This is a review for my recent tour here. I just wanted to give a shout out to the leasing office staff as they were so friendly & down to earth when I went here for my tour. I really could see myself living here for that reason. I ultimately decided that it's a little too off the beaten path for me, but the staff really seemed great. Also a turn off was the package room- people have access to every package- I order online frequently so definitely didn't like that. Another con was that all of the move in fees seemed ridiculous in proportion to what you actually get here. It seems the company is pocketing a lot of money. Have lived here 1.5 yrs and nothing has improved. Apartment grounds are always filthy. Apartment is outdated for what you pay to include a bunch of hidden fees on top of your base rent. They have started charging you to have guests at the pool on top of your $400 amenity fee (why doesn't the amenity fee cover this) and you're only allowed 2 guests. $400 Amenity fee covers gym and the pool that's only open a few times out of the year I guess. Gate is always broken. 0/10 would not recommend. Only upside is location but there are other apartments that offer way more and are updated. Gate is always broken. Mailroom is small, a complete hot mess and unorganized. Packages are constantly left outside of the leasing office and even the gate to be stolen. read more

Could not pay me to live here! I waited until I moved out to write this, as the staff was so consistently mean that I feared retaliation from them for being honest. From the beginning, when asked a question everyone is mad at you for being there. They act like it's an inconvenience that you exist. If there is a maintenance issue, might as well learn to fix it yourself. They constantly close tickets the day they are put in without being addressed. They didn't fix our AC all summer, even though I contacted them every single week. They do not care that they are breaking the lease agreement. Apartment temperatures reached 90 degrees and they still wouldn't come. When they finally "fixed" it, they turned off the hot water in the process. It took 4 months to get AC back, and they only took action once I pointed out their negligence and criminal activity. They also charged us for not having renters insurance, when we did. When brought up to them, they refused to respond. There is an option to pay a fee to only lightly clean when moving out, this somehow to "lost" and never made it into the system after we submitted it. That is the intentional retaliation that was previously mentioned. CAR BREAK INS ARE COMMONPLACE! One of our cars and multiple other residents have their cars broken into. The gates do not work properly, so you are paying for a gated community when the gate is wide open! Save yourself the headache and don't even consider this place! read more

Feedback on Recent Community Tour I recently had the opportunity to tour the community, and I wanted to provide some feedback regarding my experience. Upon arrival, I was informed by Stephanie, another leasing consultant, that my assigned consultant had not yet arrived for my scheduled appointment. While I understand that unforeseen delays can occur, I was disappointed by the lack of timeliness and communication regarding the change in my appointment for Brittney to be late. Nd no apology given for it. But that's neither here nor there. It is what it is. I have a schedule for my day and wanted to be on time to my other appointments. That's all. Regarding the overall condition of the community, I noticed several areas that require attention. The grounds had significant dirt accumulation, with insufficient grass coverage. The trees need trimmed back, and the stairs leading to the apartments were visibly dirty. Additionally, the railings on the stairs appeared neglected, and several steps showed cracks or chips. No safe!!! When touring the apartment units, I observed that the condition of the interiors was below expectations for an apartment showing. The apartment doors were notably dirty, with broken seals at the bottom of the thresholds. The doors themselves did not appear secure, and there were no deadbolts only a standard key entry, which raised concerns about not being secured doors and the slamming of others and their door with the way they close. Several maintenance issues were apparent, such as poor paint jobs in all apartments shown, a missing bathtub cap not the drain but just below the tub faucet, poor tub reseal job, dog hair on the washer and dryers, and grills on the stoves that had not been properly cleaned. The blinds were also covered in dust and grime. My leasing consultant, Britney, mentioned that these issues fell outside of her department but acknowledged that the units were not ready for showing. None of the apartments I saw today appeared to be in move-in condition. In terms of the apartment layouts, I found the units to be quite small, with bedrooms offering minimal space and only one window per room. The absence of elevators, with all units accessed via stairs, may be an inconvenience for some prospective residents. One of the units also exhibited signs of water damage on the walls, which had been poorly repainted. When I inquired about this, the response was vague and did not offer reassurance that proper inspections or maintenance were conducted prior to the showing. Although I did not observe an over amount of pests during my visit, but yes they are there. I was concerned about the overall level of maintenance and the lack of attention to detail in the property. The community grill I touched and saw appeared unstable and was in poor condition, which I noted as potentially unsafe. In addition, the package room lacked organization, with packages placed haphazardly on the floor, despite the presence of cameras. There were no lockers or clear organizational systems in place for deliveries, which could be a potential area for improvement. On a positive note, Britney, my leasing consultant, was ok. She took the time to answer all of my questions and offered water at the end of the tour. Her professionalism was appreciated, though the condition of the property itself left much to be desired. Based on my visit and after reading the reviews from current residents, I would agree with many of the concerns expressed in those reviews. It seems that maintenance and cleanliness are ongoing issues, and the property does not meet the standards one might expect for a move-in ready unit. In over a month of having a lease here, we have had a functioning kitchen light for 9 days. They said 2 days ago someone would be here "tomorrow" to fix the light again. My husband called around 3pm today and they said someone would be over shortly. They never showed. Now it's 6pm on a Friday and I get to spend another weekend being unable to see what I am cooking. Is this complex gonna pay for Doordash? What if I burn myself? I'm already disabled and prone to burning myself in the best of circumstances. This is ridiculous. Lived at Cameron court for most of 24. I do not recommend it. Eisenhower area offers better maintained apartments at much better prices. Good: -Location. Quick access to 95. Dash bus routes. Metro 15min walk. Wegmans, CVS, Starbucks, etc in proximity. 2miles from Old town. -Units have lamination floors, new countertops, disposal, in unit washer/dryer. -No serious crime. You might get your package stolen or your car scratched but you're not likely to get shot. Bad: -Everything listed below is a reflection of poor management. I only had to deal with them twice in 12 months. They will give you the world when youre about to sign the lease, but after that they have you. -Over priced. -Close to railroad tracks - trains are loud but they also use their horns throughout the night. Trains also shake the building. -Water smells bad. -Washer/dryer units are 20+ yrs old and nasty. -Parking is very limited and not enforced. They keep it like that so you pay extra to reserve a spot. -Lots of pets, not a lot of space to walk them. Pet waste rules are not enforced and tenants not picking up pet waste is very very common. -Bugs. 2nd floor and we had roaches from time to time. We paid pest control fees but not sure if they used it accordingly. -Gas oven. You can smell the leaks walking around the buildings from time to time. We didn't have any leaks inside thankfully. -Maintenance is only helpful on simple issues like changing air filters. read more

This complex is a nightmare. I first moved in just over two years ago, and things were good, for a while. Then the hot water went out, and I put in a maintenance request to get it fixed. They sent a guy out to fix it, and while doing so, he broke a water main without noticing he'd done so. After the repair was over, they turned the water back on without checking for leaks, and flooded my apartment, doing about 15k in damage to my belongings. I lost hundreds of books, family photos that can't be replaced, expensive camera equipment and much more. After draining the water, the unit begins to rot from the inside, with mold spores that inflicted migraines. It was like pulling teeth to even get responses out of the management, and each promised deadline to fix the situation passed without resolution. Finally, after dozens of emails and personal pleas, I had to involve corporate. Corporate managed to get me moved into a new unit and offered to credit the moving crew costs (about 2k) against my first month's rent. I agreed. Come the first of the month, no rent credit was applied and I was billed for the full amount. They tell me they are sorry, and they cannot possibly refund me the amount of the overbill, they'll just sort it out the following month. I replied that this is not acceptable, and am forced to escalate to corporate once again. After hours of fighting, I get them to refund the overbill. A few months later, in the new unit, the air conditioning goes out (in the heat of the VA summer). It takes days to get them out to fix it. It goes out again less than a week later. I was planning an out of town trip for a week, and told them to please have it fixed when I return. The manager gives me his personal word that it will be, and gives me his personal phone number so I can contact him with any concerns. When I arrive back from the trip, the AC is still broken and its over 90 degrees in my apartment. I call the manager, he blocks my number to avoid interruptions to his weekend. Days later, the A/C is finally fixed (right as summer is ending). As it gets cold, the heat goes out and it gets down to around 40 in the apartment (qualifying as a maintenance emergency under the landlord's policy). They apologize, but it will still be days before they can get around to it. They ask me to "be reasonable" because there are "other maintenance requests open too." Days later, the heat is finally fixed. This brings us to the present. Earlier this week (Thursday morning), another water main broke, under my unit's floor. They turned the water off to stop the flooding, and I got 24 hours without water (while the units below me were flooding). Friday afternoon a plumber shows up and begins cutting holes in my walls (8 in total). They find the leak and fix it (it wasn't even in my unit), and leave with trash bags taped over the holes in my walls. This morning (Sunday) my downstairs neighbor knocked on my door and asked if the maintenance closet in my unit was leaking because the ceiling under it had collapsed in her unit. Turns out, my water heater was leaking (badly, inches of standing water on the floor around the pan). Maintenance came out and they turned off my water again. This time, they say it can't be fixed until Tuesday, given that it is a holiday weekend (MLK day) and they are short-staffed. I asked them to call a private crew out and get it fixed, so I can flush my toilets, do dishes, etc. Maintenance called the management team, and they rejected the idea because it would cost too much. My water is still off, now for the second time in 3 days. Steer clear of this complex, it's seriously a nightmare, and it's not even a cheaper place to live. Low quality meets high cost. The first mistake I made was moving in here, and the second was staying after they flooded my first unit. Seriously cannot emphasize enough how bad the management is. To compound issues, the appliances and apartments are low quality though they look nice, so they break super often and need fixing, which takes weeks to get done. It's a major source if stress to live here, not worth the cost at all. read more

Worst place I have ever lived. I have lived here 5 years and the management change 6 months ago finally made me leave. They don't answer the phone, or emails. They tell you they will provide maintenance and then no one ever shows up, even if you talk to them in person multiple times. They up the rent each year but the apartments are slowly getting unlivable. You pay for amenities that don't work, or aren't open most of the year. The gate, package room, and office are broken or never open. The emergency maintenance is never on site so get used to doing your own repairs for water leaks. They pick up trash sometimes even though it's an additional fee they force you to pay, and it's supposed to be 5 days a week. There is never parking because they don't monitor it at all and don't care if they run out of space. Basically choose anywhere else to live. read more

Horrible experience from the very first day. I show up excited on my move-in day and walk into a filthy uncleaned apartment (dirty shower, kitchen, etc.), with several things already broken/missing like the sink drain stoppers, and the valet trash can that's supposed to be provided. The management staff apologized and said they forgot to schedule a cleaning service before my move in, so they asked me if it was okay if I could delay my move in for a couple of days and they would waive the 2 days from my first months rent. Luckily I was in no rush so I let it go. Around comes rent day and I see a full month of rent was charged without the 2 days they said would be waived, and never saw it to this day. Not a good first impression. Over the course of living there for over a year, I was plagued with maintenance issues that required me to call back maintenance 2-3+ times per issue because the job wasn't done well enough and would end up breaking again within a few days. My water heater broke and was replaced (over a week later in the winter), but they left the old water heater on my balcony for over a month until I finally called them back to get them to remove it. Separately, my apartment flooded on several occasions due to some leak from the upstairs neighbor. No one answers the emergency maintenance calls so I had to stay up all night with a bucket to catch and dump the water until the morning. Come move out day, I am slammed with an absurdly high $1000+ move out fee because I was unable to provide the full 60 day move out notice for personal reasons to which I tried to explain several times beforehand to which no one would hear me out. I have been here for a couple of months and I have been quite disappointed living here, they do a poor job of maintaining and cleaning the property. The package room is too small for the size of the community, the packages are not where they are supposed to be and I am basically constantly looking for my packages. The back gate leading to Mill Road always seems broken and it is nearly impossible to get a maintenance request complete. If they do show up, they do half the job and say it is complete. I have put in tickets and have gone to the leasing office for maintenance requests, and they are a no show so if you are thinking of living, I would think twice before signing the lease. read more

Updated review: In December of 2020,  Cameron Court abruptly (zero notice) changed from a Bozutto property to a Brookfield property. I could tell from day #1 that there was no transition plan put in place and it hasn't been good here at all since Bozzuto left. 1. The first thing I noticed was the package delivery room. The transition happened over the holidays and we weren't getting the usual notification that packages had arrived in the delivery room. This made for a big mess as far as trying to find packages because there were alot of packages being delivered over the holidays. I actually didn't find all my packages until about February. To Brookfield's credit they did try and get the package room up and running but until this day, it isn't completely functional. 2. The trash and bulk item area is horried most of the time. I think insufficient staffing has alot to do with this problem. 3. Constant change in personal and management. Brookfield has only been the owners for 7 months and I promise you, management/leasing staff has changed atleast 3 times. Zero continuity. Believe it or not, those weren't my deal breakers. Here's what's breaking the deal for me and why I'm moving out of the apartment I LOVE in August... 1. I went on vacation for 3 weeks  between the end of May and the beginning of June. Within that time I had maintenance come in to fix my air conditioner. Upon arriving back home, my door wasn't shut properly and left open (not unlocked but OPEN). I initially though someone may have broken in BUT all of my thing were in place when I came in to inspect. This leads me to strongly believe it was negligence on part of maintenance staff. This put my safety and security at risk. 2. Since April I've been being charged about $180 per month for water and sewer. Under Bozzuto my bill ranged from $35-40 per month. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and I am the only person using water. Mind you I was gone for 3 weeks between May and June. I'm still being charged that rate on my July bill!!   I've approached 3 sets of manager about the water and sewer bill issue and to there credit they have credited me back some of the money I've been overcharged BUT I still feel as if I'm probably being charged $60 too much. I was told by one of the prior managers that there were some bad meters on the property but no one is actually doing anything about it. Also, I have to speak to someone new every month about the same issue over and over with no resolution. I called our current manager on Monday and was told that I would get a call back today (Friday) with a resolution and it DIDN'T happen. I LOVE my apartment but due to the ever revolving staff, security concerns, and lack of reliability from management. I CANNOT stay here any longer. I think everyone that has been in the leasing office could mean well and it may not be their fault. I feel as though Brookfield had NO transition plan and it's lead to staff being in over their heads leading to the last couple months being a complete mess all the way around. read more

I admit when management changed the first 3-6 months were tough. And it was a problem on both sides. Our former management team left some things undone and Bozzuto came in overwhelmed and unprepared. But there is a new management team doing everything to make this community better. New processes for the mail area, better trash pickup around the community, great maintenance team and even supportive and helpful when medical issues get in the way of normal processes like picking up your mail, and more. It's my 4th year here and I'm planning on staying. read more

WARNING: LONG REVIEW ALERT - THIS REVIEW IS SOLELY ABOUT MY LEASING EXPERIENCE NOT THE PROPERTY ITSELF: If you are looking for the most overtalking, non-responsive, non-solution seeking leasing agent with no concern for your housing needs, then be sure to stop in and ask for Brittany. She has a "pleasant" demeanor but is HORRIBLE at this job and should probably seek another career. READ ON IF YOU WANT TO HEAR MY EXPERIENCE.... My daughter and I viewed a property on 5/27 completed the application, uploaded financial documents, paid the $600, & received an automatic approval on 5/28 for a 6/15 move in. On 5/29, I sent Brittany an email explaining that my daughter was going on vaca & to please let me know asap if we are missing any docs because she will have limited internet access (no response). I also called the office, spoke with someone asking the same thing. He looked in the system, said he saw the approval as well as the docs. He stated that Brittany was working on leases for 6/1 but would reach out shortly. "Don't be alarmed, we have plenty of time before June 15th." When did Brittany reach out? NEVER! On 6/13, I'm alarmed. I stop in the office @ 11am & it's a ghost town in there. A guy who seemed to be just "babysitting" the office said he'd let Brittany know that I stopped in. @ 3:30pm, We get a welcome letter with next steps like uploading renter's insurance, cutting on the utilities, etc....We start calling the utilities and guess what they said? "I'm sorry but we don't service that address." WTF!!! By now, it's after 4. We call the office & of course no one answers so we leave a message. Now, it's after 5p when Brittany calls to give the correct address then proceeds to ask for another bank statement to be uploaded in SNAPPT. I am taking a break from work so I don't have pay-stubs & submitted POF for almost 3x the rent. After logging into my bank account, I noticed the May statement was not there & called the bank. They informed me that when there is no activity in the account, the system will not generate a statement. (If you're reading this Brittany, you can view the policy here - https://www.capitalone.com/help-center/checking-savings/online-statements/). However, they offered to fax POF or I could go into the bank to get a verification letter. I relayed this to Britt & she says, "That's unacceptable because those cant go in SNAPPT." Repeating this over & over with the only solution being to cancel the application & forfeit the deposit. "Just get me a May bank statement in SNAPPT and I'll continue the review process." After 2 weeks of not reviewing the application, now you're saying this less than 48hours before we're supposed to move in?! On Friday morning, I reached out to her regional manager for urgent assistance in the matter. Britt calls me @ 3:30p to say, "My regional manager says that ALL banks provide online bank statements. Just go to your online portal, download it & then upload it to SNAPPT. We've never heard of a bank not giving a statement." So, now I'm lying, huh? Britt, just because you don't have money sitting around unused, doesn't mean other people don't. So, I'm just supposed to close my eyes like Dorothy, click my heels 2 times & have the statement appear in my portal by osmosis. GTFOH! I repeated the banks solutions only to be overtalked with "We need it in SNAPPT." At 5:20p, Britt calls once again to officially tell me that she is off for the weekend & that our move-in date will be delayed until the statement is uploaded to SNAPPT. The lack of concern for how your incompetence would affect our housing securities is unconscionable. I am grateful that my daughter & I have the mental capacity & financial resources to pivot under such stressful conditions. So how does the story end? On Friday 6/14, we went right next door to The Point, viewed an apartment & explained our situation. We applied on 6/15 & was approved on 6/17. And guess what....they also use SNAPPT & were able to give us a work around, free amenity fee + 1 month free rent.-THE END! #DOBETTER read more

BEWARE: They do not answer the phone nor respond to emails. Customer service is absolutely horrible. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. Writing this review in hopes that this does not happen to anyone else. My husband and I are both active duty military. When moving to the area we had a short amount to get our living situation figured out. We quickly set out to find an apartment or townhome to rent. When we initially toured the property things in the leasing office seemed chaotic but we decided to set our feelings on that aside and put in an application because the townhomes had the space that we were looking for. Following application approval we had a few weeks until move in. I had a few questions regarding my application and some of the move in fees. I called the leasing office multiple times without any luck. On two of the occasions my call was answered, I was placed on hold, and then hung up on. I decided to call the "central office" to let them know the issue and see if I could get help. They said they couldn't help and recommend I send an email. I called and left a voicemail twice asking for a call back. Never received one...... at this point I'm sick and tired of the poor customer service. My husband and I decide it was best to cancel our application and request a refund. So I send an email. To no surprise I never received a response. I finally get the chance to leave my new job early to go and speak to them in person all to find out that although they missed my calls and ignored my emails I would not be refunded because it had been more than 72 hours when my application was submitted. read more

I moved here almost nine years ago, and I still enjoy living here. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, the neighbors are nice and it is in a really good location in Alexandria. The only cons of living here are the renr increased every year which are high and some of the units are expensive for what you get in comparison to some of the newer units that are built near here. Other than that, it's a great place to live. read more

The day we moved in and was told our unit was "move in ready" by Property Staff A (PSA), we still had cleaners cleaning the unit. After finally getting everything into our unit we noticed the blinds were discolored and uneven, the screen sliding door was broken, and the toilet seat was stained from the previous tenants. Additionally, the central air vent was extremely dusty. This is what "move in ready" standards are according to PSA. After the discrepancies were resolved we ran into another issue, as we were hanging clothes in the closet, the closet shelf completely collapsed! The screws were not properly placed into studs. After that incident we ran into another issue... water started to come up from underneath our vinyl tiles in the bathroom, hallway, and entrance to our bedroom. The first day maintenance saw the issue, they placed a huge dehumidifier in our unit and told us to keep it running 24 hours of the day (and yes, it was loud). The following day, they repaired the issue but told us to keep the dehumidifier on for a few days.. instead of using a wet vac to suck up as much water as possible AND use the dehumidifier. ... you guessed it, another issue has arrived! Water started to leak from our ceiling in the living room, right above my work desk. Apparently a pipe busted upstairs and instead of letting us know what had happened, I got to come home to my work desk wet, including my personal laptop and work laptop. After they fixed the leak upstairs, I was informed that we would need to hang on to the dehumidifier for a few more days to dry out the ceiling. After a few days I called the office and spoke with PSA, and asked to remove the dehumidifier and also if maintenance could fix the huge water stain on our ceiling. Per our conversation, maintenance was supposed to come over between 12:30-1pm to paint over the water stain but no one came. As I was about to leave my apartment around 2:40pm, maintenance is at my door and said they were informed they could come by at 12:30 or ANYTIME after 2pm, this is not what I agreed on. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. It was completely fine when Bozzuto was managing but the current management from Brookfield is consistently incompetent. The package room has been broken since *December*. Their maintenance team continues to tell me my AC is fixed after multiple times coming to "fix" it and yet my electric bills the last two months were $174 and $191. They have gone through several managers just since Brookfield took over and constantly use the excuse that they are "understaffed," yet each time someone moves out they seem to have the money to fully renovate their apartment. Every problem, both with my unit and in the community at large, seems to take months to fix and feels like pulling teeth. And now they're trying to charge over $2k for the same units? Seriously, save yourself the stress and move to Parc Meridian up the road. read more

This review is solely based off the AWFUL "tour" we received today. We will NOT be renting from Cameron Courts all thanks to Wayne :) Let it be known the only reason we know Wayne's name is because he gave us his business card at the end of our 20 minute "tour" rather than even introducing himself. I continue to put the word tour in quotes because I'm not sure you could even call it that. We were asked what our price range was and gave a very flexible answer ranging from $2,500 - $3,500. We were interested in seeing 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms, and the townhome styled places as well. I think Wayne thought we were a joke. He proceeded to show us ONE (yes, ONE) apartment that cost $1,900. Listen - I appreciate someone trying to save me some money... but seriously? I won't even begin to mention that this show unit lacked the cleanliness that meets my standards. When we mentioned seeing more options the comment was that we could schedule another tour another time. WHAT????? When I asked if they had a pet policy the answer was "yes." while he stared at his phone. I returned his shit answer with another question asking if the policy is based on beed or weight of dog and once again, I received the ever so helpful response of "both." You can imagine our disappointment considering this place seemed to have a lot of potential based off its online listings. Don't waste your time here. read more

I have lived here for several years and I have come to detest detest living here and I can't wait to find another apartment elsewhere when my lease expires next year. Why? 1. The unit is falling apart. The kitchen cabinet surfaces are peeling and coming off and the same thing is happening in the bathroom. The windows are gathering mold and cracking to boot. The dishwasher keeps coming out of its moorings and good luck trying to sear a steak on your stove because you will set off the fire alarm thanks to the crappy ventilation in the unit. 2. They are now threatening to tow residents who try to park in the non reserved spaces around the complex. 3. They jack up the rent every year by as much as they can get away with and if you want to go month to month- good luck. They will screw you on that too. 4. Most of the office workers are icy and kind of rude and give off vibes that they don't care. They may be nice to you when you are thinking about moving here, but that ends as soon as you sign a lease. 5. Packages get stolen here on a regular basis. I'm sure being next to the DMV is not unrelated. We love to kvetch with other fellow angry tenants in the dog park who have similar complains so avoid this place. read more

Shameless greed - stay away. I lived in Cameron Court for 2 years. The first year, Bozzuto managed the apartment complex and did a good job, but last year Brookfield took over and the operation took a nose-dive. The units are not nearly nice enough to justify the climbing price point, the grills and other amenities are always broken, it's hard to find a parking spot where birds won't obliterate your car, and the leasing office is completely disorganized. As if that isn't enough, the Assistant Manager was rude and dismissive when we spoke in person to give my notice to end my lease. He failed to give me the one document that they're supposed to have you sign, and now they are trying to charge me 2 months of rent after I have moved out. After paying on time every month for 2 years with no tenant issues, this is horrendous business practice and based on the negligence of the staff no less. Now they want $3,850 plus my security deposit for a unit that's in great shape, or they're sending me to collections to have my credit damaged and to be harassed by debt collectors. The day after my lease ended, they even sent me an email scheduling a "pre-move-out inspection" 3 days after I am not legally a tenant. We moved in Jan. 2017, a few weeks before major construction started literally right outside our window. When we toured the apartment complex before we moved in the office personnel was aware that we are both shift workers. I am a night shift RN and need to sleep during the day. We were never told that in a few short weeks they would be building townhomes literally 30ft from our apartment. Needless to say, it was hell living here. It was impossible to sleep during the day due to the construction teams breaking ground. We were warned of the metro noise but never told of the construction. When we moved out Feb. 2018, it was still ongoing. Parking is not enforced at all. Very few cars in the parking lots even have stickers and spots fill up fast. When my bf would come home late at night (due to his work hours) he would sometimes have to park at the DMV Bc there would literally be no parking in the complex. It was brought up to management several times but no resolution was made. Anyone can get through the gates with a four digit code and anyone can park on the grounds because parking is not enforced. There is also a problem with people missing packages. We had two that went missing and tenants would post about missing packages frequently in the tenant portal. They often due required routine maintenance with only a few days notice. The location is nice and we enjoyed the pool and dog park. Other than that, we did not like living here. read more

I've lived here at Cameron Court for almost 2 years after moving to the area from Las Vegas. I did not tour the complex before signing a lease (yes, I'm aware a HUGE risk) but places in theDMV aren't cheap and this was within my budget. Upon arrival I saw a beautiful complex with well kept landscaping and a gated entrance. I met Christina, who i had communicated the moving process from the beginning with, and was extremely friendly! She gave me a detailed tour of the complex to include all the awesome amenities (I'll get to those) and handed over my keys. I then drove over and I arrived at my unit. I was relied to see that it was exactly like in the photos and couldn't have been happier. Note: the only reason I'm giving a 4/5 stars is because of the slightly outdated appliances (which was always fixed if stopped working) As a review states about missing packages, the office handles most of them. However if the postal carrier puts them outside the unit mailbox because you live on one of the upper floors, you may find yourself searching for a package. (Rest assured you will find it eventually) The amenities are awesome!! The pool is beautiful, no misbehaving children, lifeguard on duty, and you can always get a nice chair for sun bathing. The gym is nice! Has everything you'd need to get a workout in without facing traffic to get to Gold's. Plus there is a studio/yoga room which is really nice! They also hold group Zumba and Yoga there from time to time. It is a safe area as well. You're within walking of Whole Foods, multiple running trails, Starbucks and the Metro. This apartment complex is more than your average complex, it's a community! Friendly neighbors, helpful staff and quick maintenance teams. Ashley and Christina are always there to help when issues or questions arise. There is always some kind of social (food and activities) in the club house throughout the month to include Sip and Paint! All for free!!!!!! I will be sad to leave the community next month, however if you're considering Cameron Court as your next home- come check it out! Chances are you won't be sorry you did!! read more

To my fellow military members, please read! I lived at Cameron Court for the last 3 years and can honestly say up until this last week I have truly enjoyed living in this community. When I moved in 3 years ago, I actually raved about this apartment to my friend (also a military nurse) and she ended up renting with them. When I left for a last minute out of state temporary assigned duty, I continued to pay for my unoccupied apartment and utilities for 5 months to secure my apartment when I returned. Needless to say, I was a big fan of the Cameron Court community. Moving on military orders can be stressful because so many things are out of your control/can change (like the date your movers can come), especially with the evolving COVID situation. There was a last minute change to the date my movers were able to arrive and after consulting with the management team and providing a copy of my orders, they were not able to make exceptions to change my move out date because my request was outside the 30 day notification window. Consequently, my choices are: 1. To live in an empty apartment for 10+ days with no furniture to ensure I get my full rent's worth or 2. To leave on my requested date and pay for an unoccupied apartment for 10+ days. For the last 4 months of COVID, the community members have been paying a significant amount in amenity fees for amenities that were not even open/able to use because of the shut down with no intention of refunding us. In my specific situation, I am extremely frustrated that once again, I am forced to pay for an apartment and services that I will not be utilizing due to elements that are out of my control. As much as my overall experience at Cameron Court has been a positive one, their strict 30 day notification rule and their inability to be flexible to the needs of military members has left a lasting negative impression. If you are looking for an apartment complex that is military friendly, this is not it. read more

Cameron Court is a great community to live in. Friendly neighbors, safe living, friendly dog park animals and owners, large pool. They offer a ton of extra amenities and fun opportunities to participate in. A few cons is the valet trash people were hit or miss with your garbage, some of the grills were at a 45 degree angle and a little rough to use, and the paint/ interior of the apartments were easily scuffed so the cleaning fee at the end was a little steep. All in all it was a fantastic first lease and I recommend Townsend for all your leasing needs. She is very nice and very helpful. read more

I've lived here a little over a year and I love the community so far. The leasing office folks are very nice and helpful any time you need something. The value for what you get in your home is good compared to the rest of the area. Neighbors are nice and you don't see any sketchy people out and around. To the comment about construction, when I signed my lease they were very up front about the noise and even had me sign a form stating that the construction had been discussed with me and that I understood the situation and was aware that I was proceeding forward with my lease understanding that this was an area out of Cameron Courts control. I was fine with it, it didn't really effect me, and if so I would have just opted for ear plugs which cost like a dollar and work great. I moved in in March of 2017. I've also never had a problem with parking. I run a business and come home at various times day or night, weekend or weekday and never had to walk more than one building over for a spot. If would like a dedicated space, they are only $55 which I think is super reasonable. read more

My boyfriend and I have been living here for nearly 6 weeks, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Any maintenance requests are responded to within a few hours (or immediately depending on the situation), the community is friendly and lively, the gym has everything you need, and we feel super safe in this area. I'd highly recommend Cameron Court for anyone looking to live near a town/city (in this case, it's a quick drive to Old Town or quick metro to DC), but also get some peace and quiet. LOVE living here! Staff (both leasing office and maintenance team) is super friendly and super helpful with everything. We've had run of the mill issues in the apartment (not more or less than anywhere else I've rented) and the maintenance requests are completed within a day! I've been home while some are being repaired and their team is always polite, helpful and explain why the issue happened and what we can do to prevent it. (Example: we found a sock in our washer unit, ha) The outside area is always clean, quiet and the neighbors here are great. My pup loves walking around the complex and the dog park here is the best I've ever seen in a community. Plus, we are close in proximity to a bunch of other outdoor spots to walk around (Cameron Run Regional Park, Old Town, Carlyle Dog Park, Mt. Vernon bike trail) Pool has great sunlight and not too crowded, all the grills we have used work perfectly fine. Can't really speak about the gym (lol) but it looks nice and never seems too crowded. read more

The location is great, but the living experience and the management have been terrible. They notified me in March that there was a leak in my apartment affecting my downstairs neighbors. Management notified me that maintenance needed to shut off my hot water to stop the leak. They assured me I would still have water, just not hot water, and that if I needed to I could use my renter's insurance to cover the cost of a hotel for the night. They shut off all my water as well as my A/C. In the morning they turned the water back on so I could take a shower before work, but then left and didn't come back until ~4PM. When they turned the water back on the toilet started overflowing from the cutoff valve. I tried to shut the water off at the valve but it kept leaking. I called maintenance, and put a gallon milk carton under the valve to catch it. Maintenance "fixed" the toilet mechanism, while I was away, but it started flooding again. I returned to a flooded bathroom, and had to fix the toilet myself. To fix the leak they replaced my water heater, but when they did they leaked rusty water all over the carpet. I was informed several times that a cleaning service would come out to fix the carpets (I spent 3.5 months trying to get management to follow through on that promise but they have yet to do anything about it). The management company avoided taking any action and proceeded to give me the run-around for months, each time assuring me that they were working on it, but each time I called/spoke in person they had no memory of talking with me. I tried using the renter's portal to message them about it, but that hasn't done anything either. I would prefer to respond directly over email with them so I have a written record when I move out, but everything is done over their "portal" that sends automated messages with "Do not reply". I noticed that I started receiving a $15/month charge for "insurance", but I have renter's insurance through my own provider. When I messaged them about the charges on their portal I received no response. When I asked in person they said they would look into it. When I called a month later after I was charged again they apologized and gave me a link to use to upload proof of my insurance, and assured me I would be refunded the $15 charge for each month. I had to use their 3rd party renter's insurance to cancel the renter's insurance policy they opened in my name. The 3rd party apologized for the inconvenience and offered to refund me the charges from the past 90 days, but "unfortunately couldn't refund me anything outside the 90 period." After further investigating the issue on my own I found that my original renter's insurance policy listed my apartment management company as an interested party, but when they decided to use a 3rd party I needed to change the interested party to their 3rd party (and update the address). My failure to do so meant they could sign me up for a new renter's insurance policy and charge me $15/month until I cancelled it. I received no notice my current policy would not work until I modified the interested parties, received no notice that I had been signed up for the renter's insurance, and was told I would need to take it up with their 3rd party provider on my own. I do not recommend living here, Management is friendly, but incompetent. read more

Manager was extremely flippant about their mistake and didn't care to make sure the problem was solved. This place has really gone wrong since Bozzuto sold it to Brookfield. I have been living at Cameron Court for over four years. I have been very comfortable here, and the staff has been very accommodating. When management changed hands, there were some backlogs in service that left me a tad disappointed. However, Roxana, the new manager, has worked very hard to ensure that our service requests are handled and executed, and we cannot speak highly enough about her and her staff. I would recommend Cameron Court as a great place to live that is close in proximity to everything you want and need. In addition, it was a great idea to bring the food trucks to Cameron Court on Thursdays. read more

Bozzuto ruined this community. If you are thinking of being a resident, know that they're goal is not to provide a community but to nickel and dime you for every last penny. :( Your rates will change based on the weather, they'll charge you for replacing clean carpet (off white - what evil apartment complex installs off white carpet), and they'll try every last trick to encourage residents to pay more (reserved parking, etc.). The staff is nice and friendly and locked into enforcing the shifting and schewed policies. Another warning - the windows are terrible, units are very poorly maintained and insultate and as a results, tthe HVAC units struggle to perform in the summer. The flip a switch in the summer (before we moved in) and then when the cold came and the heater did not work, it took two days to get the unit serviced and the switch to get noticed. You would think such practices would be part of a scheduled maintainance plan If you rent a unit on the western side of the complex, the trains are extremely noisy. It will make you never want to open your windows. Be warned. The pool is nice though they feature the most arbritrary rules ever (I know because I looked up the code of the City of Alexandria that governs community pools and they are not there). The entire culture of milking money and covering their ass which is not what the stock photos and fancy websites represent. I've rented in many types of complexes throughout my life and this experience was the most frustrated, costly, and least rewarding of my renting life. I would avoid this company and this location. read more

The quality of Cameron Court has gone down tremendously since Bozzuto took over from Avalon. We're now on our second lease term, and wish that we hadn't re-signed with Bozzuto, but timing of other events made it easier for us to stay. I would highly recommend choosing another property not managed by them, even if you have to pay more. Management communicates very poorly with residents - the newsletters we receive usually accuse residents of wrongdoings and provide little information about what's going on with the property (i.e. fixing a parking gate that's been broken for months) and conclude with, "If you're not VERY SATISFIED with living here, please let us know!" They FAIL at communicating effectively - there have been many complaints about this, as we all got letters in our doors recently saying, "We realize that residents feel that we have not been communicating adequately"... They decided to block off a number of parking spaces for "reserved spots" in "prime locations" around the lot. Where parking was open and free before, the number of available spots are reduced now, and you must pay $50/month for these "premium spots" - clearly a money-making scheme by Bozzuto. They put up signs in the lot saying you'd be towed for parking there - then sent out an email a week later saying you could still park there. Highly annoying. The manager of the property - Maureen - is particularly rude and unhelpful. She takes forever to respond to emails, does not return calls, and is defensive when you ask about fixing something on the property. Current residents should work with ANYONE ELSE besides her. They also added a monthly "rent processing fee" when they took over - for what?? No communication that this was happening - just started showing up on our bill. They have an online pay option, but you must pay $10 to use a credit card - ridiculous when so many transactions are done online safely without this fee! The gym has also been poorly maintained since Bozzuto took over. AC is low, machines are not cleaned and kept up to date. Water fountains are not cold. I really hate being under Bozzuto's management - would not recommend to anyone considering this as a possible future home. We also have had issues with picking up packages from the leasing office - the management office is supposed to email you when a package arrives, but we've had to call to inquire about packages or go into the office to follow up on packages multiple times. Often, we receive a delivery confirmation notice from the company we bought from and can see that it's delivered, but never get any notification from the office. However, the apartment themselves have been fine - no major issues except for some weak water pressure that management fixed. Noise isn't bad in our apartment, either, although I've talked to other residents who say the noise from the train is pretty bad. Pet fees, like most other living communities in the area, are high - $500 non-refundable fee per pet when you move in (NOT a deposit, just a flat fee), plus $50 a month per pet in pet rent. I would suggest looking elsewhere for an apartment - definitely more cons than pros. read more

In response to the other reviews, we did not live there under Avalon's management, so i can not write a review comparing the two management companies. However, my dealings with Bozzuto management team have been good. The check processing fee, and the trash fee where known to us, in fact, the door side trash service was one of factors that lead us to chose the complex. The trains are loud, but not a really surprising as the tracks are visible from the property. As to the things that management can control, we had one misunderstanding with management, which was about our dogbeing allowed to live there. The the agent told us he could when we signed the lease. Then when we went to add him a different representative misunderstood and told us he wouldn't be allowed. This did cause a great deal of stress and concern until it was rectified the next day by the property manager. Her actions to quickly clarify and rectify the misunderstanding were greatly appreciated. The common areas, are clean, the club house is clean and pleasant. If you do you homework before living there, and know that you will hear the trains and familiarize yourself with the area prior to moving in, I think you will truly enjoy living here. read more

I have lived here for a year and it has been very pleasant! I did not live here under Avalon so I can't comment on that. I knew about the fees but still opted to live here because it's still slightly cheaper than other places in the area. Do I like paying $35 for trash? No (especially since they don't pick up Friday or Saturday) - I think if that changed it would make this place even better. I never had a major problem with my apartment and anytime I sent in a maintenance request, it was under a 24 hour turn around. Staff is always friendly and helpful and even when I had a billing question after not renewing my lease (for reasons that had nothing to do with living here) they were still helpful and friendly. The amenities are great and they built a new grilling area next to the pool which I have enjoyed a lot. There's also a grill right out my front door - which is awesome. I live on the east side of the complex and have almost never heard the trains, but I'm also not in a building directly next to them. The noisiest thing I have had to deal with are the ac (I think they're ac?) units that are next to the building - they make it so I couldn't sleep at night with the windows open. Unfortunately, another reviewer was right and the windows are not well insulated. This was bad both in the summer when my bedroom was easily 5 degrees warmer and in the winter when it was easily 5 degrees cooler. Overall though, I have had a good experience here and will miss living here. read more

My boyfriend and I have lived at Cameron Court for over a year. We really enjoy the easy access to 495 via Mill Rd, the amenities, friendly staff, and value. We choose CC because it was the nicest and most affordable location in the area. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating - they always remember our names. Our neighbors seem to be friendly, yet quiet. The gym and pool are always clean and never crowded. When we submit maintenance requests, they are always completed in less than 24 hours. One of the nicest surprises about living here is that it's located on the bike path on Eisenhower Ave, which allows for a great run or bike ride after work. read more
