime rib. It was very thin, tough to cut through and certainly overcooked. I would pass on the prime rib. The scallops were really wonderful! I would certainly order them again! We were pleased there was a restaurant on premises. The restaurant was quaint, they used brown paper as table cloths and there were crayons on the table. We wrote messages to each other, that was a cute touch. So we booked a reservation and were promptly seated. We ordered Cheese burgers and fries, something simple because we had a gourmet dinner at another location the day before. The waiter was responsive , we received our water and drinks promptly. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. We love Brussels Sprouts! However not these. They were dry overcooked and burnt. My husband ate a few and pushed the appetizer away. When the food we ordered arrived at our table it looked delicious, a big juicy cheese burger with red onions, pickles and cheese with fig sauce and goat cheese, and a very large order of fries. The fries were way overcooked and tasteless. The burger had no seasoning, I took a bite and it was tasteless. We ate a few fries, my husband was hungry and he ate his burger. He loves fries, so it was interesting to see him not eat his fries. I do not recommend eating at this restaurant, we will not be back. Service was friendly but they obviously did not staff the kitchen correctly for a busy night. Good was ok but very pricey. We were staying at a local dog friendly hotel in Cambria and the front desk highly recommended the restaurant at the Cambria Pines Lodge as a pet friendly must go to for a delicious dinner. We were promptly guided to a wonderful patio table in a garden setting that was directly adjacent to an open fire in a fireplace. Such a memorable location. Our server was very welcoming and friendly and introduced us to the specials of the day while handing us menus. We had a hard time deciding between all of the tempting choices. We ultimately ordered the Swordfish with a Cajun Cream sauce and the Blackened Salmon served on a bed of penne pasta with a sun-dried tomato pesto cream sauce. These turned out to both be taste sensations! The swordfish was perfectly cooked and the Cajun cream sauce was delicious. The blackened salmon was superb and the penne in the sun dried tomato pesto sauce was a wonderful partner to the robust spice combination of the salmon. We absolutely loved our first visit to the restaurant at the Cambria Pines Lodge. The next time we are in the area we will definitely return for more of their delectable options. Yay! read more

This is a popular spot! The lounge was hopping with live music, singing and dancing, people playing cards and drinking. You can order food in there too. We ate in the restaurant- it's maybe a little dated, with the wallpaper and plastic tablecloths, but cozy with candlelight and plenty of tables. Not too many choices, for the giant menu; plenty of seafood and about 4-5 other choices: chicken, pork chop, burger, steak. They have prime rib every night but usually sell out. We got a couple and they were very good. We also had the scallops based upon a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. The sauce w/ mushrooms and greens and the scallops was excellent. I had a burger, it was way too salty. I wouldn't order that again. Our waiter was extra chatty. He recommended a wine that was different from what we ordered, it was an upsell, but we did enjoy it. Due to the Cambria Christmas Market event, it was fully booked; so we were assigned outdoor seating. However, we enjoyed the opportunity to experience outdoor seating. We have now tried the GRILLED PORK CHOP, FILET MIGNON, FRIED CALAMARI, CAJUN CHICKEN PASTA, and the most delicious chocolate cake. All in all, this place has excellent service and great food. But the menu doesn't have many choices. We highly recommend the triple chocolate cake. The flavor is rich and delicious. Made a reservation a couple weeks prior to coming and quickly sat and greeted by our server. Started off our meal with some wine and the crab cakes - so good and a must try. Cambria Pines Lodge is simply stunning from the outside! Pulling into the ample parking lot I was impressed. Just off the main lobby is a nice looking bar area with fireplace, live music, etc. I could hang out there all evening. We were there for dinner though in the restaurant. I made reservations through their website which were easily honored, although they missed the part about it being our anniversary. Service was professional and efficient although rather impersonal. The restaurant overall is beautiful despite their seriously dated and somewhat tacky vinyl table"cloths". I think we were definitely the youngest patrons here, which at the age of 50 was noticeable. Anytime I visit a new restaurant I always study the menu well in advance and know what I'm going to order. I had my heart set on the Lobster Mac & Cheese but was sadly informed they were "out of". Even though we arrived at opening time. My Plan B was the Chicken Piccata which I really enjoyed. Prepared with capers, artichoke, etc in a delicious creamy sauce. Mashed taters were fresh tasting and well prepared. Veg side was tasty, seasoned and cooked to a nice al dente. My wife's filet mignon was another chapter entirely but to make a long story short, it was re-fired and comped 50% thanks to the thoughtful manager. read more

I love this place. Look like cabins in the woods. The room was nice and ample. It was very clean too. The booking came with passes to the Christmas Market and we enjoyed the Christmas lights!! Millions of lights. Beautiful and magical. This time we stayed and we enjoyed the complementary buffet brunch. They had buttered eggs and eggs With bell peppers and onions. Country potatoes, sausage, oatmeal, frozen fruit for yogurt, tea, coffee, toast, biscuits and gravy, variety of cereal, they had plenty of everything. I was just Missing some pancakes or waffles to complete the brunch. We walked from the room to the brunch! It was very nice walking through the very nice trees and settings. I really loved the green all over. Also they have a little setting for weddings. I pre-paid for dinner for my wife and I while we were staying at the Lodge. $80 for 2 dinners and a bottle of wine. Not a bad deal, if the food was good. My wife ordered the vegan Beet Wellington. This is a vegan Wellington, with beets in place of the beef. They obviously pre-cooked these items and microwaved them per order. Her Wellington was hot on the outside and refrigerator cold in the middle. Good thing it wasn't chicken I ordered the prime rib, medium rare. It came out well done. This was a thin slice of grey beef, with no fat. Chewy and tasteless. The au jus and horseradish made it edible. The sides were the regular soggy steamed green and yellow squash, and mashed potatoes that were just mashed potatoes. I mean they had no butter, or cream, or seasoning whatsoever. No gravy either. So bland. My wife commented on her food being cold, and the waitress comped her a dessert. That made my wife happy. The wine was really good. We drank a bottle of the house Cabernet. I had high hopes, and expected more from this restaurant. After tip and $20 for two side salads, the final bill was $120. I left feeling ripped off. My husband had the shrimp penne pasta with crispy pieces of tasted French bread topped with a tomato sauce with basil. The sauce was a cheesy tomato flavor that was creamy and tasty. Lovely place, comfortable atmosphere - definitely lodge-like feel. We arrived early and were seated immediately. All staff members we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Our server Brenda was delightful. I did not like the bread at all; it was gummy. I normally devour bread baskets but didn't finish even one slice. Hubby traded his original slice in for the end piece (the heel) which was better but not great. My side salad with blue cheese dressing was good. We both ordered filet mignon with pomme frites. The French fries were in fact crispy and well- seasoned. The filets, however, had absolutely no seasoning, nor did the accompanying demi-glace. We both ordered our steaks to be medium rare. Hubby's steak was medium rare but mine was over. (See photos) Neither steak had any seasoning whatsoever! I added table salt and took a bite. I added more table salt as well as black pepper; took another bite and then added a lot more salt! WTH?? The steak wasn't seasoned before it was cooked and then it wasn't seasoned with a finishing salt. Just absolutely no flavor in the steak or the demi-glace whatsoever. Disappointing but to be clear: The steaks were good pieces of meat and were tender and juicy. They just lacked seasoning. Hubby liked his vegetables. So: steak wasn't seasoned; bread sucked; veggies were okay; salad, pomme frites and cheesecake were good. We had a bottle of water and a bottle of wine on the table. Refilling our water and wine glasses was a do-it-yourself task. We both appreciated the bottle of water; nice touch. We did tell Brenda that we were celebrating my 70th birthday. I ordered a slice of cheesecake. It would have been a nice gesture to comp my dessert but that didn't happen. Brenda said that they recently started making all of the desserts in-house. The cheesecake with raspberry topping was good, bottom crust included. However, my husband got a bite of the heel of the cake and the crust there was way too thick. We visit Cambria almost every other weekend but were unaware of Cambria pines lodge restaurant. When we travel to Cambria we always bring our French bulldog so we needed a pet friendly restaurant. Thankfully we found Cambria Pines Lodge Restaurant ! We were sat on the patio in a very intimate outside seating that includes a fire place and overhead heaters it was awesome! I had the pork chop which was served with veggies which was delicious, wife got the salmon which she was able to get blackened upon request also served with veggies. My daughter got the kids pizza which she said she really liked:) but I am sure any kid would agree on pizza. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and the carrot cake which were also amazing! And our course there menu included an old fashioned with old forester I had 2 they were very tasty The service was very good as well our waitress was very attentive and checked on us frequently. This isn't a review for the restaurant but rather the Fireside Lodge in the hotel (this was the closest Yelp entry). The lodge is a homely spot for drinks and a casual spot to grab some grub. Rustic decor and a fireplace make this place extra cozy (+extra points for the holiday vibe). We were in Cambria recently and the town gets pretty quiet at night. Wanted a place to explore for the evening and the lodge seemed like a cool spot with live music. I honestly expected the place to be empty, but we walked into a decently bustling place though not overcrowded. Guessing it was a mix of locals and travelers. We snagged a spot on the oversized couches facing the stage area and as the night progressed, it got a little more busy. Folks were a slightly older crowd and the live music was pleasant. A few brave souls got up to dance. Drinks weren't too expensive either - picked up a few glasses of the house wine for $7 a pop. Per their website, happy hour is Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 5pm. You get chips/salsa with drink purchase. It looks like there's live music every evening at various schedules (see website). If you want to time things right, you can arrive towards the tail end of happy hour to get the specials and then stick around a bit after for the music. Overall, if you're in Cambria and looking for a cozy place to chill over drinks and to catch some entertainment, the Fireside Lodge is the spot. read more

We ate here for dinner while staying at the hotel and visiting the Christmas Market. The sirloin was not good. I just looked back at the menu to see the description and I am guessing the issue was with the "dry rub." The steak had an overpowering pepper taste. The vegetables also had a ton of pepper on them and were fairly mushy. The mashed potatoes were fine. Another family member had the prime rib and they enjoyed that steak. We had a family reunion in Cambria and selected the lodge for their affordable rooms and they are dog friendly. 2 of the couples decided to celebrate their 50th anniversary at the little town of Harmony. We were a group of 30. We needed somewhere to have dinner after the ceremonies. We had 2 gluten free, and 3 vegan diners in our party. I worked with Clinton in the restaurant and he was amazing! All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Clinton personally took care of our dinner on the big night. He had asked the kitchen to make extra prime rib and it was a huge hit with those of us that ordered it. There was something for everyone. Including younger children.
