Eggplant biscuit is delicious. Appropriately buttery biscuit but not too much and well balanced. Tasty piece of eggplant. Best heated. I had the specials of squash something latte and honey pear matcha latte. Honey pear was lovely and the squash doesn't overemphasize the squash. I would probably be okay with overemphasis but many others probably would not be. Staff is friendly. Booth Seating with cushion combining two separate seats was a bit awkward because it is too easy for two strangers to accidentally put each other off balance. I really want to give this place 5 stars but this was a bit too much for me to witness my new friend experience. Despite this small annoyance, I would still come back if in the area. read more

FDC and I were enjoying a spectacular fall weekend day in Lansdowne. We visited the farmer's market, then decided to stop at Camellia for a snack before venturing further down the "ave". Camellia was perfect. They had some small cafe tables on the broad sidewalk, nestled under heady trees. People were chatting, a few antique cars rolled down the street, dogs in leashes accepted head scratches. FDC said if reminded her of fall days in Brooklyn. I got the caprese sandwich & hibiscus iced tea. FDC opted for a limonata soda & water. You order inside at their counter & wait for your name to be called. Everything was nice, the caprese was fresh & warm. My one issue was with the staff: tigers were three people behind the counter, all involved in various activities: making espresso and teas, sandwiches, register, etc. They seemed overwhelmed and it felt a bit chaotic. My sandwich came out, but no iced tea. That took another 10 mins. I would have expected the opposite: drinks first then food. I would stop by again, though id get a bottled drink instead of something made. read more

Stopped in for lunch, about $15 for a sandwich and hibiscus strawberry lemonade. I loved the lemonade it's was tart and floral! The prosciutto sandwich was warm, crispy, with a fresh salty bite . Service was quick. I didn't realize there were other shops if you walk back through the dining area! Very cool fun relaxing environment. Only two people were working so it makes sense but there could have been better house keeping tables were dirty but that's my only complaint! read more

Some friends and I stayed in the area for our Philly pit stop and decided to grab coffee on the way out. We found this place on yelp with a couple reviews but looks like they had food and coffee which I needed. Such a cute shop with plenty of indoor seating to lounge and do work. It is also dog friendly! We saw a couple patrons and pups walk in. Loved the vibes indoors. The baristas were super friendly and gave great recommendations. There were pastries as well as hot food items. We went with some pastries like chocolate croissant and a egg tart! As well as a breakfast sandwhich and a breakfast biscuit. We were such big fans of the breakfast! Highly recommend the breakfast biscuit. Coffee wise they had a wide range. we had a strawberry matcha and a iced vanilla latte. I would personally skip the matcha, its not bad but I think I may have been spoiled with good matcha back in LA. The latte was super yummy! Found out that they made their syrups in house which made me more excited to try their house made vanilla. If you're ever in town stop by!! read more

This was a nice place to enjoy coffee with my husband and sit and their back area and chat. One of their seasonal lattes featured squash and I have to say it was pretty good. The chai was even better though, and my goodness the warm biscuit with apricot jelly was delicious. Loved that towards closing they offered buy-one-get-one pastries and having recently bough coffee downtown, I can appreciate the moderate pricing of the beverages. Before I start my praises, I'm just going to go ahead and say at the person who gave the lowest 2 star review. It is 100% wrong but you know personal taste... Only downside was the music was way too loud to be honest. The place don't have enough seating due to it being a SMALL store so there's much one can can do, eh? This is the ONLY coffee place like this around the area so I'm very thankful that at least one exist, or you might as well be happy with a Dunkin Donuts visit. The sandwiches and pastries are awesome. I have nothing to complain but specially the pastel de nata, incredible! I heard many costumers complimenting the food quite a few times when I was there, I recently discovered this place because of my friend and I've been coming here since then. They also recently expanded the store so the place has another bigger sitting area and I'm very glad to have a coffee like this near me. I will say I hope they have some outdoor seating so I can hopefully bring my fur animals on a sunny day. read more

Tiny coffee shop. We took our order to go, the seats were not the most comfortable. Staff was so nice and welcoming. The menu was so intiguing. I had the a Squash Latte and enjoyed it very much. I couldn't pass.on the eggplant egg sandwich except they couldn't source the eggplant that day and replaced it with zucchini. It was delicious anyway. I do recommend this place but suggest to plan to take it to go. read more

I was around the area and was excited to try this spot out! I was disappointed with the service here. The lady barely acknowledged me and I thought I had to use the iPad to order for myself. I later found out I wasn't supposed to touch it but didn't know until I asked a question and the lady seemed annoyed with me. I completely understand if people are exhausted or tired, I wish there was better communication. I ordered and enjoyed the Portuguese dessert. read more

I have been coming in and out of Lansdowne for literal decades, but only discovered Camellia's when I was here in June. What a delight! The eggplant biscuit was the first thing I tried and it was really lovely for breakfast with a Indian tomato-based sauce. Since that first visit, I have had an egg and cheese biscuit, as well as some egg custards. All were very tasty indeed. Their coffee is good as well. It is on the small side with counter service with about 5 tables inside and an additional 3 outside. It would be nice to sit outside, but the times that I was there, the traffic on Lansdowne Ave was sufficiently busy as to not make for a very relaxing meal. read more

This was an amazing breakfast sandwich - eggplant and spicy lonsa tomato sauce on a lovely fluffy biscuit. The coffee of the day was a tasty Thai variant. This is clearly a comfortable local establishment with folks who know each other coming in and out. The pain au chocolate was also delicious! Would definitely recommend! read more

I desperately wish I could give this place a great review. They are relatively new to Lansdowne and god knows we NEED a coffee shop in our area. Unfortunately my experiences have been mid at best and in some cases quite bad. There is minimal seating and it is NOT comfortable. So if you're looking for a cozy place to settle in with a coffee or laptop and a book, this isn't it. The coffee is just fine. There's nothing good OR bad about it. It's totally average. The employees are quite friendly, which is great. The pastries are good. Not great but better than the dry crap at a major chain. The food items however are abysmal. I have had two occasions to try proper food here. On one occasion I ordered the Caprese sandwich; on another more recent visit, the seasonal autumn veggie sandwhich (which is not reflected on their online menu but seems to be a variation of the Caprese.) In both cases they were *FLAVORLESS*. The pesto? No flavor. The focaccia? No flavor. On the latter sandwhich the veggies - beets, cauliflower etc... - NO flavor, and severely undercooked. They also appear to have been frozen and then had to be warmed up, and upon being given to me the first time were still nearly frozen in the center and quite cold all around. Until they learn to utilize actual spices and flavor in their food, the best I can suggest is that you grab a quick coffee and pastry to go if you aren't able to stop anywhere else. Camellia's was a great surprise. The coffee was really solid and all of the food that my wife and I tried was super. I couldn't believe that everything here was homemade and was so well-priced. We both found it to be very comfortable and spent several hours getting some work done. Would definitely recommend Camellia's for their coffee, the food, and the kind servers. read more

I really enjoyed the espresso and the chocolate chip cookie I had. They had a small pastry selection and small menu, all the items looked fresh and well made, the chocolate chip cookie was fantastic, I could have eaten three. The cappuccino was very good, I could tell it was high quality espresso. The only criticism I have of it would be the milk could have been steamed a little bit longer, because the foam layer was thin so it was more like a latte. That being said, I would still order it again. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I felt welcome. They were prompt, and I got my food and drink very quickly. I think the ambiance could use a little work. The place is small so there isn't room for a lot of seating but what they have is not comfortable. I was there to do some school work and I just wasn't very comfortable. I also felt the music was loud as it was such a small space, it kind of made it hard to work or have a conversation. That's an easy fix though. The bathroom is large and very clean. That area needed a nice place like that, I'd recommend it. Not great for a big group but good to get work done or meet a friend or two. read more
