I came in on a Thursday to get 4 patches double-stitched onto my gi for jiu jitsu. The place is a little messy, but the guy's an artist, I understand. Cam greeted me and immediately stopped what he was doing to help me out with my small project. I was told it would take around 1-2 weeks to complete the job and it was $62. This is the first shop I checked out so I have no clue if this time period/price is standard. Cam was polite and thorough when we were deciding where to put the patches to my liking. During the waiting period, Cam gave good communication through phone and email. The final product was done exactly 2 weeks after I first came in. It looked amazing and was done very professionally. My go to embroidery place recommended you all because the work I want done they dont do that type of custom embroidery. I sent in my teenage son at the end of November to place an order for 2 names on jackets. All my old people whom I get embroidery from were out of business due to prices in SJ are high for rent. Anyways I was a little distraught that it was going to take 4-6 weeks for delivery but this is the only spot that would do single items. So I told my son to go ahead. He placed order said the guy at the counter was nice and laid back. I received a phone call in January advising that the jackets were ready for pick up. I was having an off day that day, I was greeted by Cam whom was nice and relaxed. I saw the jackets and was extremely disappointed as the names were an extreme small size. I asked him how and why would you do this, this small. He expressed that the guy who brought them in told him to match the size of the logo on the opposite pocket. I was extremely upset as why would I pay to have something embroidered so SMALL. I told Cam this was unacceptable and is really upsetting. I asked him to redo them without ruining the sweaters. Cam expressed calmly, "This is where I wish customers would listen to me, when I tell them it won't look good." Which is absolutely the truth. If my son would of listened we wouldn't be in this situation. Cam told me it would be another 2-3 weeks I expressed this was supposed to be a Xmas present and was already way passed the timeline I wanted to go = Even though he met his deadline. He said he will do what he can. SURPRISED! I got a phone call the next day from Cam telling me that they are ready - he did them on his time! My son picked them up today and needless to say they are PERFECT. Cam = THANK YOU for doing you and making this right even though it was NOT your fault in the first place. Never again!!! I've had tshirts made a couple times, but this time i needed to get something fast. So I tried this place and gave me the worse tshirts printed ever! And what's worse is that they literally said that customers aren't first in their service. If they mess up on your printing, they are not responsible for your shirt that you brought nor will they even offer you a complimentary shirt (which is only $2). It should ALWAYS be customers first, especially if they messed up. All the shirts were printed differently too. Very inconsistent. The whole store was a mess and by far the worse service i've had. read more

I came across Cambroidery by Yelp and Google lookup. I needed three scrub tops for school embroidered for a reasonable price. After calling a couple places and getting quotes for $20 a top, it was a relief to call Cam and get a quote of only $10 a top! I jumped on the offer and he did a great job. Although, my only complaint would have to be the turn around time. I waited 2 weeks which was a nail biter since I needed them for school which starts very soon. Overall, I am extremely pleased with his job. He runs a great business and is a great salesman; I already have a new project for him for the holidays! read more

CAMBROIDERY SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS A LAST RESORT!!!! Cambroidery is a TERRIBLE embroidery shop. I would HIGHLY recommend TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE. I took in a sweater to have it embroidered as a gift and for $150+ I'm reluctant to give this gift away. First off, they wanted 2 weeks to finish the project and didn't have it complete when I came in to pick it up. I don't know if they have too much work on their plate but to have 3 small things embroidered on one sweater they could have had it finished in a day. Second, he couldn't even center his work on either sleeve. His aim was so off I doubt he could use a urinal without pissing all over the wall. Then to top it off, if you voice your disappointment with the work theyve done and YOU'VE OVERPAID for not only will they DO NOTHING to relieve your disappointment, but they will yell at you and tell you to "GET THE FUCK OUT!" LITERALLY THIS PLACE DOESN'T DESERVE A STAR AT ALL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. SAVE YOURSELF TIME STRESS AND MONEY. read more

Most companies have a minimum larger than what we were looking for but Cam was able to accommodate us and pricing was great. I've been there twice now. First time was great, second time was bad (refer to original review below). During my second purchase, I ordered a printed t-shirt. When I picked up my shirt, the text was not what was agreed upon in the work order (including a new grammatical error). This place is awesome. Had a last minute gift idea and they did a really great job. Went in on Monday asked if they could do a short sentence on a toddler shirt which I needed ASAP. They said they would have to order the shirt b/c they don't regularly have shirts that small on hand. - Asked if I could bring in my own shirt and just have them do the printing, and they said they could do it. I went and picked up a 2T (which is the smallest they can print on) and dropped it off later that day. Paid 8.66 for the printing, and requested it to be done by Friday. As I was in a hurry, I didn't specify what type of font I wanted, only the color. So I basically, left the creativity to them...by accident. Went to pick it up on Friday and the shirt was Super Cute!!! They did an awesome job! It came out so much better than what I could've imagined. I asked for dark pink letters, which they added some purple around it. But it came out really nice! I never would've thought of adding purple. They definitely have an eye for what they're doing. I also checked out some of their embroidery work on shirts they have on display. They produce quality work on time, and I highly recommend them. -1 star for parking and small shop. However, the parking is great if it is available. Btw, this would have cost me $28 online + expediting fee + shipping. And I wouldn't have gotten it on time. read more

I have walked by this place many times and stopped in once a long time ago. Recently I went by again and was shocked at how cluttered everything was in the shop. It was like the show Hoarders! Stuff piled everywhere- I could barely get in the shop. There was a guy on the computer on the phone and he didn't seem to notice me. I left because the place seemed dirty and unprofessional and like it could go up in a ball of flames any minute! There are better more updated cleaner embroidery print shops in San Jose. When I left an older street walker type woman was entering the shop - definitely not in the best area of town either. read more

Before I start with this review, I would like to let you know that this is for the screen printing side only. I really wanted to say that the people on this shop are friendly and will work with you in terms of how you want the shirt to be laid out. But all that went out the door when I tried to let them know what went wrong with my order. The main reason why I'm giving them one star is because the printing didn't turn out like the artwork I sent them. I allowed them to take their time and not rush through the project because I wanted the shirt to turn out like how I sent the artwork. I sent the artwork and made the payment on a Thursday, I called on the following Monday and the shirt wasn't done. I told them to take their time and I'll check up on the status on Wednesday. As you can see, I was willing to give them all the time in the world for them to not rush the project and get the printing right. Instead the print on the shirt itself was darker than the original image. An example would be that pink looks more magenta. The print on the shirt itself looked like something you'd buy at the flea market. It was too dark to the point that it was obvious. You couldn't even make out some of the lettering in the shaded areas. And that's what counts the most. If yelp had the feature of posting pictures with the review, I would upload the photos and you would know what I'm talking about. I wasn't satisfied at all and I was willing to leave the shirt and come back another day just for them to get the print right, but the person who helped me said that this is the best as it can get. I called the next day and talked to the guy who printed the shirt just to find out what went wrong. I didn't call him to give him a hard time. It was more of trying to figure out what we can do to correct the problem. Instead he was trying to keep the conversation brief because he had other project to attend too. I understand that, but I am obviously unsatisfied and wanted to give him feedback so he won't make the same mistake again with another customer. His explanation of why the printing on the shirt was dark is because one of the images (back print) I sent him was supposedly poor quality that he had to make changes. My issue is that if he was running into problems where he had to make changes, why didn't he call me to let me know what was going on? Because there was no communication on their side. Like I mentioned earlier, I was willing to give them all the time they needed to make the shirt. I didn't call every day and pressured them to get it done. It was more of a take your time and don't rush it. I didn't mind waiting longer if they had to reprint the shirt or if they were willing to give me a refund. I gave them plenty opportunities to correct the problem but instead the person on the phone started getting aggravated and told me to take my projects to other shops. It's not like I would ever go back anyway. I only requested one shirt, the least they could have done was called me if they ran into some issues. Like I said earlier, I only called to see what we can do to try and fix the problem or give some constructive feedback. The person on the phone mentions that I should have been more appreciative for him changing the artwork. He probably meant well but this is something that should have been discussed before taking action. Or if anything, try being more realistic in complex images that are not all lettering. If I only knew this would be a problem for them, I would have moved on to other shops and get the work done somewhere else. He did mention that if I went to other places, it would have cost me over $100, but then again that was just one person's opinion. There are plenty of options out there and I originally was going to print the artwork on iron on paper that you buy from the store, but I wanted the shirt to look more professional so I found them. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. The examples of their screen prints that they had lying around the store looked flawless because they were either all lettering or small symbols. I was excited to get my shirt done. Instead the end product was something I least expected and came home very disappointed. Now I'm stuck with a shirt that I'm never going to wear and down $22. I am not a happy customer but at the same time I wanted to give a realistic rating. Sure the customer service was good in the beginning, but the delivery wasn't there. UPDATE!!! In response to the owners: It wasn't just the pink in the back of the shirt that I was complaining about. It was the main image in the front as well. It was too dark. And you didn't print the file I sent you as is, if you did then we wouldn't have this problem. Haven't you heard that term? The customer is always right. Try owning up to your mistakes and stop trying to make yourself look right. read more

If you are looking for a spotless well organized corporate style operation, STEER CLEAR, please! But if you arent a d-bag and you seek quality over all else, Cambroidery is the place for you. What you will find in Cam is a guy who will put his client's needs well before his own (to a fault it would seem) and will do anything and everything in his power to give you exactly what you ask for.
