The bad: They were completely unwilling to negotiate down from their initial offer. I was then told good luck finding a better price. Then I received emails from several in sales. I responded to them all as they asked if they could do anything for me. I told them I would reconsider buying a car from them if they were willing to work with me. Very aggressive sales tactics. Would not let me test drive the vehicle I requested price for online. Showed me a different vehicle. Sales lady said she had to start the test drive on the vehicle she chose before I could drive it so she could show me how the vehicle worked. She finally allowed me to drive the vehicle but stopped in front of someone's house to swap, they were standing out front in the sidewalk watching us. Not a great area to be. Did not like the car in the end. Twice on the test drive I informed her the car was burning from the engine compartment. She insisted I was wrong. My sales rep was incredible and transparent. My vehicle is perfect and I got exactly what I wanted. I was given 3 vastly different APRs by finance. Little to no transparency. Ruben with Camelback VW was awesome in helping clean up Subaru financing's mess. I was held waiting for an hour for Camelback Subaru financing to fix their mistakes when they had to request Ruben to assist. After this, I was hounded about a survey that I filled out honestly - I was not super impressed. Not only was I bribed to give them 10/10, my sales rep gave me a call and said it was threatening his pay/job even though I had marked my experience with sales specifically as excellent. I had been curious about the new Solterra electric vehicle and heard of a promotion that was going on. $50 for coming in and test driving one. Great. I made an appointment and in arriving was told there were only 2 available to test-drive. The more premium one, which is the one I was interested in, they did not have right now. I did the test drive and was told I would get a "code" from a 3rd party establishment for the $50 visa reward card and then need to give them the code to process the card. I did the test drive on a Thursday, received the code the next day on Friday and it said it expired the following day-Saturday. I alerted the salesperson, Maddy, that it would expire the next day. I was asked what the code was and told, "I will make sure it gets processed." 10 days later-nothing. I texted and told her I had not seen any reward card yet. No response. 7 days later. I text, "hello?" Her response, " Hello! I apologize I completely forgot to respond. We submitted your information to the company that promotes the reward cards, they don't come directly to our dealership. I'm assuming no sign of the card?" I replied, "correct." 6 weeks later and still no card and no more communication from the dealership. I texted, "What is the name of the company that does your promotions?" No response. Almost 1 month later...... I get a response from different person, Dennis, that said he could redeem my voucher and asked me for the code. Can you give a business negative stars on Yelp? Horrible, shady experience, gave feedback to Shannon at the dealership. Only thing that she did was share the feedback with the sales staff, who in turn retaliated with sky high pricing, ignored quote request for accessories, and refusal to quote Subaru corporate special for my next lease purchase. Along with new car pricing and trade in value not in line with Subaru brand. Shannon provided no reply to my list of issues. Next step, I escalated to the gm after not getting a response. He was dismissive and didn't address the problems or even reply. So a couple days later, I filled out my Subaru new car sale survey honestly and completely. After receiving my "anonymous" survey from Subaru, Kory at Camelback Subaru found the results to be contrary to what they had thought, having no clue on the happenings in the showroom or unethical sales practices. I gave them many opportunities to remedy the situation. They chose to ignore the issue completely, and said "we have decided to part ways as friends". At least now it's known camelback subaru steals from and manipulates those they consider their "friends". And let's not forget to mention the unethical coaching for the subaru corporate survey responses. Blatant and repeated mentions multiple times when signing and taking delivery. Every single time I've had to interact with this dealership whether it's sales or service they've been not upfront with me and wasted my time. They are not friendly they won't "take care of you" and they will not going to give you a good deal. It's absolutely worth the drive to go to a different dealership. Great service on my 2021 Outback. The original purchase was a good experience and the vehicle exceeds all expectations.

My wife took our Outback in for regular service in late June. When she returned home we realized the washer fluid light was on. Took the car back and was told the solenoid was probably bad and since none were in stock we would have to come back. We were going to be out of town for six weeks so said we would wait until we returned. Upon our return we contacted the service department, they ordered a solenoid and set up an appointment for it to be replaced. Went to Camelback Suburu at the appointed time only to be told that the solenoid had been sold the day before. The service writer was embarrassed and apologized, but that did not alleviate the fact that another wasted trip had been made. We will now have to make a fourth trip, all because a tech did not bother to check the warning lights when the initial service was performed. Frustrating, to say the least. read more

Where to begin!! Rebecca the service rep is great. Professional and knowledgeable. The service is terrible. I have gone to this dealership to buy three different Outbacks and have always gotten service there. Up until approximately two years ago it was always great. Now they don't seem to be able to fix anything and often break something else on the vehicle. When I take it back they fix what they broke, but I have spent so much time in the waiting room lately I am starting to feel like an employee. The windows have not worked right since I purchased this vehicle over seven years ago. They have changed out some parts, but usually just tell me they can't find the problem. Meanwhile I have windows that will not roll down. The last time I was in for a long stay to have service I walked around to look at what was new. It ended up with the sale manager telling me that the trade in value of my vehicle would be lower because the windows were not working!!! Wow, what a suprise. In June of this year, my car at the time broke down, so it was decided between my boyfriend and I that we should purchase a new vehicle, and we decided on a Subaru. We never went to this location, just looked online at a few options they had in stock, and filled out a few forms just requesting more information about certain cars they had on the lot. Ultimately we decided to use Bill Luke as they had exactly what we were looking for, so after we bought that car, I got a call from Camelback Subaru asking if I was still interested. I told them I was not and that I didn't need them to contact me again, and thank you. I started getting calls every now and then, to which I would tell them something along those lines: I'm not interested anymore/I've bought a different car/no need for a call back. Then I got text messages on July 5th from a salesperson who continued to ask if I was in the market for a vehicle/did I hear about the $3000 cash back deal they had going on, to which I replied asking them to not contact me further. He proceeded to ask if there was a different number I could be reached at, and I responded with the same thing. I didn't receive any more texts until yesterday, 10/28, and I AGAIN asked the sender to not contact me At this point my boyfriend and I called the dealership to complain as it was a nuisance. We were connected with the man who claims to have been sending me the messages, and as soon as we told him to please not contact us anymore, he hung up on us. It was rude, but we figured that would be the end of it. Cut to today, I received a call directly from the same man, that I didn't answer the first time as I was indisposed, and he then called right back. I answered, and he introduced himself as the man who spoke on the phone with us yesterday, so I hung up. I then continued to receive a total of 7 phone calls, from 3 different phone numbers. He used a different one after I blocked the first one, and so on. I then received messages from ABC Nissan, Camelback Ford Lincoln, and Showcase Honda, all of which were basically asking me to allow somebody to send me a message. Naturally I denied those requests. When my boyfriend called to complain about this flurry of calls and texts, he was hung up on multiple times. A pushy salesman is exactly what I wanted to avoid when purchasing a new car, and I thought that I had by going through Bill Luke. But Camelback Subaru harassing me for MONTHS after I bought my vehicle has been so ridiculous and uncalled for that I had to leave a review. Avoid this place at ALL COSTS. read more

Went into dealership to pay off lease. Subaru of America had quoted me a payoff amount but Camelback Subaru had added an additional $2899.70. Their quote showed additional fees for Basic Zaktek ($500) plus Interior Zaktec ($624) which was paid for when car was leased, plus $499 administration fee, $16.50 filing fee, plus $1.50 postage fee plus $10 registration fee, and a $4.00 title fee. We were told we needed to have Camelback Subaru inspect the car, only at their dealership, needed to re-register car and get new license plates, even though we had done that 3 weeks prior. 10/24/2020- do your research and check any other Subaru dealership before even stepping foot in this specific location because there's definitely a reason why no other Subaru dealership in the valley will work with them and we learned this the hard way today. Today was the third time we have step foot in this specific dealership. My husband has been working with the finance manager Korey on a deal for 2021 ascent. Korey was made aware prior to us coming in that we would be rolling over negative equity which he advised us was totally fine. Today we came in with the understanding everything was good to go with the out the door pricing being at $52,400 which was a little more then what we originally wanted for a limited model but it was understandable considering it's my negative equity (again they were advised and gave us an offer for the car of 22k when I owed 30k) We came in and and started doing all the paperwork even had a co signed on top of that and they ran our credit. They had me call Geico and move my insurance to that car, move all of my belongings into this car and get my kids ready to go. When at the end a different finance manager we were NOT working with approached me and let me know "we're going to need 5k down or we could put you with another finance company at a rate of 4.99%" (when I already qualified for the 1.9%!!!!! My husband has since called corporate and emailed BBB on this issue. Complete waste of an entire day which btw we had two small children with us. After all day going back and forth with them, exhausted and ready to leave I signed and left. After reviewing my purchase paperwork and seeing this was an optional add on for an additional $1200+ and "I am not obligated to purchase and it is not required for the sale of the vehicle" I called to speak to the finance manager to have it removed/refunded. I was thinking I was going to talk about something plugged into an OBD port in my car and I was immediately attacked by the general service manager for posting a comment on Facebook, looking for advice on what to do with my 2017 Sti , which after only two or three years of ownership had to have the entire block replaced. He was making so many derogatory comments about me, knowing my three-year-old was at the dealership as well, stating that he doesn't care if I am a single mom, I should be lucky and thankful that he replaced my block the first time even though it was covered under warranty, and then I asked to speak to his manager, and he refused to let me do so, and proceeded to call 911 on me. it was the most horrific, misogynistic, deplorable, disrespectful, and honestly scary situation I have ever been in. I bought my car at the dealership and a warranty and he is now refusing to fix my car ever again. Beware, because this man is a loose gasket waiting to explode on anyone that crosses his path. I have had a few minor issues with my Subaru and Grant at the service department has taken care of me each time. He is communicative, efficient, and transparent in pricing. Twice I have received complementary inspections and thorough diagnoses, with fair pricing on repairs. If things need fixing but aren't immediate concerns, they give me an estimated mileage before they recommend fixing it, allowing me to budget and plan and get second opinions. While other mechanics in the Valley make mistakes or try and scam or upsell me, I take my car to Camelback Subaru. read more

I had an 8:15 appointment for an oil change. It was the earliest appointment possible since they open at 8. My car wasn't even taken until I complained after 9AM. It took them until 9:45 to finish the oil change. That's pretty excessive. I paid and waiedt an additional 25 minutes for them to wash my car. (And to rub salt in the wounds, they missed spots on the car!) In retrospect, I wonder if they had lost my reservation since I had already created a profile over the phone, name, email, etc... and had to do that again when I got to the dealership. This has to be the worst dealership in the state. I bought my Subaru in Colorado in 2018. Had the nothing but the best experiences until I moved to Arizona in 2020. It started with maintenance. One of their representatives at Camelback Subaru told me I needed parts for my vehicle that it didn't require, costing a couple thousand dollars that I declined to have done to have a second look. After getting a second opinion it was in fact true I did not need the parts he was telling me I needed to get. Fast forward a couple years later to the beginning of 2024 my clutch was starting to give in my WRX so I revisited Camelback Subaru to see if maybe they could work something out with the warranty. My WRX needed a clutch and major service due to the mileage that was around $5,000-$7,000 to repair. The salesman informed me they needed WRXs and thought it was a good idea to trade it in. After lots of negotiating they sold me a 2022 GMC Canyon at a fair price, adding a warranty because I've had bad experiences with used vehicles in the past and GAP insurance. This was around $8,000 added to the price for both. In September 2024 I got into an accident with the truck I purchased from them. It took over 11 documents and 6 weeks later for their GAP insurer to pay the lien holder. Their GAP insurance did not cover the remaining money on the loan that they sold me FROM a bank they work with. I called the dealership multiple times explaining that the money remaining on the loan is from the GAP insurance and warranty i purchased from them. The finance manager was extremely rude and told me there is nothing they could do to help me. I now do not have the vehicle because it was totaled and am left to pay the remainder of the loan which was from buying their GAP insurance. DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE. My mother was in the car industry for 12 years and never saw this issue. They are extremely immoral and do not have their customers best interest in mind. read more

It's with great sadness that I am writing this review. I've taken my Subaru outback to this dealership for years. First my normal guy, Brandon, left the company. I took it in for a simple repair of bushings on the front end. Then I get a call that I needed new motor mounts and my brake routers needed to be replaced. Which by the way I just had my brakes replaced just 30,000 miles ago. A bill that should've been about $700 suddenly bloomed to $2500. I guess they didn't realize that this female has a husband that knows what he's talking about. The repairs suggested were bullshit. And sadly when I picked up my car and ask them about the cost they continued to bullshit about the real cost of the parts. I have taken my wife's Forester here for service since we bought it (from another dealer) over three years ago. A couple of days ago my wife took the car through a local Jiffy Lube to get a quick oil change instead of taking it to dealership, and they offered to rotate her tires for her. Well, they ended up snapping one of her lug studs, and then came back and told her that whomever worked on her car before must have stripped it, but she was fine to drive the car without having that lug nut fixed or secured. Luckily I found out about it before she drove it too much, and I immediately brought the car into the dealer to fix the stud and get a new lug nut. Andrew L. went the extra effort to have all the lugs checked and found three more that Jiffy Lube had stripped or broken and fixed all four of them for us at no cost. He had everything fixed and the car washed for me in about an hour. Rest assured that we won't be taking this car anywhere else for service, even oil changes. Don't get fooled that the dealership service is more expensive than other places. It really isn't and the customer service from people like Andrew makes it worth any differences. read more

I have my 4th Subaru and I lived in 3 different states, this dealership is by far the worst I had to deal with. I drive a lot and put a lot of wear and tear on my car. I came to replace control arm bushings and a transmission. When they replace control arm bushings they need to perform an alignment. They didn't. I had to keep my steering wheel turned right for the car to go straight. When I brought it back in 2 days they blamed me that I ran a pothole and screwed up my alignment. Transmission after installation was leaking fluid. Went to a different dealership where all these issues were fixed. Not coming back here. read more

I really wouldn't recommend getting your car serviced here. My subaru is a few years old and under 80,000 miles (important). I had some warning lights come on and had my codes ran which came back to my catalytic converters and ECM not performing correctly. Arizona has a law that if you're car is under 80,000 miles and these components are bad, the manufacturer HAS to replace them free of charge. So I bring my car in and they come back to me with a ridiculous quote. I laugh and say that no, this will be for free because of the state law, at which they realize that they can't steal my money this way. They said they needed to do a full diagnostic first to make sure nothing else was wrong. They come back with over $8,000 worth of repairs that I "have to get done". I don't buy it for one second. I take my car to SubiWorx in Tempe the next day with the list of all their "extremely important" repairs. The team there comes back and says that most of the stuff they're saying is bs and that my car only needs about $300-$400 worth of work done on it. Most repair shops, hell even other Subaru dealerships, will warn you about this specific service center. I'm only going to come to them in for the warrantied maintenance. I had the worst car buying experience (attempt) I've ever had last night. Paul Valentino, a car salesman told me over the phone there was no negotiation due to high demand so they were charging MSRP on the car. I agreed to that and drove 30 minutes to buy the Crosstrek. When got there and he ran paperwork, they added a 5000 dollar "market adjustment" to the car. I told him that was unacceptable, not only to lie but to do that and his only response was "so can you just not afford the car?" Paul also felt it necessary to use profanity and talk to me about very personal drama that I didn't feel comfortable hearing about. Yes Paul, I can absolutely afford the car, but I will never buy a car from you or anybody else at Camelback Subaru. EDIT: I called the number the response said, all they did was defend Paul and themselves, and made no effort to resolve the problem, Chandler has a far superior dealership with better customer service.
