Went to Robins today 6/20/26 and had a very sub-par experience. Started with the service and ended with the food. Waited an hour for a table only to see other parties who showed up later than us being seated before us. We had a party of 7 and the food was well below average. We've eaten at Robins last year and have patronized their sister restaurants many times over the last 15 years. This time was extremely disappointing. I ordered the lamb burrito and even though the flavor was good, it was pure rice with maybe 3 small pieces of lamb and zero potatoes. My wife's and daughter's chicken sandwiches were flavorless and the bread was soggy. Sloppy service and bad food made it a waste of time to go well out of our way to eat at Robin's. I literally can't believe this after the awesome experience we had here last summer. I would never think this was the same restaurant. read more

First time here, and what a wonderful experience from start to finish--even for our little Chihuahua! This is truly a dog-friendly restaurant. The garden outdoor seating area was so charming and relaxing. They even offered space heaters which we didn't need but was nice it was an option. We started with the Tuna Poke Stack, and it was delicious. The combination of fresh tuna, sweet mango, and creamy avocado was the perfect way to begin our meal. For my entrée, I ordered the seafood special featuring white seabass, and I can honestly say it was one of the best seabass dishes I've ever had--and I order seabass whenever I get the chance. It was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My boyfriend had the short ribs, which he really enjoyed, although he admitted my seabass was the winner! We paired dinner with a bottle of Daou 2023 Pessimist, which was outstanding and complemented every bite. Even our Chihuahua got to join in with the grilled chicken from the dog menu, and he absolutely loved it! To finish the evening, we shared the Pistachio Chocolate Torte. The rich dark chocolate paired beautifully with the wine and was the perfect ending to an exceptional meal. A special shoutout to Roxanne, who made the evening even more memorable. She was warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Her outstanding service elevated an already fantastic dining experience. We left already looking forward to our next visit. We visit Robins every time we go to Cambria. The food is delicious (especially the seasonally available peach cobbler!!!) and the service is always excellent. What we love is the unhurried atmosphere that allows us to enjoy our meal in peace and not feel rushed. As already mentioned the peach cobbler is divine. Also enjoy the brussel sprout started which we've eaten as a "lite dinner" option with an order of their garlic bread. I can't resist the Robin's Chow which never disappoints. Portions are large, wine list is good and the garden is lovely especially during summer for dinner. Haven't had the Sundae but it looks amazing will try next time. Stopped in on the way to Hearst Castle. We wanted a place that had something for everyone, and we were all happy. My bride had the Thai chicken and it was delicious. I had the shrimp scampi special and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the shrimp and how well it was prepared, the dish was fabulous. This was within walking distance of where we were staying so we decided to check it out. It's open air and there's greenery everywhere which was very nice, and as the evening became cooler they turned on their outdoor gas heaters which was much appreciated. We ordered the Salmon, the chicken, and the lamb curry. Each one of these dishes were absolutely delicious, they came out hot and in a timely manner. I was particularly impressed with the lamb curry because I was expecting it to be watered down, but it was not. It didn't have as much heat as my Dad's, but it tasted authentic. It took a ridiculously long time for anyone to approach our table once we were seated. Usually if servers are super busy or they get double seated or something, one of the managers will help them out by coming over and telling us someone's on their way, or they might get our drink order started, they do something to help mitigate the absence of acknowledgment from the server, but that did not happen. I observed the comings and going's of all the staff (managers, servers, bussers) that were passing us by and every single one of them averted their eyes. This is not what I expected from a place like this, and every moment that passed made the experience even more off putting. Just as I was deciding to get up and leave the restaurant, because it seemed like we were invisible, our server showed up. Just in time. Sitting out in the garden feels lovely and like you are tucked away (and the space heaters do their job). There were a lot of tasty sounding menu items and easily shared the salted beets and Thai green chicken. Both had wonderful flavor and were delicious; we were super happy with our order and would absolutely order those items again. This restaurant is tucked away on a side street off Main Street. The decor in the inside and outside is lovely. I went by myself for lunch. I was slightly annoyed that they escorted several people to their tables before me even though I was there first. But once I was seated the awesome wait staff made up for it. We booked reservations for a Tuesday but were I. Town on Monday so stopped to see if we could have lunch that day I stead? We were here in March a few years ago and liked it so much we decided to come again during our December visit. The place is even more charming during the holidays with the Christmas decorations and lights adorning the warm wood interior. The restaurant is housed in a cozy historic home built in 1935, and that vibes still lingers in the dining rooms and garden setting. We felt like we were dining in a piece of the town's story. The food reflects the culture of the central coast. Well executed, simple but with a global influence, comforting and fresh. On this visit, highlights included the filet mignon, cooked to a perfect medium rare and plated over mashed potatoes with a velvety demi glace sauce and mushrooms. The baby back ribs, which were tender with a wonderful savory glaze. The autumn salad was fresh with seasonal apples, squash, pomegranate, and feta mingling nicely together. For dessert we shared the pumpkin cheesecake which creamy not overly sweet and a graham crust that crumbled nicely together to the chew. Was meeting up with some long time friends in Cambria and we decided to go to Robin's. We made a reservation online and arrived a bit early. They had a garden table for us, even though the reservation system said none were available. What a peaceful setting. The tables were spaced appropriately so that the guests could still have meaningful conversations without having to worry about being overheard. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and boy was I happy. The fries were amazing, wish there had been more since I had to pace myself while I ate my burger!! My friends enjoyed their meals, as well. This was a great choice for our first night in Cambria. We went about 6 and without reservations. And the host was about to say it would be a long wait. He said they could seat us in the bar area in about 5 minutes but they had live entertainment with a charge of 8.00 per person. I felt that was very fair and to not have to wait. When we were seated the live music was going and pleasant . So the 8 and 9 year old boys and adults really enjoy it and was very relaxing after 8 hour drive. Now for the food we started with bread there was a charge per person but it was so worth it. Then the boys had butter noodles with parmesan cheese and split 8 oz filet that came with broccoli and mash potatoes . My daughter had the short ribs and I had ahi poke stack. For dessert the boys had scope of vanilla ice cream and daughter had peach crisp. Everything was exceptional ! I would go back again in Cambria . I will caveat that Robin's international cuisine has a California fusion interpretation - a beef bulgogi here will not be the same as a Korean restaraunt in the Bay Area, but all of their food is well executed and absolutely delicious (from someone with snobby food taste buds). The outside area was cool looking as roots from the surrounding plants wrapped around the wooden structure. I got to peek indoors and the inside area was quaint as if you were in a house. As for the food, we ordered garlic bread, Peruvian Chicken, the pork chop, brown ale short rib and chop suey. We also had the split pea soup all around and I ordered a special item salad with spinach, strawberries, pecans, feta cheese and croutons. The soups, bread and my salad came out first. The bread was good, the salad was great and the split pea soup was not great. I'm used to my pea soup with ham and bacon and this was a vegetarian option. The main courses arrived and everything looked good. My pork chop was dry although it had good flavor. The brown ale short rib received the best rating at the table. The chop suey was OK and my wife hated the Peruvian Chicken. This ended up being the second largest restaurant bill during my vacation. Overall three stars with good ambience. read more

We recently went there and the food was pretty good. The service was also really good and very nice servers. For the robin chow I would say add more flavor however everything else was amazing. They're mango gelato was really good I recommend trying. The prices were kinda expensive however it's California so I wouldn't expect low prices. The restaurant has a really nice fresh and Italy giving vibe. The building looks amazing outside and inside. I think if you're close by it's most definitely worth a try. read more

I was traveling through and saw gluten free options at Robins. I called in the evening and was able to make a reservation for just 30 mins later. The employee who answered was super kind and helpful in answering my questions. when I arrived, I enjoyed looking at the amazing garden outside with gorgeous flowers and plants. I was seated rather quickly despite the rush, and immediately noticed the live tree vines snaking through the open air restaurant. I ordered the garlic truffle fries and the pork chop and while my server was kind, he seemed a little overwhelmed and slow to respond for requests. I had to ask another employee for water and it took my server quite a while to get my food out. When my food came out, it was delicious and so gorgeous. I ordered a gluten free cheesecake to go and it was beautiful and delicious later as well. Came for lunch and sat outside on the beautiful garden patio. Service was friendly and our food came out very quickly, especially impressive because it was fairly busy. The Brussels sprouts and the mushroom soup of the day were full of flavor, albeit a bit too much blue cheese in the sprouts. My salmon bowl was exceptional--moist, perfectly cooked salmon over black rice with pickled cucumber.
