They went swimming, went to the park, took field trips....it was so much fun and the staff is great with kids. 6 year olds can be challenging at times and the staff is very supportive. Proceeding Check-in #6 to the Silver Springs Recreational Center, I will share my thoughts. This is…read morea City of Henderson Recreational Center tucked in the Green Valley community between the Pittman Wash Trail and Silver Springs Park. The amenities that it provides include outdoor swimming pools, tennis, events & activities, a dancing room, and more. It also provides the needs of my recreation, which is hiking. The Silver Springs Recreational Center grounds is connected to the Pittman Wash Trail. It is at my favorite location along the Trail where a picturesque landscape of mature trees provide a canopy of shade throughout the year. At this scenic spot, the Silver Springs Recreational Center grounds extend across Pittman Wash to the amphitheater and Pittman Wash Overlook. Here, hikers are able to ascend down a trail onto hiking trails that follow the meandering wash. Oftentimes on my Pittman Wash Trail, I have turned onto the short walking path between the swimming pools and tennis courts then crossed Silver Springs Parkway into Silver Springs Park across the street. In reality I have been here more than six times. Walking through Silver Springs Park, which I would count as a recreation center amenity has extended my time in the Henderson Great Outdoors. From my visits to the Silver Springs Recreational Center, I discovered that the restrooms are the cleanest restrooms along the Pittman Wash Trail. I am impressed by the high standards of cleanliness in the restroom and throughout the facility. If only Yelp Tips was still around I would of posted this. Recently, after hiking along the Pittman Wash, I found out that they have vending machines. This was very beneficial when I developed a deep thirst on the hike. The $3 bottle of Coke was a lifesaver. The reality is that there is a long distance from the beginning of the Pittman Wash Trail in Arroyo Grande Park to Pecos Road without proximity to cold beverages. Again, I will say "If only Yelp Tips was still around." Before voting on this review, let me bring up "voting." I have early voted here twice during the past two President Elections. My observation is that the Election aspect was managed well, where finding a parking spot could be a challenge. The parking lot here is relatively small to accommodate Election voting and events. I have seen it fill up to the point where people park across the street in the Silver Springs Park parking lot. On the aspect of voting, I will close off this review by casting a vote of Four Stars for the Silver Springs Recreational Center.

We come here for my kids basketball games. It has 2 courts so 2 games can be played side by side…read more There is not enough seating. The worst part is there is no air conditioning or if there is any, you can't feel a bit. Are you kidding me? It's 110 outside in Vegas and you sit here sweating watching your kids play. I wish NYS would not schedule basketball games here in summer. Tarakanian is much better.

I've been coming to the Rec Center on and off for about 2 years. What I like about this location…read moreis that it is close to my house, there's plenty of parking, and it is pretty new. I mainly use their fitness center which cost $4 a day or $16 a month. It's open until 8pm and it usually isn't busy. They offer treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and weights. The atmosphere is pretty comfortable and nobody hogs the machines. Depending on what times you go, the attendants play music to their liking (sometimes oldies music or hip-hop). There is also an aquatics center across the street, a basketball court, skate park, and a variety of classes, like zumba, offered as well.

My family, was looking for a place to have our mother's 104 birthday celebration. So we chose this…read moreplace. We made our reservation a month earlier and payed the deposit that was required for 4 hours. On 2/20/2026 we arrived at 3pm ready to setup for our celebration. When we walked in the room, it was filled with clothes, food and children doing projects, the reserved signs that were supposed to be on the glass doors was taken off and thrown to the side on a counter. The room was not clean. The kitchen was not clean. When I said to the staff did you forget that this room was reserved? Everybody came out of the woodwork and start moving tables and gathering up things. We had to wait thirty minutes or more for them to clear the room in order for us to setup for a four hour event. Which they never cleaned trash was on tables and floors. So we had to clean before we set up our event. At the end of the event, we went over a little and was chastised as we walked out to our cars, hearing that the office manager will be in touch with you for the additional fees. I suggest that if you really want to have a stress-free event do not use this place. There is no professionalism at all there. Mind you, we left the place cleaner then what we found it because that's what we do. And we refused to pay anything in addition to what we had already paid. I'm writing this review in hopes to save, someone else the disappointment and the upsets that we felt the evening of celebrating such a great event. Blessings to all.

The class times are convenient, our kid can play year-round, rescheduling for makeups is easy and straightforward, coaches we've had so far are encouraging and kind and make soccer fun. Our kids look forward to their soccer classes and have a blast every class. Parking can sometimes be a challenge if you're too early or late, and the staff overall is quite young. We've had some friends leave because they wanted something more competitive for their toddlers - I don't know what to say to that. Great program, looking forward to their future offerings!

If you're not an in house team don't come here. They favor their house teams. Refs sit on sidelines…read moreand don't move. They let coaches cuss at other coaches and players play dirty. Had a boy grab another and throw him on the ground, no card, no foul, nothing let him keep playing. When you talk to owner his response is he'll review the tape but does nothing you'll be back the following week to play the same team. They don't group kids with the same age bracket even though they'll tell you otherwise, had 10/11 Year olds playing 8/9 year olds and they just sake it off.

There's also a swing made for children who are in a wheelchair, which is pretty awesome, allowing all children a chance to swing and have fun. The one downfall of this park is that it's across the street from a high school school. As soon as the high school got out, this park was filled with older kids playing on stuff that is obviously made for small children, almost knocking kids over, and being a little too free with the language. I'm not a prude, but c'mon you can't hold off on the F-bombs for a few minutes? Still a great playground with a lot of things to do and plenty of disable parking spots.

There is a park and water area here with some walking paths (I come for the walking paths) as it's in a convenient location for me. Not the best park in the city, but nice and clean. If you play soccer this would definitely be the spot for you. Lots of dog walkers come here that want a quieter park. There's also a very nice and new park with a splash pad, and musical instruments on the far side of this park (look for location on the signs or you may miss it).

It's dotted with exercise equipment, benches and covered picnic tables. It connects to a rugged trail along a fence toward a washout/open area. It also connects to a cemented path around the grass fields. Lots of parking. There are toilets. Playground. Not too much shade. Lots of people walking their dogs. Lots of families enjoying the grass field.

Great park that offers three large soccer fields, multiple basketball courts, bathrooms, a working…read morewater pad, a super fun playground area with lots of things to climb, several gazebos scattered throughout, multiple swing sets and a fitness area located at the top of the hill with a walking path that will lead you there. There's also a picnic table located underneath a gazebo and a pretty great view of the surrounding area once you make it to the top of the hill as well.
