At 0:30, returned to pick up my car-observed my car parked in the same spot I left it.. the hood popped up. Nobody called me for 1 1:2 hours. Ryan said, your car won't start. He said could be the battery.. I told him it is fairly new and I just had it recharged. I got into the glove compartment to find the receipt for the battery. I closed the doors on the car. Ryan came out of the office and satiated to me.. .. you need to get away from the car and stop closing the doors. I was actually just standing in front of my car. Yep, there is drama ahead of you if you are a female and dealing with Ryan. His approach was just offensive to me as a customer who has brought my car here several times. To think, I can't even stand by my car without this rude man looking at me so angrily. Another woman was not happy with Tyan either.. she had words with him and he refused to give her the keys to her car until she paid her bill. I could tell, there was plenty of drama there too and she said she was going to post her experience with Ryan on yelp. . This shop has been good to us over the years as we have both a Mercedes and BMW.. both over 10 years old. Maybe, customer service is a thing of the past?? Why did they leave me sitting nearby for 2 hours and not call me to tell me my car wouldn't start? Good customer service by Tanner but he offers poor communication, I no longer have the vehicle that they serviced over the course of 3 yrs I had the vehicle, by my last payment which was July of 2023:the car had issues again, I took it back to German Auto thinking they would help me and instead Tanner was useless only offering I attempt to get the ECU rebuilt or some crap, all he had to say was that maybe taking it to the dealer, maybe the ECU just needed a reflash? But after $8k paying for the car, $8k going to German Auto (transmission work, valve work,including ending in a motor swap as well), on my final payment I ended up trading it and going back to Japanese autos. $16k wasted but German Auto got paid, and the cheap finance company screwed me on the BMW so yea it's my fault on that end but German Auto at first they helped me out but I wouldn't recommend. I initially left a good review after the first job but I later discovered German Auto only fixes the problem at hand but they will not tell you if you're having other issues. My daughters car is a 2007 ML 350. She had been having trouble with the battery for a couple of months. She went to all of her friends & coworkers for advice, and was told that any repairs would be $2000-3000. I respectfully gave them a chance to make it right and after telling me they would contact me and make it right, they never got back to me or refunded me for anything. I paid over $1K for services I didn't request or need. To top it off their work on my vehicle included ZIP TIES....When I called the first time and explained this they seemed embarrassed and shocked and told me they would make it right. They never did. The original issue with my car was never fixed even though I paid over $1k, $700 of which was labor. $700 to zip tie something. Imagine that. I am understanding and always give someone a chance to make it right. They promised to do so and then never got back to me. Unfortunate way to run a business. Went in for routine maintenance on my 2017 E350 with 71,000 miles on it. Always maintain my car at Mercedes using recommended schedule. This time I decided to save a few bucks and go here. Huge mistake. Ended up getting talked into replacing wheel sway bars. Routine maintenance ended up costing me $1800. A few days after I could hear a metallic rattling when going over bumps. I took it back and they claimed to not hear. I even took them on a ride I could clearly hear but the tech denied hearing it!!!!!! This place is a rip off. Been coming to German auto service for 15 years on seventh Street and always have had extremely good service. Today I called because my battery light was coming on intermittently. I asked if they could hook the battery up and tell me if it is dying . This would take maybe five minutes. The gentleman who answered the phone said they could not squeeze me in. Brought my 18 year old SL500 Mercedes in here, due to mostly 5 star Yelp reviews! Once again, picked a winner. With great trepidation, I turned over the keys to my youngest child, not knowing what to expect. A/C not blowing cold, and running intermittently. This is a very complex system with sensors, multiple fans and settings, and high pressures. Within a couple of hours, technician found a bad fan clutch, replaced, and told me it was ready to go. Had them do an oil change as well. Reasonable price, no jerking around, and Mike explained everything to me in detail! Drove to Buckeye and back in perfect cool comfort. read more

The recent one star reviews are no surprise nor mistake. I have a second home in Phoenix and a 2014 Mercedes C250 at the house that I drive when I am here. The car had been in twice before to this place for minor issues and it was fine. Well, there is a rattle in the left driver side dash that needed to be fixed. Took it in. They said they could fix it. Paid $371 to be fixed. Paperwork says clearly "found noise and fixed." Drive car 15 minutes later. Same noise. There has only been one noise. Ever. It's my car. I would know. Take car back. Ask them to fix it. Tell them if they can't to tell us and we would prefer to go to dealer. They have car for ten days. Yes, ten. Thankfully I was out of town for this time - or most of it, but not all. They break clips when they take dash off and have to order new ones. More delays. I call. The guy goes on about this being in the steering column. It was never in the steering column. Maybe something was, but not this noise. You know, the one the paperwork states they "fixed," but that was there the same day we picked the car up minutes later. I explain the working that we had a contract - for German Auto to fix the problem and for me to pay for those services. It was agreed upon. I paid, they didn't deliver. They claim they did. So they can either agree to give me my $371 back for failing to fulfill the contract and we may do business again if we can leave it in a decent note since they are close to my house -- or not and leave me out the money, violate the contract for failing to do something they claim they did, and ai will charge it back, never go there again, tell everyone I know in the Valley why, and maybe even escalate from there. It's a simple choice for them over $371 and tells me everything I will need to know about the kind of business they are.... The guy proceeds to tell me - or try to tell me about the rattle, that he can't give me my money back, etc. Clearly they made ten choice over $371 about what kind of business they wanted to be. The guy never bothered to tell me he wasn't a mechanic either. Clearly led me to believe he was on the call. My friend goes to get the car -- he tells her that he "got an earful" from me, but that he agreed with me and I was right ... because, well, I was. And I wasn't rude. Just right. Oh, and he isn't even a mechanic. He is a service writer. Nice. And they don't even have someone working there who could give a refund if he wanted to. Or at least that's what he told my friend. So either he lied to her. Or they don't empower their people. Or they don't care about relationships and righting wrongs.... when they keep your car for ten days, break clips on your days and can't put it back together, when all you wanted was a simple isolated single rattle fixed. A rattle I gladly would have paid twice as much to have fixed the first time by a competent shop. Lesson learned = just go to the dealer. This place is a disaster. read more

On October 3rd I brought my Audi into the shop with the complaint that the car is vibrating while idling. Communication was poor; nobody could tell me what the diagnosis was in a timely manner. I waited around for hours with no update. Left the car there until the 16th. 13 days. Extremely inconvenient. Technicians replaced engine mounts. This work did not repair the problem. I was charged $1931 for labor and part replacement that were unnecessary and didn't resolve the issue I brought the car in for. My car is doing exactly what it was before I brought it into the shop! I should not have to pay for a service that wasn't rendered. I'd like to recover what I paid in the form of a refund or actually fixing the problem that is causing the vibrating. read more

I left my '89 Mercedes 300CE here for a week while on a trip to FL to get it gone over with a fine tooth comb as it was stalling out in drive, the AC had no air flow plus transmission was slipping a bit from 1st into 2nd and it needed some of the freeze plugs in the block replaced. I returned to a $2,500 bill and the car still stalling out (and no possible clue offered as to why), the AC fan replaced so it was blowing volume but the system was not pressure tested or recharged so blowing hot air in Phoenix In July was BS. Overall I was VERY DISSATISFIED with the service and I have since found a great mechanic at a corner gas station who whipped it into shape for 25% the charge of these bozos. I had a service scheduled three days ago. I called prior to going in and asked if everyone is wearing masks. I was told that they are. I went to the shop and before I went inside I observed both a UPS delivery person and a customer going in with masks on. Meanwhile I saw several mechanics walk by without masks. The service advisors at the desk were also maskless. I called from my car and said I that I had been told that everyone was wearing masks. The employee said that they put them on when there are customers This was not what I witnessed and I cancelled my appointment. We have someone in our family who has an immune system disease and are being very careful. I am upset because I wasted my time going there.
