Wow, did I love this place! This area, at least to me is not one known for good coffee or breakfast. Based on a Yelp friend's enjoyment of this spot I ventured there. It's in the burbs and we burbites kinda expect parking but as it is in that huge circle known as 69th street Terminal area they do not have a lot. Do not let that dissuade you. I found a free spot in a residential neighborhood in back and there is municipal parking across the street for $.25. I visited on a very cold January day in search of breakfast with good coffee. As you enter you see the very comfortable and pretty seating to the left and right. Right in the center towards the back wall is where the magic happens. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. I had a wonderful breakfast sandwich and great coffee for under $8. They also had a very reasonable daily special posted. I decided to eat upstairs and wound up staying an hour in that beautifully paneled room that reminded me of a mansion library. What a calming place to relax. And a local newspaper has called Five points " A Jolt of Inspiration in Upper Darby " because they not only serve as a coffee house but they also aid in helping marginalized people. I have a new job nearby and was scoping out the different spots. I ended up circling back as I felt I had to check this place out! Such a cute and welcoming cafe. The employees were friendly and patient as I tried to decide what to order. I got a small iced latte with english toffee flavor and a California turkey sandwich. They have SO many flavors for coffee- some pretty unique. My latte was smooth and thankfully the flavoring was not too sweet! The sandwich was fresh, large, and came with a yummy pickle. I also love that they have multiple bread options. This is a clean, well lit, and friendly place and I will definitely be back! I love the map that has pins for where the patrons are from- such a nice touch. Check this place out- it's delicious drinks/food and warm atmosphere won't disappoint. read more

For those of you who don't know...Five Points is closed until further notice (they closed at the end of July 2023). They haven't closed their doors for good, and I hope that they don't. I'm sad because I was looking forward to trying this place for the coffee, atmosphere, and quiet workspace! I'm giving it 3 stars because this gem in Upper Darby came highly recommended. Excellent cafe. This is exactly what you want by the train/trolley. Fresh food. Nice staff. Spacious. And CLEAN. They have a breakfast special, it's worth every penny. The lemon cake is very delicious ! There espresso is not bad but I would necessary come again for it unless I'm near by. It had an after taste of nutty flavor, like green coffee beans, and good coffee at these time lol (I know... It's a weird combo to have, good and a bad espresso at the same time) I don't know what to make of it precisely, but I know I would try to come again unless, like a wrote previously I'm very nearby The service and the place itself are on the great side of things, friendly and with positive attitude and go out of their way to make people feel comfortable. My new favorite coffee shop! The look and feel of the coffee shop is great!. The moroccan touch and artwork give this place a fresh and international feel. I got the cappuccino, which was delicious, chocolate and blackberry undertones mmmmm. I just bit into the baklava whilst writing this review. It is really good. Oh yes, they have free Wifi! I can see my self getting a lot of work and community accomplished here. Upstairs there is a flatscreen TV and some couches, and I hear that soccer gatherings will be a staple especially as countries are qualifying ahead of the 2013 World Cup. 5 Points is a Coffee Shop in Upper Darby. Its across from the Township Building and is about three blocks from the 69th Street Terminal. The interior is warm with staff that is conversational and welcoming without being overbearing. The downstairs is well laid out with tables healthily proportioned and news and other adornments in the coffeeshop. There is a den upstairs that's a great place to study and have community meetings. They have a good menu that operates well with the restaurants around it: coffee, tea, homemade cookies and sweets are perfect for a pick-me-up or a sly indulgence. There is a Mexican bakery two doors down with an Ecuadorian restaurant next to that. There is a Mexican restaurant one block away and smaller international groceries within walking distance. 5 Points is prefect for a quick coffee, a pause or a study day with hearty refueling nearby. I'm thankful for this place, will ping-pong between here and the Mexican bakery (which is cash only as of 11/21) and hope these businesses remain staples in the Upper Darby community. read more

Another great coffee shop, this one located in the Upper Darby neighborhood area outside of Philly. The shop has two floors, the first one with the shop and several tables and the second floor mainly reserved for table seating and quieter tasks like studying and smaller meetups. It even has a fireplace, which is useful in cold weather like those fall & winter days. The coffee here is great. The shop uses beans from Elixir, which is another local Philly coffee shop favorite. The syrups are also really good. The chai here is really nice, too. Smooth & consistent. They also have a small selection of small eats & pastries. I'd definitely go for a sandwich if you're hungry, as they are freshly made & hearty/filling. In general, this is a great neighborhood coffee shop. We stopped in for their breakfast special, which was a bagel sandwich with egg and cheese and a 12oz coffee for 3.95. This was actually my second time here and the first time I was admittedly not impressed. I'd purchased a chai latte, but it tasted strangely like... milky apple cider with cinnamon? The taste wasn't bad but it was certainly not was I was expecting so I was a little disappointed. Not this time! I really enjoyed the sandwich and the Moroccan Mint tea I drank with it. I also thought the special was great! The woman at the desk was a little deadpan but good-humored. We dined in and the table was clean-- as were all the tables around us. A great spot in the heart of Upper Darby, Steve and company are incredibly friendly and know their coffee. The true test of a solid coffee shop is the taste of their house roast unadorned, and Five Points roast is near perfect, a little bitter edge which I love, and strong as the El as it gets going after 63rd! I came inside here based off past reviews. The location of this place isn't ideal however its not a deal breaker. I found parking around the corner, which wasn't bad. I walked in and their were a few other customers inside. The gentlemen working behind the counter was professional and friendly and helped me pick out my order. I ordered a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee. The woman behind the counter (I think the owner) didn't seem in the best of moods and just got a bad vibe from her but maybe she was having an off day. There is an upstairs but I didn't venture upstairs to check it out. There was plenty of seating on the first floor for me to relax in. I would come here again for sure, I think they should put some music on in the background. I think that might help the place out a bit, but just a suggestion. This is a great independent coffee house. They have excellent house coffee, single pours, espresso, and milkshakes. They also have soup & sandwiches, but I've only had this once. The pastries are mostly in-house and Holly makes amazing chocolate chip cookies. Also, you couldn't ask for a better place to work, study, or chat. I stopped in here for a cup of coffee and a light breakfast with a friend after visiting another local business. The coffee here is very good and fresh. The breakfast sandwich was quite large as it appears to have two freshly scrambled eggs and two slices of cheese. Carnivores Beware !!! This place only has turkey bacon so my dining partner opted out of the bacon impersonator. The chocolate croissant was not made in house but was ok with plenty of chocolate. Service was passable. We were clearly newcomers and were treated as outlanders especially in comparison to the "regulars." No one was rude, but considering the location and lack of parking, I would expect better. read more
